  1. Ability to set a default check style per bank account.

On the operating account the check stock has the check on the top, on the payroll account, the check stock has the check in the middle, and on the sales tax account, the check stock has the check on the bottom. Three separate checking accounts, three separate styles.

It would be nice to have a setting where you can say, "if a check is generated from the operating account, apply the operating account style."

  4. Save international payee details on the Xero contact page

At the moment, we can only add international payee details when making a payment. It would be really helpful if we could store these details (like SWIFT code, routing number, IBAN, or account number) directly on the contact when setting them up.

For example, if I’m regularly paying a supplier in the US or Europe, I’d like to save their international banking info the same way I can with a UK sort code and account number. This would save time and fit into my workflow when creating bills.

Hi Craig, thanks for your engagement and for this very clear suggestion for improving how international supplier payments are managed.

We've reviewed your idea to add fields for international payee details (like SWIFT codes and IBANs) directly to a contact's record, and it's now open to gain support from the community. We can definitely see how storing this information upfront would save time and streamline the workflow when creating and paying bills for overseas suppliers.

Along with votes, others can now comment to share additional detail on how this feature would make their international payment process more efficient.

  5. Xero made a lot of noise about how good the 'new invoicing' feature would be. Users gave plenty of feedback early on when new invoicing was optional, both in comments and by not switching over to new invoicing. Xero proceeded with the change seemingly unaware of the negative mood amongst users to the new invoicing feature.

The product ideas section show, only in it's first 5 pages, 43 product ideas about new invoicing. Many of these product ideas are requests for previously available features to be made available again. Many of the ideas are under consideration or being worked on.

Appreciate your feedback, Martin. I can assure you throughout the build of new invoicing we have engaged and tested out features with many different users. To keep customers informed throughout we have shared blog posts and regularly update our Xero Central page with what's been delivered and what's to come.

Being such a widely used feature, we have focused on features that suit majority of our customers needs. We appreciate some customers still want to see more development and we are continuing to enhance this new invoicing experience.

Our products teams have conducted lots of research and testing to refine deliveries, and Xero Product Ideas here is another great way for us to understand what matters most to our customers - As you noted, we are listening and keeping users updated as developments progress with the status updates.

We understand our customers would like to be more involved as we…

  6. What's most wrong with the new invoicing template is that the most useful features have been shifted to to the bottom of the layout , so you have to scroll to the bottom to use them. Also the default of approve and send is not the best option , approve would be better ( or perhaps a way to choose that box default would be terrific. Also to attach files , all the way to the bottom we go, thats crazy . also the size of the template is too big , it needs to be more compact its adds…

Thanks for feeding back to us here, Mark. I want to assure you our product teams and leadership are very attentive to the feedback we've been receiving from customers on the new invoicing experience and we're committed to improving this.

It helps for each of the points you've raised to be tracked separately so our teams can consider the votes as a factor when prioritising and planning development, as well as keeping the communication clear of the changes we're making.

Many of the things you've shared are being worked on and we have separate ideas for these that I've listed below and welcome you to join and vote for each, if you'd like.

Trying to get a better view of the placement of buttons that you mentioned - would this just be the Attach files option or is there another that you would like to see shifted above, too?

  7. A section for CIS suffered as like the current CIS deducted would be really useful. The reporting for CIS deducted is great and helps records for monthly PAYE. A similar section on the CIS suffered side would be great - checking through separate ledgers and updating RTI filings is manual in contrast.

  8. I was recently asked by a client how create a formatted PDF list of their contacts in Xero with addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses etc.

They had been asked for this by their factoring provider.

I know they can select all contacts and use the option at the top of the screen to export, but that creates a csv file which obviously doesn't have any formatting and runs the risk of it being opened in Excel which then messes up phone numbers etc (we are in the UK where phone numbers start 0 and Excel 'helpfully' removes this when opening…

Thanks for the extra detail, Ross and apologies I never rounded back on this here. While we also don't have plans for creating a report that includes all the detail from a contacts record atm I've slightly adjusted the title of your idea here and we'll continue to track interest in this here. If any plans are made down the line I'll be sure to let you know on the idea here.

  9. Timesheet Tap n Go Widget for Mobiles

The Xero Me app is fine for leave and payslips, but it's not the best for end-user timesheet input or management. Sure it works and links to the pay system, but from an end user experience it's behind other timesheet apps as users have to log in to then manually enter times.

However, with a one-touch "tap n go" widget employees could put on their mobile devices (they already download Xero Me ) so they simply tap to input (check-in) the current time and tap to end (check-out).

    This is a common…

  10. It would be very useful to be able to generate a Bill when Reconciling, instead of just being able to "Spend Money". This would allow much better tracking of transactions, since money leaving an account via Spent Money is far less visible than when a Bill is paid.

    Specifically:

When PayPal is enabled as a Payment Method, and a customer pays their Invoice this way, the associated PayPal account shows two entries in the Bank Feed ready for Reconciliation:
    1) A transaction fee is deducted from the PayPal account.
    2) The full amount of the payment into the PayPal account.

