  2. There are three types of bank rules (receive, spend, transfer) and there is no absolute order. So, if there is a conflict between one that is # 1 in transfer and # 100 in spend, the spend one wins.
    Do you see what I mean?
    There is currently no way around this? It would be good to have an absolute rule order covering all three types of rules.

  3. We have to regularly edit invoices from specifics suppliers to correct pennies in the VAT boxes to ensure these match. Using up valuable and unnecessary time.

    We use another software with another company that gets this spot on every time, but considering we pay for Xero we felt it would be helpful to get the VAT extraction down to 100% accuracy.

  6. Currently, each separate line in a sales credit note has to be separately assigned to a Project. There should be tickyboxes so that the lines can be assigned en masse, as there is for bills.

  7. Overpayments should appear in the Find & Match for Customers.
    If a customer pays their correct amount owing, but an overpayment on their account hasn't been allocated against an invoice, it is impossible to reconcile.
    Users have to go into Contacts, check if there is an overpayment, allocate the overpayment against an invoice then go back into the Bank Reconciliation page.
    Users should be able to tick the invoices being paid and the overpayment that was used to reconcile in Find & Match.

  9. Our charity places values first and in searching for a new current account for our organisation, ones with high ethical standards that synchronise with Xero is a very restricted field. CAF, Unity Trust, Triodos for example do not have bank feeds and they say this capacity sits with Xero. We currently bank with The Cooperative that scores well, and we have had to leave Barclays who have been exposed as very poor. To reduce risk we must have another account so my idea is that Xero takes the lead on establishing connections with more ethical banks enabling better choice for…

  10. Currently there is no way to sort or search for unpaid invoices in Hubdoc. This renders the paid flag only useful if you manually scroll down the invoice list. Getting a quick list of all unpaid invoices would be really useful functionality addition and add a point to the paid tick box. I would use it every time I logged into hubdoc.

    Given the flag already exists it would hopefully be a relatively small change.

  11. Re: Handling of Mutly-currency/translating foreign currency amounts into the functional currency

    Multy currency is currently not fully supported in xero.

    A foreign currency transaction should be recorded initially at the rate of exchange at the date of the transaction and then, at each subsequent balance sheet date, foreign currency monetary amounts should be reported using the closing rate.

    This is true in xero only for Bank accounts, accounts receivables and payables set in foreign currency but not for other account.
    As a result users are required to input periodical manual adjustments at each balance sheet date.

Bank Transfers - they are great and easy - but it would be awesome if we could just improve them in the following ways - some of these suggestions incorporates other suggestions - but thinking if you are working on improving this functionality - it would be great to do it all at once.   14. While the auto tax feature is nice, there's certainly limitations, which makes using it complicated. When auto tax is activated, the repeating invoices that move to draft etc should have the auto tax feature already featured. Shouldn't have to change each invoice from manual tax to auto tax.

    This is especially tedious when subscription-based clients are using the repeating invoice feature. Hundreds of invoices are being put to drafts for some clients.

    Thanks for all sharing and supporting how bulk reconciling transactions and suggestions that have been matched to statement lines in your bank would help your business.

    It's great to see the trust you've built in Xero's capabilities to match and help you save time from manually finding and creating transactions to reconcile your bank.

    Along with building on the foundations of our platforms, the teams efforts at present have been on improving the ability to create suggested transactions for more statement lines in your org - With a lot of this being backend logics there's not a heap you'll see from the front side of things but Xero's reconcile engine is getting stronger and overtime you should find even less need to create transactions in your org, yourself.

    With this work underway there is no development for being able to reconcile transactions that have the 'OK' presented option atm,…

  16. Since we ultimately want to see how much each employee is spending and since employees must be set up as a contact - We should be able to link the employees User Id to their contact. This way all the expenses submitted will show up as spend money transactions under the contact for each employee.

    Obviously right now the employee could choose themselves as the contact when they submit the expense report but more often than not, they will not.

    Having the contact linked to the user id will be particularly helpful for reconciling credit cards since the contact info…

  17. To be able to trace back to a billable expense that is connected to a sales invoice.
    I know on the billable expense it states the sales invoice reference number it's connected to (and is a clickable link to take you to the invoice) but on the sales invoice it just mentions billable expense, not a reference or more detail or a link to lead you back to which expense it is.
    This would be extremely useful.

  18. Multiple Report Styles

    It would be great to have multiple report styles for reporting where different logos and different names can be added for reporting. For example we have 2 companies using the same Xero HQ where one company does the accounting work and the other company compiles the reports so we need to publish reports with 2 different report styles and logos.

  19. Would like to see Current Account codes rollover each year to an Opening Current Account Balance (same with GST codes, Tax codes, HP's, Bank loans) - like P&L items do to Retained Earnings code. And show the Opening Balance on the Trial Balance.
    Currently Xero Trial Balance shows Current Account codes (& all of the above codes) with accumulated Opening Balance & current year movement.

  20. This report is great, I love it but we need to be able to customize it more. When you try and add columns it gives a message saying that you have to delete the total column first, then you need to manually add a total column which isn't the end of the world, but you can't select the the new total column in and of the formulas, like if I wanted to add the variance column (Which I would love to) but I can't.
