Organisation settings - Ability to wind back/restore to a previous date
Ability to restore Xero org to previous date.
Purpose: To make customers able to get the previous data from the previous date if they made mistakes in their Xero org.

Hi everyone, thank you for your engagement here in product ideas. While we appreciate wanting a direct option to be able to restart or restore an organisation at a point in time this isn't something we have intentions of developing for in Xero atm.
Xero performs daily backups of customer data to protect against data corruption and hosting service failures. However, these backups are not available for users to restore their organisation to a previous state.
Many actions in Xero are reversible (for example Remove & Redo on bank transactions) we have a help article on Xero Central that may help for some of the scenario's you're after, you may find the History & Notes is useful in determining what actions have been recently made so you can 'undo' these.
For future cases, if you're looking to try out a feature and not sure how it will work the demo company is always a great option to trial and test Xero's features.

Good idea - would be nice if you make a total mess in a day and need to go back to the previous day's version ...and then start again!!

This will be a great idea. Mistakes do happen and restoring to an earlier point will go a long way in-terms of rectifying errors

This is vital to accountants to be able to correct Organisation Data when a client deletes data that affects there VAT position and historical information.

Actually looking to do this for my firm organization. I have been remiss in not keeping up with my organization in Xero, as I currently use QBO. Would like to restart with a new organization without starting a whole new account.

This would be great as I have just imported a chart of accounts into the wrong client and it cant be undone!

Agreed this should be a built in feature or at least the ability to backup and restore all of the entire company data within Xero.
