Hubdoc - Full integration with Xero files
I can email my receipts to Xero, when will Xero be integrating the same sort, file, and account application features that Hubdoc has so that I don't have to use Hubdoc at all?
5 votesHi Amanda and Sandy, I want to let you know that you can upload your document or invoice directly into Xero Files without using Hubdoc, and you can assign it from there - See more on our article.
If you’re looking into publishing the document from Hubdoc to Xero files, you can do it too. And you can read more here.
In saying that, let us know if you’re actually after something else.

UK Payroll - Holiday Pay Adjustment
Lot of employee are working overtime. Holiday should be paid adding the Holiday Pay Adjustment. This means that overtime, certain allowances and commission plans will be included in the first 20 days of leave taken in any holiday year. To put this simply, you should be no worse off financially by taking your holiday. So if you earn commissions, claim certain allowances or work overtime these will now be considered as part of your holiday pay adjustment payment. Every employer must calculate this manually, and errors may occur during the process. It would be fantastic if a formula could be added to Xero.
(Monthly pay ÷ hours worked in month) = average hourly pay
Average hourly pay x hours worked in week = weekly payI've attached an example.

Tax Rate - Don't change Tax Rate if Account Type is change
Stop Xero from automatically changing the Tax Rate of an Account when the Account Type is changed. It's so annoying. Offer/suggest, sure. But don't do it by default. No, I do not want to change Wages & Salaries from BAS Excluded to GST on Expenses just because I change it from Direct Costs to Expense/Overhead or vice versa. Such a dumb default setting.

Quotes - Delete multiple lines
it would be ideal if you could have the ability to remove / delete costs in the main information tab in a quote. Ie: If you apply a template with a bunch of costs but realise you need to change it - it would be idea to be able to select multiple costs and just remove them from the quote rather than having to go into each individual cost and deletling.

NZ Payroll: allow employee to edit hours in leave request
Payroll functionality around multi day leave requests.
A number of employees work 4 days , and xero divides the days into 5.
The problem is when a leave request for lets say a day and half sick leave - they cannot manually enter 12 hours (8 +4) or 10.5 (7 + 3.5) unless they do Seperate Leave requests per day.
I have a collegue doing 2 weeks of working 6 hours and taking 2 hours each day on annual leave. I ended up having to make his leave request because I am admin.
I had to obtain pre-approval since the request could not be sent to his manager. We did not want 10 leave requests for 2 hours each!Does anyone else think this would help staff better?

GST | Re-registering - Pick start date
Sometimes an entity will de-register for GST because they are no longer required to file, then circumstances change and they re-register. Currently in Xero when you re-register Xero creates all the prior period GST returns for when the client was deregistered. You then have to manually delete all the prior draft returns.
Would be great if you could have an option to choose the new start date for GST.
thanks!

Sales Invoice - Ability to translate to other languages
I would like Xero to create as sales invoice worded in English and then be able to click a button and Xero then translates all details (including hard coded items) into the language selected and visa versa.

Invoices - Automatically mark invoices from WFM as Sent to set off Reminders
When an invoice in emailed in Workflowmax it is marked with a tick as “Sent”, however this does not carry through to Xero. Is it possible to add this feature so that invoice payment reminders in Xero automatically work without the need to manually change the invoice status to “Sent”?

Bills - Flagging or colour coding Bills in Drafts
Create a way of flagging or colour coding draft bills to pay. When you have some that are on hold for one reason or another and some that aren't due until a lot later in the year, rather than looking at them in drafts repeatedly if they were flagged or colour coded we could easily see to ignore them. Much like when bills are overdue in the 'Awaiting Payment' tab and coloured red. Would just be a nice option to be able to change manually in Drafts.

Hybrid or Modified Cash Basis Reporting
Most of our clients (and I imagine many small businesses in the U.S.) use a hybrid reporting basis. Basically, short term assets and liabilities are recorded using the cash basis while long term assets and liabilities are recorded using the accrual basis.
Therefore, for example, this will result in sales being recorded when cash received but depreciation and amortization expense are recorded monthly. This method of reporting also results in the accounting basis being more similar to tax basis.Xero actually has a webpage describing this (https://www.xero.com/us/guides/cash-vs-accrual-accounting) but states "And if you run a hybrid accounting system, smart software will allow you to switch between cash basis and accrual basis whenever you need." I alternatively suggest that smart software will actually allow you to produce hybrid accounting reports.
Xero currently has two Accounting Bases: Accrual and Cash. Xero should have a third alternative of Hybrid (Modified Cash Basis).

