Xero HQ | Clients - Option to assign Chart of Accounts when creating a new Client
When setting up a new client in Xero, it would be great if we could select from a drop-down list the chart of accounts that we need instead of Xero automatically assigning one as we have found that it is assigning the wrong COA to the entities that we are creating. As an example - we have set up a Trust but have been given the COA for a Sole Trader. If we could have selected the Trust COA from a drop-down list, I believe it would give us a more accurate COA without the need to do so much…

Xero HQ: When changing organisations, show more than five organisations in the drop down list
When changing organisations, it would be great to see more than five.
Suggest you show them all so we can scroll until we find the one one want, not just rely on using the search to type in the name of the organisation, if it doesn't appear in the current list of five

Xero HQ: Change Xero Advisor Certification expiry date
Currently all Xero advisor certifications expire in December which is a really busy time for accountants in the UK and it's nearly impossible to get everyone to recertify at this time.
I think it would be welcomed by all accountants if this could be moved to our quieter season in February/March and I think as a result a lot more people would recertify.

I have 100 clients (mainly 1040) and they are not in XERO. I would like to import them so that I can utilize XERO ASK feature to obtain documents / answers for Tax Prep at year end.

It would be useful to see a date when a client started using xero without having to try different dates in the audit trail.

Document Packs - User permissions
The ability to lock down who can prepare doc packs vs who can send them. ie. We want admin to prepare but Director to send. Suggest view / prepare / send.

Xero Sign - Record IP address and email address used to login
Xero sign/Adobe sign
Esigning and the portal is excellent and very useful.
I get worried unlike when you use Adobe DC directly, Xero Sign does not give trails of who signed back to you.
Whilst probably not too likely things were not signedd correctly, I think we need more robust authentication with the IP address and the email address that was used to login being recorded into a report.
The drill down to confirm the transaction is not very helpful and I cannot work out in the secured pdf where to easily see thse things.
Most other providers have better…

Recording Statistical data
Xero should be having a feature Statistical GL where one can enter statistical information or numbers which are vital for analyzing business trends.
For example, If I am maintaining books of a restaurant and I want to record daily covers (footfall or number of customers) which can help me analyze revenue per cover, spend etc.
There should an option to create some designated ledgers to input and maintain these statistical information which does not affect any financial statements but can be used for business performance analysis.3 votes -
Advisor Reports - Allow users to enter dynamic date ranges
Hi can you please add in a function to the adviser reports that allows the users to enter in dynamic ranges, such as current date but can also be extended to other fields. As I do not want to be pulling in a new template each time this error occurs, I would like to just amend the pages by inserting the new date reference.

Xero HQ - Link Xero accounts for different offices
Have a master overview of Xero accounts from different offices.
The offices administrators staff level can only see their own Xero clients unless added to the master overall practice.2 votesHi Cerith - It's possible to 'group' clients in Xero HQ, and you can also manage your staff's access to practice clients.

Conversion Toolbox - Populate Reference for imported invoices
When using the conversion toolbox import template to upload invoices and bills into Xero, it does not give me the option to map the Reference to the correct field. Instead, I have to go into each one afterwards and edit it to include the reference.
There is a column in the import sheet for a Reference so I'm not sure why it won't map it to the correct field. It would be great if this could be fixed to cut down all the manual work we would have to do after uploading the invoices.

I would like if when setting up clients. Under the "Business" tab, instead of industry being so limited, for it to replicate Companies House & use the SIC codes.

Xero HQ - Ask history
To record details of queries sent from Xero Ask such as
- created date
- Who created
- date sent
- who sent it
- recipients that received the queryPurpose: This would be helpful when a client says they have not received a query

This was briefly looked into, however I do want to confirm that there are no plans for developing history for Xero Ask at this time.
We'll move the status of this idea back to submitted and continue to get a sense of the interest around this, here.
