Xero Accounting app - Save a Quote as a PDF
Hi, it would be good of we could save a quote as a pdf using the mobile app instead of having to login to the desktop version to do it.

Quotes - Option for feedback when rejecting
The idea is to develop a function for our clients to retrieve instant feedback from prospective customers on the rejection of a quotation they have received.
This can be in the form of an automated dialogue box where the prospective customer can give reasons/comments as to why they have rejected the quote i.e too expensive, found a better deal, specifications - lack of or incorrect etc.
This will save the customer time to know instantly what the problem is so when do give the prospective customer a call, they have a prepared response and enquire further as to how they…

Reporting - Add a Quote Title column to the Outstanding Quotes Summary
Quote Titles should show up in the reporting so that clients can see which projects they are looking at. This is much different than a reference which is typically a job or project number that the client needs reference to.

Quote - Create repeating Invoice from quote
Currently, to invoice from a quote = a standard invoice. There needs to be an option to create an repeating invoice also. This is consistent with the request to change a standard invoice into a repeating invoice also.

Invoicing / Quotes - Omnipresent 'Save' button
Please make the “Save Button” omnipresent, so it hovers/tracks the page and wherever the user is working, while building Quotes & Invoices...
I keep having to scroll up to the very top of the page, in order to hit “Save” - and found when moving too fast, i can accidentally skip back, losing changes, and then having to start again.

Quote Report - Change Invoice Ref and Date columns to 'Quote'
Reports - Quote Summary pulls incorrect column references. Xero dont accept this is an error and think its a product enhancement.
Currently when you produce a quote report you cannot have a column titled Quote Ref or "Quote date". Xero has a bug which is using "Invoice Ref" and Invoice Date". Obviously for customers of our business they get annoyed that we are sending them reports implying a quote has been accepted and invoiced rather than purely pending. Such a basic error in Xero but they just dont accept the error1 vote -

Ability to include the reference with quote acceptance email. Currently the email notification only has the account name and quote number.

Quote - Ability to have quote reminder
Add feature to automatically follow up on quotes / send quote reminder *days before expiry or *days after quote issued — as there is with invoices. This feature comes standard with most other quoting interfaces.
508 votesHi community, we understand how being able to send quote reminders like you can for invoices, would help with following up on uncommitted work with your customers and potentially locking in sales.
For the time being, as many will be aware you can resend a quote that’s already been sent, by clicking the 3 dot menu in the top right and choosing ‘Send’, where you’ll have the option to change the email and who it’s being addressed to.
This is something we have intentions of diving into discovery for this year and I’ll return to share more news when things progress. Thanks

Quotes - Quote acceptance without marking as sent
I would like to see the ability to accept/decline a draft quote without having to mark as sent in the new quote. thank you

Quotes - Add sales tax lookup tool
The sales tax lookup tool is really nice to have on invoices. That function should be added to quotes. When I'm trying to quote a customer, that isn't an option (sales tax lookup). I have to select a pre-saved tax rate. Seems like it would be easy to add that.

Quote/Invoicing - Job Workflow
BETTER WORKFLOW FOR QUOTES/DELIVERIES/INVOICING:
If we could get the actual flow for how the paperwork per Job can be produced!1.I always start with a QUOTATION: this doesn't always need to be sent to a customer at all as it could be raised by way of a telephone conversation, etc,et. This is logged as a Job manually in a Workbook.
2.If the customer agrees and some do use PO numbers then when we go to accept/confirm, this is when we need the ability to enter Their PO number or some other confirmation that can be proved, this may take the…1 vote -
API - Add quote sending
The Xero API will let you send an invoice by email - https://developer.xero.com/documentation/api/accounting/invoices/#emailing-an-invoice
There is no equivalent functionality for Quotes, each needs to be send manually. This endpoint should be added in as well.

Quotes- Ability to approve quotes
Hi there,
Most clients cannot accept 'DRAFT' quotes, and not all clients like to be emailed through Xero (how you turn it non-DRAFT currently).
Please can you add the same functionality as an invoice where you can accept, save and export it so we can email non-DRAFT quotes to clients and keep communication on our systems/in the format they like?

Quotes - view contact address
Why is it that customers address details are not shown on the invoice and quotation listings. this is causing time issue problems
These were shown in the classic view in invoices but not in quotations

Quote - Copy Project through to Invoice created from a Projects quote
When creating an Invoice from a quote within Projects, the newly created invoice does not retain any connection to the Project that the quote is linked to. This is very annoying and time-consuming - as the only way to then link the Invoice to the Project is to manually select and assign every individual line item, one by one and map them against the project. Surely this is an easy fix to keep an Invoice linked to a project as the quote was? Why would you disassociate an invoice from a project that it directly relates to??

Notification | Send to REPLY TO email when quote accepted
When a customer accepts a quote via the link the email is sent to the users email address - suggestion is to have it sent to the REPLY TO email address and / or the USERS address.
194 votesHi team, I know it's been sometime since this idea was initially raised and we wanted to update you all here.
We appreciate and understand why some businesses would prefer the acceptance of a Quote be sent to the organisation's reply to email address, rather than the user that initially created the Quote.
While our product team have reviewed and are attentive to your interest in this, we want to be upfront that this is not something we currently have direct plans for changing the behaviour of.
Our team will continue to review this idea and when we're in a position to assess notification and communications for Quotes, we'll share if there are any updates around this, here.

Quotes - Edit the exchange rate in Quotes
I have found you are able to customise currency rates in Purchase Orders, Invoicing and Bills to pay, however you are unable to amend this in quotes.

Contacts - Credit Hold to stop Quotes being raised
Ability to block Quotes being raised/sent if a customer has reached its credit limit. Another tick box like the one for Invoices except this is for Quotes.

Quotes - Autosave
Hi
Would love to see the autosave available for Quotes. Often my clients are distracted whilst creating Quotes and when they've navigated to another section (rather than opening a new Xero tab), the Quote disappears!
For one of my clients, his quoting is very detailed and this process takes valuable time which he'd rather not have to repeat if the Quote is no longer there.
Invoices are autosaved of course, once a Contact is entered, so I would assume that the same principle could easily be applied to Quotes....
Thanks!49 votesHi team, while we understand the desire for auto-save in quotes here, we want to be open that we don't have plans for changing the current save behaviour for quotes for the time being. While seemingly simple there is a fine balance in creating a save experience that'll suit majority of users. As some may have seen with new invoicing that has auto-save implemented, we've received wide ranging response for this feature, and there is more work needed to fine tune.
To confirm the current experience, when creating quotes in Xero you'll want to select the Save button before navigating elsewhere in your org, or leaving the page to ensure the contents of your quote is saved.
If there are any intentions of changing how save works in quotes, we will surely let you know on the idea here. Thanks
