  1. Please add a managed fund schedule to the company tax return workpapers, similar to the schedule available for individual returns. This would provide a structured way to enter managed fund distribution components and automatically populate the relevant sections of the return, reducing manual calculations and improving accuracy.

  2. Instead of a trial balance in two columns (debits and credits), have a single column trial balance that sums to zero. This is possible in the comparision columns, but for some reason not in the current period.

Thanks for bringing this to the community. We understand the request to have a single-column Trial Balance that shows the net balance for the current period.

I’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this could help your workflow, add your vote and share which reporting or import processes you’d use it for.

  3. Ability to run detailed transaction and other reports translated to another currency.

When you are running a multinational business, the ability to convert all data back to 1 currency for reporting is invaluable. Though the entity may trade in one currency, being able to report in another is also important.

Also, looking at the detailed transactions for analytics is important but difficult when it's in a foreign currency. Having a multicurrency TB for export/import and reconciliations would also be handy.

Hi team, we appreciate all the engagement so far. We understand that when you’re working with multiple currencies, being able to view and present reports in a different currency can make it easier to communicate results.

At the moment, report currency is tied to your organisation’s base currency, which means you can’t switch the presentation currency directly within a report.

For now, these reports and spreadsheet exports can help bridge the gap when you need converted views for reporting. We’re continuing to track interest here and share it with the team.

We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so others can add their use cases and help us better understand how this feature could add values.

  4. It would be useful to be able to add intangible assets to the Fixed Asset Register and actually have them classified as intangible assets on the register, rather than everything being classed as a tangible asset as it is currently. Then you could expand on this and allow setting for annual impairment write-offs or amortisation policies.

Hi Jake, thank you for bringing this suggestion to the community. We understand why having a dedicated way to manage intangible assets could be valuable, especially when you’re tracking items like software, patents, trademarks, or other non-physical assets. Keeping these records separate from physical fixed assets can help make reporting and compliance reviews much clearer.

Currently, Xero Fixed Assets is primarily designed around physical assets and depreciation.

One option for now is to create custom asset types and map them to the relevant accounts in your Chart of Accounts. While this does not provide a separate amortisation workflow, it can help you keep these assets organised and track their values over time.I’ve updated the status of this post to Gaining Support so we can continue to gather feedback and votes.

  5. It is unacceptable that two standard financial reports within the same accounting system produce different balances solely because of the system's rounding method. Such inconsistencies create unnecessary complications during reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit processes.

Describing this as a software limitation does not address the underlying issue or its impact on users. Standard financial reports are expected to reconcile with one another, and the Accounts Payable Aging Report should match the Balance Sheet. Even a one-cent discrepancy requires investigation, explanation, and additional manual effort, undermining the reliability and efficiency of the system.

Financial reporting depends on consistency and accuracy. Users…

Thanks so much for taking the time to share this idea and explain the impact it’s having for you.

We understand how important it is for standard financial reports to reconcile, especially when even a small difference creates extra work during reconciliations, reporting, or audit review. We can absolutely see why this matters.

Your idea has now been moved to Gaining support so other customers experiencing the same issue can add their votes and comments. This helps our product team better understand how widespread the impact is.

While we can’t promise any specific changes or timing, please know your feedback has been captured and shared in the right place for visibility.

Hi Ian, thanks for bringing our attention to this. We can see how having account codes displayed in their own column, rather than combined with the account name, could make reporting easier to read and work with.

At the moment, account codes and names are shown together when the option is enabled in reports, and can be split manually after export if needed for further analysis.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest from the community. If there are particular reports or workflows where separate columns would be most useful, we'd love to hear more about them.

  7. At present, fixed asset depreciation in Xero follows standard monthly periods, which can make it difficult to align depreciation expense with businesses that report on a 4-4-5 calendar. Allowing users to override depreciation period dates would improve accuracy, reduce manual journal adjustments, and make the module more practical for retail, hospitality, and other businesses that use non-standard reporting cycles.

Thanks for sharing this idea ⭐ We’re moving it to Gathering Support so we can gauge the level of interest from the wider Xero community in supporting custom depreciation periods, including 4-4-5 reporting calendars.

