  1. My team member complained about the privacy of Xero me Overview page.

    The page lists the payslip information on default. It is considered a risk of privacy exposure when people open Xero Me in the office area.

    Maybe it would be good to add a funtion in Xero Me overview page to Hide the payslip information.

  2. Add a template another file option for payroll. HSBCnet allows file uploads with a SUN however as Xero does not have this template it means only options is to apply for a SUN and increase costs of paying our payroll. We need a file that accommodates ACH CR BACs (non-SUN) files. Requirement is Xero payroll ERP configure the file without a SUN then please ask them to do so, as it should be identical to the one we have tested for supplier payments, meaning the word ‘HSBC’ should be quoted on the VOL1 line and the areas where the SUN…

  3. Ability to import the number of days of annual leave/other leave taken per employee for the month. It is very time consuming to manually add the leave taken for each employee when completing the payroll each month.

  4. It would be great to be able to export a report of all notes on employees contact. We use the notes section to record notes about attendance issues, conversations, warnings given.

    Thanks for your idea, Kylie!

    You might've noticed that we've recently added a new button to the Payroll menu - Payroll History.

    This report keeps track of all the changes recorded in your Payroll History tabs and can be filtered by employee. You can then search 'Notes' to view all of an employee's notes in full on one page.

    Whilst this page can't be exported, you can print the resulting page, or copy the values to a blank excel sheet.

  5. Hi, requesting an improved memo setting within payroll. Can we have more setting for memo? for an example a font, format (bold, italic, strike and understrike) and repeating memo.
    Example, a quite unique bonus system for a certain employee and we would like to show her the description for the bonus. we would like to put it on a smaller font size with italic format.

  6. I work in the payroll team at a business where the majority of our employees are on salaries that include super. This means every July, I have to go into every person's pay template and recalculate what their new salary is (because xero works only on an excluding super basis).

    My suggestion: The ability to select whether a salary is including or excluding super per employee. Then every year when the statutory super amount goes up, I won't have to recalculate everyone's new salary for xero. This also means that an employee's payslip has the same salary as what is…

  7. I would like to have the ability to reflect a new increase from the agreed-upon date. Often, salary reviews occur after the financial year-end and need to be backdated. However, Xero does not allow for backdating when other payroll systems do. You have to make a note of the actual start date, which isn't reflected in any reporting, making it not very useful.

    Additionally, there should be the ability for an advanced support person to modify information, enabling them to roll back a change. I recently encountered an issue where third-party software changed the review date of a salary to…

    Hi everyone, an update to my earlier message:


    This change was specific to users of the Australian payroll.


    Apologies, and we'll shift this idea back to 'Submitted' so we can continue to track and share if there are developments in New Zealand Payroll.


    However, at the moment this is not in the team's plans.

  9. Would really like the option to have a second layer to approve leave. I am a HR Manager and find it hard when the manager approves leave verbally and I do not get notified until later. I would like to see the option for HR or Finance to get a notification or get the option to approve prior to the manager so we can manage the employee leave status.

  11. In UK hospitality, Tronc (tips) systems require a different PAYE to your normal payroll. It would be very useful if Xero could accommodate more than one Payroll, including PAYE reference and employees could have a job with each.

    A pay run should be able to be created with each PAYE separately, and each would have its own coding to the balance sheet. e.g. Net Wages, and Net Wages Tronc are different numbers in COA.

    As things stand I've had to create a second company, paying for a payroll which does not integrate into our main company in any way so…

  13. I had a situation recently where we increased an employees salary but they wanted to reduce their working hours by 80%. The salary is based on 1 FTE. There is no way to actually do this in Xero Payroll. If I put the FTE salary in (to recognise the actual approved salary increase) and set working hours to 8 hours a day 4 days per week the 1 FTE salary is paid out in full over the year. But it should only be 80% of that. So I had to enter 80% of FTE and reduce the actual work hours…

  18. It would be very helpful if any super that has had the 'Mark as Paid' applied was also shown on the superannuation status page and also on the Superannuation Payments Report too. It is a collaborative QA, transparancy/visibility thing that would be very helpful given we have clients, BASAgents, Bookkeepers and Accountants all trying to make sure a client meets all obligations so showing this would provide good clear confirmation as to what has occured no matter which 'advisor' with permission logged in - we can all support each other this way.

  20. Have a paid parental leave pay item so that a balance can be input and 'drawn down' on. The employee and the employer have clear visibility on how much time has been taken and how much is left.

    Since STP PH2 compliance has come in, paid parental leave has just become an earnings pay item and not a leave pay item.

    The workaround of running the Payroll Activity Summary or Transaction Listing Summary report to keep track of the earnings processed for the employee, is onerous and not available to the employee.
