AU Payroll - Ability to reverse pay run
An option to do a reversal of a current pay run as currently there is no option to allow this. I had a pay run today and the client had not let me know that there was a change to their pay run until after it had been lodged with the ATO. I subsequently went to the portal and found that both pay runs had been processed as was out to the actual amount in Xero.

AU Payroll - List leave types in alphabetical order
Leave types: why aren't these in alphabetical order on the leave request screen?
I have numbered them so that they should appear in the order I want them, but they appear last. It's the same in Xero Me - I want the most used leave types to appear first, but the leave types appear in a random order.
They are in alphabetical order on an employee's leave balance screen and when you assign a leave type3 votes -

UK Payroll - Ability to change Pay Periods
We have hourly paid employees who get paid 12 x per year with either a 4 week or 5 week pay period. At present, Xero doesn't give this option to change a pay period within payroll calendars. There are only set pay periods.

AU Payroll - Change Super Payment Frequency from monthly to fortnightly en masse.
If I want to change the Payment Frequency for Superannuation from quarterly to monthly, I currently have to do it for each and every employee individually, A fair waste of time because there are many employees on the list to change, but I've done it. When it becomes mandatory in 2024 to pay all employees fortnightly, I'm hoping to be able to 'Select All' employees, and select to change the Payment Frequency' from Monthly to Fortnightly. Do you know if this has been discussed or is likely to become an option for us?

AU Payroll - Fixed amount leave requests for employs on an accrued leave balance
Currently, for monthly employees, Xero does not take into consideration the fact that they have been set up to be paid the same amount each month, therefore the days in the month are meaningless from a pay perspective. Unfortunately, this means that the basis leave accrues on to work out how many hours a public holiday/personal/annual leave day should be when leave is entered is also meaningless. Instead of defaulting to 7.6 (or 8) hours/day leave taken, it does a calculation based on the number of working days in a month. So if someone is being paid on…

AU Payroll - Permit special characters in superannuation member number
Many super fund member numbers have special characters, eg, dash '-' or underscore '_'.
At the moment, only numbers can be entered as the Member Number, which means any member numbers with special characters are deemed 'invalid' by Xero. This means we are unable to process super payments for the staff member.4 votes -
AU Payroll - Exclude team pay rates from timesheets
When you invite an employee to xero me for the purpose of submitting their timesheet, there is a drop down menu for the payrate. In this drop down, it shows 'Self' payrate (the payrate of the person submitting the time sheet) and also 'Team' payrate, a list of all the different payrates of the company. Why would you want an employee to be able to see the different payrates of the team?
This seems like a flaw in the system to me and an employee should only be able to see the payrate that applies to them.

AU Payroll - Edit posted pay runs
You should be able to edit any payrun that hasn't been 'filed' regardless if it was the last one or not. I enter several unscheduled payruns and I've noticed an error in one but I can't fix it because it wasn't the last payrun posted. The "work-around" Xero recommends is to File it and then re-post a counter fix. This feels redundant and unnessary extra work. Essentially its saying I can post an inverse of the original to cancel it out which isn't a tidy way of doing work.
1 voteHi Jamie, just coming back across your idea here. In Xero Payroll as of right now if you've a posted pay run that you need to make adjustments to, you can revert this to draft and make the required changes.
The only time we wouldn't recommend doing this is if the pay run's been filed with the ATO.
Once it's been filed we'd recommend using unscheduled pay runs to make any changes. This is because reverting a filed pay run to draft will cause issues in the reporting to the ATO.

AU Payroll - Include date range in exported version of Payment Summary Details report
When running the Payment Summary Details report for a previous financial year, the report does not show the dates of the financial year the data belongs to. The report is titled Payment Summary Details as at Today's Date. For example: it should show Payment Summary Details reporting period 1st July 2017 - 30th June 2018. For audit purposes, there is no way of determining the date range the reported data relates to.

NZ Payroll - History and notes in Payroll to show changes made
There should be an audit trail in Payroll detailing when changes to an Employee record is made (for example: date an address was updated for an employee and what it was until that date, likewise for other details such as email address, bank account number, tax code etc). As an Employer we should be able to rely on the digitised Payroll system we are using to determine when changes to an Employee's record has been made. In terms of creating an audit trail, this doesn't necessarily only apply to Payroll only and should ideally be something that is…

AU Payroll - Search for Employees within a Draft Payrun
One of my clients has hundreds of employees and at present when processing an unscheduled pay run, I have to keep clicking through the pages to find the employee. It would be so much quicker to be able to search for an employee within the Draft Payrun to then select to add.