Feedback and votes will help us understand how broadly this functionality is needed, as well as the impact it has on businesses that use non-standard reporting periods. Please continue to vote and share any additional details about how this would help your business.

  8. It's great that, as a Xero Partner, we can add multiple taxpayers to the same Xero licence for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. This is particularly beneficial for situations such as husband and wife property owners who each hold a 50% share of a property.

However, not all clients choose to have their accountant manage their MTD submissions. For those who prefer to handle their own compliance, it can be frustrating that a second taxpayer cannot currently be added directly by the client within Xero.

Allowing clients to add and manage additional taxpayers themselves would be a valuable enhancement.…

  9. When using a custom Profit & Loss report in a set of Financial Statements, you are unable to format formulas to be in bold or underlined. It would be beneficial from a visibility perspective to have these in bold, so they stand out as formulas.

Can this be updated so to enable formatting at this level.

  10. Suggested improvements to Receivable Invoice Detail - Top Customers report.

The definition of this report is attached. It provides a list of sales invoices and credit notes by contact.

If a customer has an overpayment on their account, the report incorrectly treats this cash payment as a sales credit note and reduces the customer's sales figure by the overpayment. Please can this report be corrected to only include sales invoices and sales credit notes? Thank you.

  11. It would be extremely helpful if Xero allowed UK Property Income to be entered manually within the MTD ITSA return, rather than requiring transactions to be entered into the ledger or quarterly journals to be posted.

A common scenario is where a sole trader already uses Xero for their business but also has separate UK property income. Whilst it's possible to separate the figures using tracking categories, this still mixes business and property transactions within the same accounting records.

Allowing manual entry of the quarterly property income and expenses for MTD ITSA would:

    • Keep business and property records completely separate.

Thanks for sharing this idea. We can see how allowing manual entry of UK property income for MTD for Income Tax would be desirable.

We’ve updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can better understand how many customers this would help and the different scenarios people need it for. If this is important to you, please add your vote and share any additional detail in the comments, especially how you currently manage property income outside Xero and where the current workflow creates extra work.

We’ll continue to review the feedback and keep this idea updated here as it progresses.

  13. The new manual journal has added more tabbing which takes more time and has started hurting my hand. We went from a whatever it was to 7 tabs to get to the same spot in each line. It is nice to have an option to copy the line to the next line and select with a space. That seems to have added one tab. I could take it or leave it as a tab. I don't need that as often. But do we really need to tab to the trash column. Are we going to use that enough to need…

Appreciate your suggestion here. We can see how more streamlined tabbing through fields in Manual Journals could support faster keyboard-driven data entry and a more consistent workflow.

  14. Hi Xero Team,

We are in the process of registering Xero as our Computerized Books of Accounts with the BIR. In line with this, we would like to share some suggestions that may help Xero meet the BIR requirements.

For report generation, it would be helpful if the footer could include:

    The type of book,

    A timestamp and date,

The name of the person who generated the report, and

    The software version number.

At present, the footer only shows the date and type of report. Adding the generator’s name, exact time, and version number would make the reports more aligned…

  16. It should be a straightforward matter of going into a transaction to change its status from GST included to GST excluded or no tax, instead of having to remove, redo, undo reconciling and then reconciling the whole thing again etcetera. Especially when there is a file attachment, this is a very awkward, convoluted operation. I daresay in MYOB it is very simple. Just check transaction report, find any faulty coded ones, correct, rerun report, done.

Hi there 👋, we appreciate you raising the idea with us here. There isn't a direct feature for managing these sort of Fixed Asset situations such as; where an old vehicle is traded for a new one. However, it's possible to process this within Xero using Fixed assets disposal, Bills and potentially Manual journals.

I see you've also been in contact with our Xero Support team for direct help on recording this - As they suggested we'd recommend connecting with your adviser if you're uncertain on how to best record this transaction in your organisation.

We'll begin to get a wider sense of interest of an all in one tool for these Fixed assets scenarios from your post here, however I want to be open that this isn't something we have planned in the short term. Thanks

Thanks for sharing this suggestion. We understand the request for the CIS Suffered report to include the subcontractor verification code alongside the existing payment and deduction information.

This could make it easier to cross-reference subcontractor details when preparing and reviewing CIS returns.
