VAT - Ability to sort, filter and search from within tax rate or tax box
VAT - Ability to sort, filter and search what is in each tax box or tax rate when reviewing a tax return. This will help when reviewing a return before submitting.
Hi everyone, thanks for engaging us on the idea here.
As previously shared - right now, the transactions report on the VAT return can be exported, fro which you can sort, search or filter transactions.
However we appreciate the improvements this could have if available in Xero.
This is something our product team have picked up and are working through. For now, we'll move to In development and I'll keep you updated on it's delivery here. 🙂

Hello , I am pleased this is happening but although you can export the report to excel - it does not enable you to filter/ sort without a lot of work- as I commented below and yet you still seem to be under the impression it can easily be done. There are blank lines and totals in the excel version so you cannot do anything until you remove them and also you need another a column to show which category every line is in so you can filter. If you can do it easily please explain how?

This would be really useful as checking the top 20 highest vat invoices for instance is a nuisance having to export to excel and then copy and paste the invoice number.

If you could just click on the header to sort by something other than date it would make the review process much easier. By date doesn't seem helpful. Being able to see by supplier or nominal code would make it easier to sense check. I appreciate you can do this via Excel but isn't very professional when sending to a client and it's harder to get an excel file e-approved by a client.

You should have plans Hannah G
Yes they can exported but it is still very difficult to filter whole report. You have to find the start of each section, add the filter each time - time consuimg and wasteful
If you put the vat category in a column and the box number in a column then it would be so much easier

It would be so easy to do centrally - just need to remove blank lines and add column showing category - it would save significant time in reviewing the return

This is a great idea, I have just spent 2 days trying to find discrepancies between the VAT by Box Report and the Receivable/Payable Invoice Detail reports
