  1. Separating out pre & posttax deductions on PDF payslip. At the minute these are all displayed together.
    Would be better if Pre tax deductions where displayed under gross salary and then taxable pay calculated, before displaying post tax deductions.
    Would be easier for employees to follow.

  3. Integrate Xero Payroll with NHS Pension Scheme.

    It will be really helpful if you have integration with NHS Pension Scheme. This may also help many GP Practices and NHS organisation use the software for both Accounting and Payroll

  5. UK payroll - Have the ability to fully process 2 workplace pension schemes. We have 2 contribution schedules, one basic minimum level, one at higher levels. Sage can process both of these and send the correct contribution amounts to NEST. XERO is unable to do this and requires manual intervention in XERO and at NEST. This is crazy, surely I am not the only one with more than one set of contribution schedules?????

  8. Have the ability to enter employer pension contributions in the opening balances when adding a new client to Xero. At present the resulting payslip is incorrect as the YTD employer pension figure only shows the current month and not YTD.

  9. Payroll doesn’t calculate pension until after you submit the payroll/RTI, so you don’t know what the actual net payments are until submitted. Try explaining to a client that what they signed off isn’t what they actual pay.

  10. When an employee leaves, it would be really useful for Xero to calculate how much leave they have left or have over used and then calculate and add/deduct the value from the final payslip. Currently, I have had to do the calculations manually, and then I add to add the holiday to the payslip and change his departure date to cover the leave period - a bit of a messy fudge.

  11. An Employee's payslip gives the current pay period earnings, deductions and net take home pay. It's missing YTD earnings and deductions information on a payslip. Please consider including the same in your future updates. Thanks, We are a Canadian based business.

    Hi community, we’re making some changes to Global Pay Run to help you manage your payroll more effectively;

    - From 23 July 2025 Global Pay Run will become read-only. You'll still be able to see all your past payroll information, however you will not be able to process any new pay runs after this date. 

    - Global Pay run will be retired after April 2026, at which point you'll no longer be able to access pay run. 

    We appreciate your input on how we can improve Xero for you, however with this change coming we don't have any plans to further develop Global Pay Run, and will move any ideas related to this on the site to Not planned. 

    If you're from a region where we offer dedicated payroll products (AU, NZ and UK) specifically designed for your regions unique requirements, you may want to explore transitioning to Xero

  12. We would like to suggest an enhancement to the Xero payroll software that could significantly improve its functionality for our company.

    Currently, Xero offers download options for various pension providers, but we've noticed that True Potential is not among them.

    We propose the addition of a CSV download option specifically for the True Potential pension provider.

    Given that Xero already possesses the necessary data, incorporating this feature would eliminate the need for manual data entry and formatting, reducing the risk of errors and saving valuable time.

  13. Xero cannot current cope with companies that have more than one pension scheme. The upload I need to send to the pension provider includes payroll number, pensionable earnings for period, start date and date of birth. It would be useful if Xero had the ability to add these and additional fields if required customised in the contribution report.

  16. The ability to change auto enrolment percentages when a new staff member first is assessed and paid. A staff member has negotiated a higher employer percentage and I know we can change it once this has been added to the payslip going forward but at the time they are assessed and going to be included in the first pay run as well as a popup which lets you postpone them it would be good to also get the option to edit their pension percentages at the same time.   17. Be able to add a message for each individual employee to tell them what their premium is for their medical insurance benefit.

    The premium for each employee is different, so can't use the payslip message on a payroll run. Adding individual data to a person's payslip each month is too labour intensive.

    Maybe some type of pay item without affecting their pay/tax/NI etc. It could then be added to their pay template so it appears every month.

  18. With the payroll linking RTI with HMRC (UK), it would be really helpful if the pensions could do the same, not just with Scottish Widows but more providers.

    This would really streamline the whole payroll process and save so much time.

  19. PAPDIS file download to include total Gross Salary and not just the Salary with the £520 not pensionable deducted and the pension provider we use (Creative) expects this in their upload. EVery month I have to edit Gross Pensionable Pay for all employees to add the £520 on the PAPDIS CSV I download.

  20. When downloading the individual payslip it would be nice if the PDF would say the persons name rather than the default filename of Payslip (1) etc
    Other payroll software such as Shape does this. Shame that Xero doesn't
