  2. I would like to have the ability to reflect a new increase from the agreed-upon date. Often, salary reviews occur after the financial year-end and need to be backdated. However, Xero does not allow for backdating when other payroll systems do. You have to make a note of the actual start date, which isn't reflected in any reporting, making it not very useful.

    Additionally, there should be the ability for an advanced support person to modify information, enabling them to roll back a change. I recently encountered an issue where third-party software changed the review date of a salary to…

    Hi everyone, appreciate your interest in a shared calendar for Payroll in NZ. With payroll products being worked on quite separately we have split this idea out from this one, so we can track the interest for this in each product and keep you updated.

    Being open this isn't something we have immediate plans for in NZ payroll, however we're keen to continue to track the interest and can keep you updated if there are any developments.

  4. Have an option in settings to only allow employees to access their payslip and not create. Our employees enter their timesheets into a job management system which is synced to xero for actual payroll and timesheets however on occasion they accidentally create a payslip in xero me and it creates a heap of issues down stream

  5. Update the monthly payroll to calculate based on the number of work hours in the month, rather than taking the yearly salary / 12 / number work hours. Given that each month has a different number of work days, the pay rate changes every month and this is a compliance issue.

  6. The option to choose a date to send EE payslips would be a huge help , when you are running multiply payrolls this option would be invaluable. I may run a payroll on the 10th of the month yet payday is 30th so need to remember to log in and send payslips on the 29th. Takes a lot of time up.

  7. A warning or prompt should come up when an employee has no bank details recorded - similar to when an employee's bank account is updated when a payroll is posted.

    This can be acknowledged by the user and allow them to move on.

    When the ABA is exported - this prompt should come up, every time an ABA without bank details is exported - as the payment could fail and the employee will not be paid.

In timesheets, when you enter a new entry by hitting the + be good is the start of time could auto default to the end of time for the last timesheet entry you made, but you could still over type this if you wanted. Currently you have to keep looking and there is danger you could over lap or miss some time and it is time consuming.

  9. Purpose: to be able to move payroll from one Xero company to another quickly and without errors.

    When exporting employee details from payroll in order to bulk upload them onto another company's payroll, it is not possible to do a bulk export. You have to instead individually download each employee. This is fine if there are only 10-20 employees, but any bigger and you are opening yourself up to missing employees and making mistakes. Any other exports currently available do not give all the information needed to then import directly into a new payroll.

  10. Very simply, short term cashflow does not include a range of items the biggest and most important of which is payroll. I think if you are selling this feature you should be very wary of the need for a disclaimer if the feature fails to be accurate, and decisions could be made on false information if for example the biggest expense item being wages is not included.

    Granted it should be something people take great care when making financial decisions and should note the issue, many don't have great financial literacy which is part of why xero was created…

    Thanks for your feedback here, everyone. To confirm, if you're using Xero Analytics Plus the dashboard can predict payroll expenses if they’re reconciled as spend money transactions or bills, and are regular in amount and frequency. To manually include payroll expenses, add them as upcoming money out transactions.

    We don't have any planned changes for how these type of transactions are represented in Short term cashflows in the near term. If there are any updates made we'll share this with you here.

  11. Where payslips are emailed to an email address that is invalid and returns a kick back message.
    Xero to forward kick back message or advise Payroll ID that sent emails out of a problem for an employee's email so that invalid email can be investigated and amended.

    We also use Xero Me for employees however not everyone sets this up on receipt of invite and just prefer to receive email advices.

  12. Have a paid parental leave pay item so that a balance can be input and 'drawn down' on. The employee and the employer have clear visibility on how much time has been taken and how much is left.

    Since STP PH2 compliance has come in, paid parental leave has just become an earnings pay item and not a leave pay item.

    The workaround of running the Payroll Activity Summary or Transaction Listing Summary report to keep track of the earnings processed for the employee, is onerous and not available to the employee.

As I am an external accountant to several client, each with several pay-calendars across numerous entities, I would much appreciate if the ABA files (much like pdf reports) could be given a naming convention that ties the ABA clearly to entity, and pay-calendar when I screen through my downloads.

  15. We have multiple employees that have various deductions from their wages. This is causing the pay slip to spread accross two pages which is concerning as they may miss important information like messages at the bottom of a pay slip.
    There needs to be the either:
    1. The ability to change the payslip layout
    or
    2. Have two or three template options to choose from.

    Currently the whitespace at the top of the payslip could be utilised. The required business and employee information is great but could be in a better layout. Move the business information to the left, employee…

    Hi everyone, we're doing some research on managing employees, particularly looking at our customer's experiences onboarding new hires and setting them up in payroll.

    We'd love to get input from our community here that we know have a vested interest, and we'd really appreciate your time.

  17. To import individual time entries from projects to payroll timesheets, at the moment this only comes through as a bulk time for the day, you then have to manually add the time to the particular pay item if you use more then one pay item. Very frustrating and time consuming, would be nice to have this automated.

  20. It would be great for those Approving Leave, to also be able to View the Leave Calendar that is currently available to Payroll Admin users in the Overview Window. Those approving leave need to know who else is on leave for the requested period, which we currently replicate in our Email Calendars, however it would be great to take this step out, it will reduce time and eliminate errors.