Quote - Send an order confirmation to customer
Order book:
Ability to confirm to a customer that their quote has been accepted & processed as an order. It is either in the process of being made, or waiting in a queue of work to be done.
As the business manager I can look at my order book on a daily basis to see which orders are outstanding and in what priority they should be completed.
Deposits can be assigned to an order, the customer can receive a confirmation that their deposit has been received. This only needs to become an Invoice once the work is ready to be dispatched and full payment is legitimately demanded or the credit term is commenced.
Is this service available on Xero ?
Regards David Richardson

AU Payroll | Employee - Second Emergency Contact Option
Could we please have an option to add a second emergency contact for our employees.
Currently when creating a new employee we only have one space for an emergency contact. However, in the case of an actual emergency only one contact may not be enough, a second contact gives a much higher chance of being able to get in contact with someone.
2 votesHi everyone, thanks for the idea and support here.
We appreciate being able to easily add a secondary emergency contact to the details tab of the employee record is important to you.
Atm, you could use the notes tab to add a new note to the employee record and include the details in here.
To be open we don't have direct plans for making this change within the details tab any time in the near future.

Bills - Record GST and employer deductions as bills and pay as batches
Where the business uses Xero for GST and payroll, it would be great to be able to create a bill off a finalised GST return or finalised payrun. To have the bill included in the payables automatically would ensure the bill is captured.
It would also be great to be able to pay GST and employer deductions with a batch file from Xero, just as we can with other bills. This would remove the need for manual loading of the payments in the bank and ensure the matching of the payment in Xero was a full circle to the finalised returns and the subsequent bill.Where the business uses Xero for GST and payroll, it would be great to be able to create a bill off a finalised GST return or finalised payrun. Reporting | Favourite report from Search
While the new search function in Reports is excellent, especially as there are so many in the overflow button of each listed report, it is not possible to mark the report shown in the search results as a favourite.
It would be great if there could be the option to either go to the report directly, or go to the report in the list so it can be marked as a favourite - or better still have the option to mark it as a favourite from within the search results list.
Alternatively, if the search results provided details of where the report is located in the list, it would be possible to navigate to it and mark it as a favourite before opening it.
In the interim, a search needs to be done every time, so not ideal.
Thanks for your consideration of this suggestion, I hope to see it implemented soon.

2 votesThanks for your interaction in Xero Product Ideas, and sharing with us here. Being transparent, we don't have intentions of adding the ability to favourite from the Search menu in Xero.
We understand wanting to swiftly locate and favourite your reports. Right now, perhaps using Ctrl+F (Control Find) to search the name of the report and quickly navigate to this on any webpage.

Dashboard Graphs - able to extract them to add to reports
To be able to export the graphs from the dashboard into excel or PDF, the same as you can reports from the reports page. There are no graphs that I can extract and those on the dashboard would be useful in adding to reports I send to board members who are not on Xero.

Reconciliation - Create Bill instead of Spend Money
It would be very useful to be able to generate a Bill when Reconciling, instead of just being able to "Spend Money". This would allow much better tracking of transactions, since money leaving an account via Spent Money is far less visible than when a Bill is paid.
Specifically:
When PayPal is enabled as a Payment Method, and a customer pays their Invoice this way, the associated PayPal account shows two entries in the Bank Feed ready for Reconciliation:
1) A transaction fee is deducted from the PayPal account.
2) The full amount of the payment into the PayPal account.During Reconciliation, Xero will helpfully automatically match the transaction fee line with a "Spend Money" option, allowing single-click Reconciliation of this item.
However, if you do so, there is no record of it in the Payable Invoices Report, because it has never been entered as a Bill. Listing all "Spent Money" transactions is possible on a Bank Account by Bank Account basis, but I need things like bank service charge fees to be listed as bills under the name of the Bank - PayPal in this case - in the same way as my other bills from other suppliers are listed in the Payable Invoices Report.
I've searched as far as I can for a similar feature request, but did not find anything. I wonder, therefore, if I'm the only person in the world who needs this, or if my search powers have been affected by kryptonite today.

Appreciate your example of where this could create efficiency and we'll get an idea of the support in this here. 🙂
In the meantime, depending on your type of sales you may find an integration in our App Store that could serve by automatically creating the transactions in Xero.

AU Payroll - Reports: Superannuation and hours worked on Payment Summary Details report
Being a start-up company we claim R&D refund as part of our tax return. In order to support R&D activities we need to work out employee remuneration and hours to support our claims. Currently, Xero does not have any R&D reports that we can use. Hence, I am wondering whether the Tech team at Xero can include two fields (Column options) in the existing report "Payment Summary Details".
The fields required are 1) Superannuation 2) Units (worked hours)
Then we can export this report to work on our R&D claims. Thank you
