AU Payroll - Include Portable Long Service (BERT/BEWT/ACIRT) on payslips
If this has already been suggested I would like to add in the payroll items an Employer Expense (not a deduction or reimbursement), similar to the way Superannuation is treated, with an expense and liability account. This would account for the BERT & BEWT that is required in the building industry.

AU Payroll - Link deduction pay item to bank account
Please create a deduction for payroll that can be linked to a bank account. Currently deductions can only be managed via balance sheet and/or by adding reimbursement to enable it to be transferred via EFT. Quickbooks and some other payroll software have this ability and it makes life so much easier and clearer for the emlployee too.

AU Payroll - Payroll Activity report to show leave entitlements in draft pay runs
Before posting a payroll, when you run the "Payroll Activity" report, include the leave entitlements about to be posted not just the pay items.
So when you download a report to do a final check before posting payroll you can check ALL payroll activity not just half of it !
2 votesHi Kristen, appreciate you sharing in product ideas here. While this isn't something we have plans for I wanted to confirm you can currently check leave accruals by clicking on the employee's payslip prior to posting the pay run.
Once the pay run's posted, before it's filed, you could run the report and find any issues, and revert it back to draft to make changes if necessary.

AU Payroll - Ability to calculate protected amount for child support deduction
Currently payroll is only able to child support as a deduction.
In Australia, there is a protected amount that employee needs to earn before the deduction is taken out of their pay. There isn't a function that will allow this currently.
Payroll officers manually have to keep track of this and remove the deduction if protected amount is not reached. Small businesses with a few employees would be able to keep track but for the likes of a bigger business with more than 20+ employees, this would be a nightmare.

There is a suggestion to add the function of automatically email employee payslips to their email address instead of spending time to manually do it again and this should be restricted for permitted user access.

AU Payroll - Allow to change settings for Decimal places for pay items.
pay rates rounding by 4 decimal points causing an underpayment of wages. EG: Base rate is 25.65 x 1.5 = 38.475000 but the award rate is actually 38.48. Need a solution for this ASAP.

AU Payroll - Include all gross earnings in salary sacrifice
Suggestion? Please fix the Salary Sacrifice % of Earnings to include all gross earnings, not just payroll items selected for SGC.
Currently Xero will only apply a Salary Sacrifice % amount to any payroll item that is selected for SGC. If an employee chooses to Salary Sacrifice a % of their gross earrings that may include overtime worked, a manual calculation work around is required.

AU Payroll - Recording TOIL hours worked as part of timesheet entry in My Payroll
It would be beneficial for an employee to record all hours worked in the timesheet including hours to be allocated as TOIL Accrual
i.e. employee works 35 hours, 30 hours ordinary and 5 hours to TOIL accrual?
Then when the employees wishes to take the TOIL, they submit a Leave Request as per existing functionality.Currently the employee needs to separately notify payroll regarding hours worked to be allocated to TOIL Accrual. And this doesn't go through the Supervisor Timesheet Approval process.

AU Payroll - Shearers tax scale
Currently you are able to select the tax scale Horticultural/Shearers but there is no default tax rate attached. Apparently if employee falls under this scale you need to select for reporting to ATO which means you have to then manually calculate tax when you do the pays which is not possible if you have multiple employees knowing which employee wants what rate as they all do not use the default. This also leads to errors if not picked up it doesnt calculate automatically. May I suggest that we urgently attention to have the defau…

AU Payroll - Reportable W1 for new pay items in Australia
When adding new Pay Items in Australia, Reportable as W1 should be ticked as a ticked as the default as the vast majority of Pay Items in Australia are Reportable under W1.
Every time the award changes and we import pay items from Deputy, the new items have Reportable as W1 turned off and we have to manually change them.
Changing the Xero default may or may not fix that problem but it should be the default nonetheless.

AU Payroll - Recurring leave request
We have 2 employees that will be taking 1 day LSL every week in the new financial year and it would be very helpful if there was a way to add in this type of leave request as a recurring request for the same day each week. Rather than having to add in 1 day leave for each occasion.

UK Payroll - Allocate Employers NIC cost to more than one account
A number of my client are service businesses and as such all of the payroll costs should be posted either to a Cost of Sale account for Operational staff or Overhead for support staff. I can achieve this for all costs except for Employer NIC cost, which has to be manually moved. It would be beneficial if the NIC could go to an NIC GL dependent upon the type of basic pay chosen.

AU Payroll - Warning for missing employee bank details
A warning or prompt should come up when an employee has no bank details recorded - similar to when an employee's bank account is updated when a payroll is posted.
This can be acknowledged by the user and allow them to move on.
When the ABA is exported - this prompt should come up, every time an ABA without bank details is exported - as the payment could fail and the employee will not be paid.