Hi Faris, generally as a bill is received prior to payment so currently it's expected that the bill would already exist in Xero when reconciling.

Appreciate your example of where this could create efficiency and we'll get an idea of the support in this here. 🙂

In the meantime, depending on your type of sales you may find an integration in our App Store that could serve by automatically creating the transactions in Xero.

  11. When using Tracking Categories on the balance sheet, we should be able to assign specific bank accounts to specific columns (or tracking categories). it would just be a feature where the balance "as of date" just displays in the column, regardless of all the prior transactions.

Additionally, when paying loans, if a tracking category is assigned for balance sheet tracking purposes using columns, the Bank Balance that is transferred to the note becomes a Liability on the balance sheet. This is crazy. You're essentially reducing the Note liability balance & then increasing it by the same amount as a negative

It does sound like you've set up the Balance sheet in a bit of a niche way to track what you're after here, Sal. Appreciate you wanting more flexibility on how you filter tracking and being able to add a secondary filter for bank account.

I want to be open that this isn't something that we have plans for. We'll continue to track interest from your idea here, but would need to see quite a bit of community support to look at making a change for this in the report.

  12. So at present - as mentioned below it doesn't really make any sense to be logging hours for the day in the morning when staff arrives as every day could be different.

I'd really like a central point that staff can log in through - as opposed to using personal phone. it needs to be a clock in and clock out system with automatic break deduction. At the moment we use the Timestation app that the guys clock in and out with a QR code card then i have to run a report each week to manually input into timesheets...…

  13. When we rebill a transaction to a client that was already paid, if the amount is paid in Euros, for example €5,000, when I issue the next invoice to this customer, the expense automatically shows up to be included in this invoice. The issue is, when I choose this transaction, even though my invoice is also being billed in Euros, the amount is automatically converted to GBP (my company a/c's currency) and then is converted back to Euros so the amount to be rebilled shows us as a different figure either positively or negatively in my favour depending upon…

  14. I've received multiple calls from customers who were confused when trying to find my bank account details on the online invoice. They couldn’t see the bank account details immediately on the view after clicking the "Review and Pay" or "View your bill online" link in the Xero email. Initially, the invoice shows only the Stripe payment option, and customers must click "View Invoice Details" to see my bank account information. This setup is confusing and not straightforward for customers!

According to Xero support, it’s impossible to change this view for customers:

"As these small changes were requested by many users…

  15. Almost all the payment providers are now settling the amounts with the fees deducted from the captured/sale amount. This needs to be reconciled as two lines 1) Transfer to cash control account and 2) Bank fees.
Currently there is no way to create a rule for this, hence it is a big overhead for the reconciliation, with almost a large chunk of card sale having to go through this process.

Can the product team please take care of this on priority? thanks

  16. I see that in Aus the starter plans in Xero are going up by 7-12% again this year (July 2025).

Part of the sales pitch appears to be access to analytics. Subscribers on this level are mum and dad businesses, maybe an employee or two (as restricted by Xero).

They need a simple system they can use, they don't need or want sophisticated analytics systems. There's nothing in their accounts to analyse. They barely have time or inclination to do a bank rec.

I find it odd that xero restrict basic functions and compliance features like invoicing, bills, payroll and…

Hi Craig, we really appreciate you taking the time to share such an honest and detailed perspective on our pricing plans. We hear your frustration and understand your concerns about ensuring our plans provide the right value and features for small businesses, especially in light of the upcoming price changes.

Your feedback is an important part of how we learn and grow. We've reviewed your suggestion to make Analytics an optional feature on the Ignite and Grow plans, and it's now open for the wider community to see and support.

Along with votes, others can now comment to share how this kind of flexibility in our plans would impact their business. Hearing these different perspectives helps us get a much clearer picture of what our customers truly need from Xero.

  17. Sometimes small buisnees is exactly that - a small business without the need for a robust accounting software, but with the requirement for annual online tax filing ability. Effective 2024 all Canadian corporations, with very few execptions, are required to file their corporate tax online.

My understanding is Xero offers this option to UK Accountants & Partners only - not to small businesses.

I suggest this option be made available to the small business that make up most of the country's enterprises. The Canadian government has decreed the online filing method is required from 2024. There are many accounitng programs,…

  19. In Singapore, deemed supplies include free samples given to customers at no charge. If input tax was claimed on the purchase of these sample items, businesses are required to account for output tax when giving out the samples. Currently, Xero does not allow sales invoices to be issued at a zero value. As a result, if a sample is given at no charge, the sales invoice does not register any tax code. The workaround is to input a sales value and create a negative line item to ensure the invoice registers the tax code.

The second issue arises when using…

  20. As an organisation we want to sign up to cyber essentials. It will reduce our insurance liabilities as well as provide us with greater digital security. Currently Xero does not mandate the use of MFA authentication. I would like it to. Primarily for active users but ultimately for staff accessing payslips only as well.
