  1. Businesses need the ability to provide customers with itemized receipts so customers can process their insurance claims/tax deductions etc.
    Xero currently does not allow this - and it is very frustrating.

  2. As a workaround for an issue caused by the obsolete Xero payroll service, Xero support suggested that I use the "edit layout" feature to group 2 accounts in the report. However, Trial Balance does not have an "edit layout" button, so I am stuck displaying 2 accounts that have canceling balances. One of the accounts is the system Accounts Payable account so I am not able to resolve the issue "correctly" with a manual journal entry. Editing the report layout is my only option.

  5. Has support considered the option to filter the leave balance report by employment status? When generating this report all employees are listed or only an individual employee. Why would we need the current balance of leave for terminated employees? I have some employees who have returned, so both are listed but I don't know which is active until I run the report on each.

  6. We raise an invoice to a client.
    They pay it.
    Then for some reason, something changes.
    We need to raise a credit note against that invoice!

    I know I can create a new one from scratch but I want the history with this particular invoice and all the other details that I have already typed into it.

    What I DON'T want - is to delete the payment, create the credit note, delete the allocation of the credit to the invoice, then reapply the original payment.

    It is not an option within Xero to 'copy to draft' and create a negative

  7. Being a start-up company we claim R&D refund as part of our tax return. In order to support R&D activities we need to work out employee remuneration and hours to support our claims. Currently, Xero does not have any R&D reports that we can use. Hence, I am wondering whether the Tech team at Xero can include two fields (Column options) in the existing report "Payment Summary Details".

    The fields required are 1) Superannuation 2) Units (worked hours)

    Then we can export this report to work on our R&D claims. Thank you

  8. I have an employee with two bank accounts - Bank Account 2 currently has a dollar amount going to it, and Primary Bank Account has the balance. The employee would like to swap which one is getting the dollar amount and which the balance. I'd like to do this with a button.

    Instead I have to do it manually, copying and pasting field by field.

We would like to be able to hide certain bank accounts on the dashboard so our employees who reconcile our bank accounts don't also see our payroll bank account (same with loan accounts, savings accounts etc) where the wages get paid from. I.e. the ability to edit the dashboard and 'hide' a bank account for certain employees/ Xero users. Currently as I understand, editing the dashboard is unique to the logged in user.

    Hi Heiko, even if you were to hide the bank account from the dashboard, if the user has permissions that enable them to access bank accounts they would be able to view this information somewhere else. 

    It sounds like you'd be interested in the idea across here asking for the ability to restrict access to bank accounts. Would this be correct? 

    If so, I'll merge to keep this feedback altogether. 

  11. It would be great if you could automatically allocate prepayments to an invoice once the invoice has been created. Or at least receive notification that a prepayment exists so you can manually receipt it.

    We are experiencing that clients have made extra repayments (prepayments) but when the invoice is created and sent to the client they pay the amount on the invoice and the prepayments are still sitting in the system, meaning we then have to issue a refund.

    It would be helpful if the negative balance of the prepayment would sit under the clients name so when you are…

  12. If there's an error in a payrun that causes STP filing to fail, that payrun shows up in STP finalisation for that financial year as something to fix. Given that filing STP just gives the YTD totals to the ATO, this means that even if I've fixed what caused the error, by doing a correcting payrun (as per Xero instructions), I will still be told that it needs fixing when running the STP finalisation for the EOFY.   13. Other programs allow for rounding of time in timesheets to blocks of time.

    Having the ability to round to blocks of 15 minutes is a request of one of my clients as their old program allowed for this.

  14. Edited Leave request date sends a notification to the employee for the wrong date. We recently had an employee request an RDO for 19/07/2024. After discussion with the employee this date was not suitable because the employee was due to provide training to a customer this date so we agreed to change the date to the following week (26/07/2024).

    I then edited the leave request to be for the 26/07/2024 and approved the request.

    The employee received an email notification that their request for leave on the 19/07/2024 was approved!

    The employee then contacted me because they were confused and…

    Thanks for raising this, Chris and apologies we haven't responded sooner. This was an issue that our product team picked up and I can confirm we released a fix so the date will now show correctly.

  15. Ability to obtain a report on the actual costings on each timesheet category. Currently only able to report on the hours paid. Would be helpful to find out costing on each category. Presently have to manually calculate by multiplying hourly rate charge and hours (plus super).

  16. As a small business it is hard when employees take time off when sick especially with 10 days now. We have an incentive in our contract to either roll these over or cash them up however this is not available through Xero.

    Appreciate you sharing detail and why you'd like a cash up option with us here. Being open, as this is more specific to your business(not regulatory) we don't have plans for adding a cash up option within NZ Payroll.

    However, there are currently two ways you could achieve this within Xero Payroll today

    1. Leave the Sick Leave maximum to accrue value as nil this will allow an indefinite roll over of sick leave
    2. If you're wanting to cash up then enter a sick leave request for a single day and enter the total value of a week to cash up with a description of cash up

  17. When the Switch rule is set for an account group in Balance Sheet, only individual accounts with negative balances are moved. Please allow option to switch for the whole account group, not individual accounts only.

  18. In Australia one of the criteria to classify as a "small buisiness" is to have 15 or less employees.

    Could this also be reflected in Xero's pricing which jumps from 10 employees on payroll to 20.

    It would be nice to have a meet half way mark with a fair price for 15 employess.

  19. Current subscription payment method only allows debit/credit cards, it creates an additional step for the cardholder to claim back the fund from company every month. Therefore, I need the option to pay for the Xero subscription via auto GIRO deduction directly from company's bank account. It is more logical to have auto GIRO option since the subscription is for company use and the payment is recurring.

  20. As a charity we would really like the ability to be able to have Gift Aid and reporting on Xero, otherwise we would have to get a 3rd party piece of software to run Gift Aid.
    It would be so great to be able to mark on a customers record that they allow us to claim gift aid on the monies they pay to us and then in turn for us to be able to run a report to submit to HMRC of how much Gift Aid we are able to claim from customers in others words extra income from…
