  2. Add the ability to Xero / Xero Me for multiple time sheet entries per day.
    For staff who work across multiple sites having the ability to add multiple time entries per day and either select a client to associate those entries against, or add a note for each time sheet entry would be fantastic.
    Ultimately you would allow up to 6 time entries per day.

    Example

    Monday
    Time Entry1= 8:00 - 11:30am (note= site 1)
    Time Entry2= 12:00 - 3:30pm (note= site 2)
    Time Entry3= 3:30pm - 5:00pm (note = site 3)

    Doing this would improve the functionality and uptake…

Option already exists to have multiple bank accounts, however If bonus etc is process separately this option doesnt work as its a different pay run, it would be good to have a fixed amount option that lasts for the month and then re-sets, regardless of how many times employee is paid, after fixed amount is paid, balance goes into different account for that month and then re-sets

  4. Repeating Invoices have the option to provide an optional 'End Date', however it can sometimes be difficult and/or time consuming to identify the correct end date. There's also potential to miscalculate the correct end date which can sometimes result in customers being under or over charged if the selected end date results in the wrong quantity of payments.

    It would be very useful if there was a 'Quantity' option for Repeating Invoices which would automatically select the correct end date. Therefore eliminating over/under payments.

    This feature would be useful for those who know exactly how many times a repeating invoice…

  5. Supplier bill payments for South Africa for payments and debit orders that directly pulls from Xero, like being done in the UK with Crezco, which can be done with Paysoft Flow (https://paysoftflow.co.za/) in South Africa for example.

  6. When the Strip transaction fees come across for UK customers, the VAT box states 'NO VAT'. All Stripe fees are VATable so the VAT box should be '20% VAT'
    Currently have to go into each transaction to change this manually.

  7. We have 3 Belgian customers who are unable to used Xero as there is no connection with Belgium tax authorities, comparable with the HMRC in the UK for MTD VAT returns. If Xero truly want to be a global accounting solution, with Group structures having multiple geographical entities, they need to provide more global support/interaction to avoid clients moving away to alternative solutions.

  8. We are a small business that has just started using Xero, but already have 400+ contacts. Would love the ability to filter the contact list. For example, filter by country (show me all contacts in the UK, USA, etc.), filter by creation date or updated date (show me all contacts created in the last 30 days), etc.

    There is no way to sort and filter the contacts, just endless scrolling through a long list.

    Functionality feature that may not be critical to business operations, but it would make life a bit easier!

    Hi Brian, appreciate it's not a direct filter option like you're asking here however if you often need to filter by say country or another aspect of your Contact perhaps you may consider creating Contact groups? This way you'd be able to click on the group within contacts when you need.

    Being open we don't have any direct plans for adding more filtering to the Contact list atm, but we'll continue to track your idea here and share if there are any plans made.

  9. Adding staff working on a project without giving them access to Xero.

    There is absolutely not need for staff to have access to Xero for me to log that they have worked on a project for 8 hours at £xx rate per hour.

    I don't want to add this information to the ledger as the staff are payrolled so I cannot enter this as an expense but I would like to diarise time against the project so profitability can be calculated.

  10. I need to be able to track all my project expenses, including labor costs, for each project. All the labor data is already in Gusto, my payroll provider. Currently I have to create a report in Gusto then manually enter the data in Xero. I also have to manually maintain two lists of the same projects: one list in Xero, and one list in Gusto. I would like the Projects in Xero to synchronize (two way) with the Projects in Gusto. I would also like to be able to pull (or synch) the project labor cost from Gusto to Xero.

  11. I use Projects as timesheets for my staff in my contracting business, and it has worked well for the past two years. I do not use Xero process staff wages, I use ACE Payroll.

    After a staff member leaves, I delete them from Projects, as it costs me $7.50 per month per person, and when you have between 20-25 staff, it can get quite expensive.

  12. To make the profit and loss report calculation is based on Cost of Goods Sold = Opening Stock + Purchases - Closing Stock.

    Hi community, in the way untracked inventory in Xero works it isn't possible to automatically calculate cost of goods sold for a period in your reports. 

    There is a way to go about this yourself through entering Manual Journals to account for the Cost of Goods sold, and adjusting the value of inventory on your Balance Sheet. 

    You'll want to enter your Conversion Balances into an account that has a Current Asset type rather than an inventory type (Inventory type is reserved for use with tracked inventory in Xero and can't be coded to on manual journals).
    To avoid potential taxation and reporting issues - We highly recommend contacting your accountant to check whether this is suitable for your business, or if you need additional clarification on what journals to enter. 

  13. Currently, the accounts you choose for fixed asset additions and accumulated depreciation are also used for disposal and depreciation on disposal. It would be helpful to be able to choose different accounts for the disposal transactions from those used for additions.

    For example, fixed asset additions would go to an 'additions' account, depreciation in the year goes to a 'depreciation charge' account. Disposals go to 'cost of disposals' and 'depreciation on disposals accounts'. This keeps everything separate and mirrors the corresponding figures required for Ltd Company statutory accounts in the UK.

  14. As a retail company with many hundreds of transactions each day it is a massive task to properly account for VAT. All our products are VATable inside the UK but we receive many orders from outside the UK which are non-VATable, or from other EU countries where we must charge a different VAT rate for our IOSS return.

    PayPal holds details of the VAT that was collected as part of the transaction, but as Xero imports all these hundreds of transactions from PayPal it currently does not import those VAT details. That means we have to look at our other…

  15. It would be great to have the ability to mark a bill as already paid when being entered.

    We use the bills email address for employees with company credit cards to submit receipts/invoices for purchases however, when these go into bills and before they can be reconciled, they get mixed up with bills actually needing to be paid. This is also the case for invoices we receive that are then direct debited, before the amount is deducted from our accounts, it's easy for these to be confused for bills that need to be batched and paid. Update inventory when it is posted as an expense to a project as this makes more sense as clients use the project reports to calculate WIP and it is annoying to have to constantly check which inventory figures have been applied and deduct this from the inventory. It also means when projects are billed this actually reduced the stock figure as this only happens when you invoice the project for the tasks and expenses whereas currently invoicing using the project amount does not update the inventory.

  17. Add a function to allocate transactions in an account against each other so you can easily identify which transactions are making up the balance (e.g. in a PAYE you would allocate the payment to HMRC against the payroll journal).

  18. In Xero we have the ability not to show the personal leave balance on payslips. But this is made redundant where the employee can apply for leave on the Xero Me app and see their personal leave balance there instead.

    For consistency, there should be an option to not show the available personal leave balances when employees are applying for leave - either on the Xero Me app or if on the web browser.

  19. Allocate specific tracking categories to transactions instead of showing every category when a transaction is created.

    Currently all tracking categories show when creating a new spend/receive money. In our business one of these categories is used for timesheets only. I would like the option to be able to choose which tracking categories display when creating new spend/receive money transactions in Xero, in the same way that I am able to do this for payroll and on invoicing.

  20. Yes that's right. Let's say you pay a subby £150 in advance and allocate that as an overpayment on their account from the bank feed. You then get an invoice from them a couple of weeks later for £500 and deduct CIS of £100 leaving £400 outstanding. You allocate the overpayment from the account of £150 and pay your subby the balance of £250. The system will only declare CIS on the £250 element of what you have paid. You have to know an overpayment has been allocated, reverse it and allocate the payment directly to the invoice for it…
