  1. Hi,
In tax returns for clients that have a business schedule in their ITR, when an asset is fully depreciated, in the following year it disappears from the tax return and depreciation schedule altogether.

Is there a way assets can remain on the depreciation schedule? It is very handy to have a full depreciation schedule for all assets, particularly if clients sell assets in the following years.

    Thank you

  2. As 'Blue Xero' supports a 'Not for Profit' organisation, it disappointing that an accompanying
CT600 cannot be produced in Xero Tax for a charity.

  3. Would we be able to have a tab in Xero Tax between 'To Sign' and 'To File' - called 'Returned' - so that any ITR or AS that has been e-signed is moved across into that tab?

  4. The R & D Schedule does not automatically pull through the following items in the tax return:

R & D recoupment amount (Part B -7) - This amount is required to be manually entered on the income tax calculation statement at label M, R & D recoupment tax.

Total clawback - additional assessable income (Part B - 9) - This amount is required to be manually entered in the reconciliation spreadsheet, Other assessable income, label B

  6. In Xero Tax, you should be able to change the name format for all directors even if they've been appointed after the Accounts Year End. Currently if you've changed the name format for directors previously from 'SURNAME, Name' to 'Name Surname' when a new director is appointed post year end, they are brought into the company information page with 'SURNAME Name' format and there is no ability to change the format to 'Name Surname' to match the others so you then need to change the other directors to 'SURNAME Name' format to match. The ability to change format is a…

  7. PAYG Instalments Estimates pre-ticked

The Print PAYG Instalments payable on the individual tax return Estimate page defaults as "No". This needs to be manually turned on, and even if the client has generated instalments it will not appear on the tax return unless manually selected. Preparers and reviewers may miss this. If it was set on as default then it would not be missed.

  8. I would greatly appreciate the option to easily print or download only the pages of a tax return that requires the client's signature, without including the entire document. This feature would be particularly valuable for accountants who frequently need just the signature pages from multiple tax returns. Currently, the process of manually extracting these pages using another software is quite time-consuming.

  9. Xero gave us a tax estimate for deceased estates (but only within the first three years...), and on my very first trial of this new feature ran into a roadblock - I cannot find anywhere to input the PAYG Instalments paid by the deceased estate, therefore the estimate is inaccurate.

  10. One should be able to create tax returns for Companies that switched their Financials years to calendar year, to avoid late lodgements. For Example, for the companies whose financial year is 1 Jan,2022 to 31 Dec,2022, need to wait till Jun 2023 to file their tax returns

  11. When completing a tax return for foreign residents we needed to adjust the discount rate for the property that they had sold. Xero had no way for us to change the discount percentage so we said that we used the other method to not include discount and then added the discount we should be able to claim to the costs in the Capital Gain Worksheet. As per Xero Support this was the only solution. Can you please incorporate a way for us to change the discount rate of a CGT event?

Hi everyone, as Charlotte has mentioned below, this is not a feature we are currently planning to introduce due to other commitments. However, we will continue to monitor this ticket.

In the meantime, as a workaround, the adjustment can be manually entered in both the self employment and partnership schedule.

  14. Please can we have the ability to submit accounts and CT returns for CiC companies - this is the only thing that is preventing me from switching to Xero for all my submission needs.

  15. Please add the functionality to set a cessation of trade date for a company in liquidation or in the insolvency process to allow for accounts and corporation tax returns to be produced from the last year end to the date of cessation of trade/insolvency.

This will enable Accountants to produce these closing accounts and CT returns from HMRC and so offer a one stop shop and earn more revenue.

  16. Many our trust clients have investments in managed funds, e.g. Macquarie Wrap, etc. Unlike ITR, currently there is no "Distributions from Managed Funds" worksheet in TRT. This means, we need to enter Capital Gains and Foreign Income in the separate sections from "Distributions from Partnership/Trust" worksheet. It would be great if all components from Managed Funds distributions can be entered into one worksheet.

  17. Sooo many suggestions! A shortcut CGT entry, could be easily done by making the boxes in the CGT summary clickable like the expenses area. Thereby not having to complete a full schedule for everything.

  20. I use Xero Tax to prepare all my self-assessment returns for clients and I'd like to send out a reminder this month of the POA due at the end of the month along with their UTR references. Is there any way to produce a report from Xero Tax summarising this information by client which could be exported to Excel and used as basis for a mail merge? If not, this would be really helpful and presumably, as the information is already held in Xero Tax to generate the Payment Reports this should not be very complex to develop. Thanks
