  2. Make creating leave requests functional when using keyboard entry.

    Currently, when I want to create a leave request, I:
    - go to the top menu, tab across to Payroll and select (4 keystrokes),
    - arrow down to Leave and select (4 keystrokes),
    - tab through to New Request and select (15 keystrokes),
    and then no matter how much I try I cannot get to select either Leave or Cash Out Leave without using the mouse.

    Then, once I have used the mouse to get the new leave request pop-up, I have to:
    - tab to the employee field (3 keystrokes)…

  3. Xero should reduce Ordinary hours below nil when leave requests are input for the current/previous weeks if the total leave exceeds normal ordinary hours. Eg FT employee 38hrpw is off all current week on leave in addition to 7.6hrs for a day last week not previously processed. Currently, in this situation Xero will not reduce Ordinary hours below Nil and would pay the employee 45.6hours as leave. A manual adjustment is needed to reduce Ordinary hours to minus 7.6hrs to correctly pay the employee.

  4. Could we please have an option to add a second emergency contact for our employees.

    Currently when creating a new employee we only have one space for an emergency contact. However, in the case of an actual emergency only one contact may not be enough, a second contact gives a much higher chance of being able to get in contact with someone.

    Hi everyone, thanks for the idea and support here.

    We appreciate being able to easily add a secondary emergency contact to the details tab of the employee record is important to you. 

    Atm, you could use the notes tab to add a new note to the employee record and include the details in here.

    To be open we don't have direct plans for making this change within the details tab any time in the near future. 

  5. Many of my clients prefer a 37.5 hour work week (7.5 hours a day) to a 38 hour work week (7.6 hours a day).
    I am able to set the leave accruals to a 7.5 hour day but the standard work week in "'Assign default leave types" is always 38 hpw and I have to manually change it to 37.5 to match the leave accrual.

  6. Please enable the ability to pay staff with a joint bank account in same pay run. We currently have to pay two couples with a joint bank account into separate accounts each run. Xero does not permit two payments into the same bank account in one pay run. I have confirmed with our bank that this is not an error on their end. Xero support have informed me that this is not a function that Xero currently offers.

  8. Timesheet - Earnings Rate viewing space needs increasing
    Why is the space so small to view the earing rate selected, most earning rates are much longer than the space provided, which is creating issues to clarify if the rate selected is correct. And creating additional time required to check the correct rate has been entered or pulled through from scheduling software.
    Please widen this space, there is plenty of room as there is excess room in the Tracking area or the page actually widened.

  9. LSL liability calculations are currently handled externally to Xero.

    It would be nice to have a system which could automatically track LSL on staff, similar to asset depreciation.

  10. I'd like to add a note within a pay run that is visible to "admin only".
    Eg. To justify differences due to staff timesheet errors.
    I don't want the staff to be able to see this note but I'm sick of having notes in external programs.

  12. In the age of outsourcing, it is impossible to outsource pay run function to an external service provider (especially if they are based overseas) since they can view employee's personal info such as their Tax File Number, Date of Birth, Bank account Details etc.

    Once the subscriber or authorized accountant/bookkeeper has created an employee card, they should be able to restrict the access of outsourced partner to just doing the pay run. The outsourced partner should be able to just view the employee name to do the pay run. This feature should restrict their ability to change bank account details…

  13. When processing backpay for employees where they have a Termination Date currently involves either an Unscheduled Pay run for a period the employee was employed or undo the Termination date, and run a payrun, then Terminate again.
    Both of these are very time consuming, particularly when there are some 40 employees over an 18 month period that need to be included who have a Termination date.

  14. Can we please have a report that will breakdown annual leave and leave loading. When there is a lot of employees that take leave for a quarter is time consuming to have to drill down into each employee to work out the leave loading to ensure that the SGC amount is reconciled.

  16. Could we please have a flag for a terminated employee who has been paid in an unscheduled pay run (but included in the current pay run).
    Xero continues to create a standard pay for the terminated employee despite the employee having been terminated.
    If the employee was flagged as having been terminated it would prompt the processor to check and potentially eliminate the risk of overpayment.

  17. When Bank or Superannuation details are changed for an employee, Xero sends an alert to the Admin/Account owner of the account. The employee details who have changed should also be sent an email alert.

  18. Xero provides for only one ATO Branch code to be recorded for an organisation in Settings / Organisation details. Also, Xero does not require a branch code to be recorded for Single Touch Payroll (STP) which would be resulting in a number of cases where the ATO is contacting clients and practitioners regarding incorrect branch codes for STP and requiring correction of STP filings which is time consuming and complex.

  19. Some employees have payment information (bank account), and others do not at a client account. The client does not use the bank account information for the payment to employees, then, this information is not compulsory for the client at the moment.
    I found a wrong information of the payment bank account information of an employee and tried to delete it, however, Xero says:
    The account name is required, and
    The account number is required, then,
    It is not possible to save 'nil' information.

    We appreciate the interest and rationale in wanting to be able to delete an employee's bank information.

    While this may be a function we look to explore in the long-term we want to be upfront that this is not something we've currently got planned.

    In the meantime, you can replace the employee bank account details with fake/dummy information instead.

  20. Reinstate "Voided" bills and invoices
    We have had an invoice created accidentally with sensitive payroll info, it was then voided without thinking and now that info is permanently in the xero file - we need to at LEAST be able to edit voided invoices (as you can at any other stage - ie maybe a "reinstate" so we can edit to remove this sensitive data, then re-void??!!
