  1. It would be great for those Approving Leave, to also be able to View the Leave Calendar that is currently available to Payroll Admin users in the Overview Window. Those approving leave need to know who else is on leave for the requested period, which we currently replicate in our Email Calendars, however it would be great to take this step out, it will reduce time and eliminate errors.

  2. It was bought to my attention after using xero for over 2 years that depending on how you pay your staff using multipayment or individually that when you reconcile if your staff have access to contacts then they will see the payments made.

    This is a concern for me that they can see the amounts whether your reconcile as a bulk amount and allocate to them or a generic contact - if you use the cash coding area then xero creates a dummy payee called unknown which again can be seen by your staff with standard access.

  3. When a company changes their payroll frequency to a new calendar there is no prompt to adjust the leave accrual.

    For instance, I recently changed my client from Fortnightly to Monthly Calendar.
    I adjusted each employee to the new calendar.

    On their Leave tab in the set-up of the leave accrual it asked the question:
    Hours a full-time employee works in a Fortnightly pay period
    When I changed the calendar to monthly this question changed to:
    Hours a full-time employee works in a Monthly pay period
    There was however no prompt to adjust the answer, the previous answer just transferred…

  4. Re Payroll/Timesheets/RDO's. Can you please allow employees to enter a negative No of hours in Xero Me to category RDO accrual to get their hours back to the usual eg. 76 in a fortnight. Currently cannot submit.
    Staff working 40 hours to obtain hours RDO is problematic. I don't agree with Xero's instruction to change opening balance accrual figures. Must be able to be audited.

    Please change the break hours to be able to be 1. entered online and not just via Xero Me 2. within 1 entry. Currently staff have to enter 2 lines each day.

  5. Would be easier for employees & team leaders approving leave if annual leave is able to be requested in days and half days. Or to have the option to select either days or hours when requesting annual leave through the Xero Me app.

    It's the most common complaint I hear from our employees that it would be way easier if they could just put in 1 day instead of working out the hours they want to take off.

    Hi community, appreciate your sharing in community here. Atm if you're wanting to change the payment date for an unscheduled pay run, you can edit the payment date while the pay run is in draft status. We don't have any plans for automating this.

  7. Payroll - Victorian Public Holidays -

    Please add:
    Friday before the AFL Grand Final Friday 27 September

    I tried but was not able to manually add this as an extra Public Holiday

    Thanks for sharing in the idea here, Faye! While we don't have plans to change the current set up - as suggested when you choose to "Add Holiday" rather than selecting one of the drop down options, you can just type in the Holiday that you want to add.

  8. Create timesheet availability to Contractors set up in Xero payroll as Non employee.
    Currently this is only available to employees.

    Require the ability to process timesheets to pay Subcontractors for hours worked on site so Super is taken into account but PAYG is not applicable.
    Currently not available to STP2 category Contractor 'Non Employees'

  9. The week ending period on the Timesheet Detail Report is Monday to Friday and cannot be adjusted.

    Oaur pay week runs from Wednesday to Tuesday. We have to duplicate data on an Excel spreadsheet for reporting for management.

    It would be very useful if the week ending period could be edited so we could use the reporting in Xero and save time processing payroll.

  10. Given that there is already a link between Pay Runs and Timesheets, it would be very helpful if the Pay run could recognise what days have time entered on the timesheet then it would recognise if an employee worked on a Public Holiday and then by default record 1.5 times and add the lieu day to alternative holidays.
    This is something that my clients miss regularly as they expect Xero Payroll to do this for them.

  11. It would be great to have a Leave Balances report that reported in hours to match the employees' payslip balances for management to use. The current leave balances report only shows accrued leave in dollars not hours.

    Thanks for sharing with us here, community. While your idea has been reviewed by our product team we want to be open that we will not develop the ability to delete old pay runs. Instead, there is the mark as inactive option.


    We have rolled out new functionality in NZ payroll for timesheets, and while inactive ones are in the list, these are grouped together at the bottom, meaning you don't have to scroll through them, but can still view any old timesheets linked to that calendar.

  14. Payroll UK Student Loans
    Some employees can have Plan 1 and 2 at the same time. At present Xero payroll can only deal with 1 plan. The option should exist for an employee to select more than 1 Plan and the correct deductions be made.
    This is how repayments are allocated between Plan 1 and Plan 2 loans
    For the 2023/24 tax year the repayment thresholds are as follows:
    • Plan 1 loans: £22,015
    • Plan 2 loans: £27,295
    If you earn below £22,015 you will make no loan repayments.

  15. Show pay items (hours) per day on pay slip. So the employee can check hours paid on given day in the pay period and are able to easily check their pay/hours against there records. In my case employees don't have access to timesheets in Xero but even if they did would make it easier to check in one place

  16. Ability to email payslip before the pay run is posted. This way the employee can come back to the pay clerk with any feedback on hours or allowances before the pay run is completed and filed through to myir. The reduces the need to revert the pay run before the "final" posting and payment made to employees. Reverting the pay run impacts on IRD when IRD have begun their processing as they have to do a manual amendment to pick up any changes once the pay run is re-posted.   17. Give the ability to set a percentage (i.e) 50% on an employees bank account when paying across more than one bank.
    I have an employee who always splits her pay equally between 2 bank accounts, however she is a commission paid rep and therefore each pay amount is different. So the current function is no use to me- which allows a $$ amount to be set only. This is fine for set salaried employees but not for commissioned sales reps.
    MYOB had a function where you could set a percentage on how much went to bank account 1, and therefore…

  18. We have up to 100 employees at certain times of the year, and it would be easier to unselect employees we are not paying, than select employees we are paying. A "select all" option would be good.

  19. Be able to add a message for each individual employee to tell them what their premium is for their medical insurance benefit.

    The premium for each employee is different, so can't use the payslip message on a payroll run. Adding individual data to a person's payslip each month is too labour intensive.

    Maybe some type of pay item without affecting their pay/tax/NI etc. It could then be added to their pay template so it appears every month.
