  2. There are often periodic top up payments for accounts (e.g. Tolls) and a periodic statement provided after the fact.

    It would be useful to be able to set up a bank rule to apply these and reconcile the prepayments as the statements come in.

  3. Thanks for adding this feature. I'm trying it and I noticed that if you copy and paste a value with a $ in it, it will not paste properly. Sometimes when you copy paste opening or closing balances from PDF it copies including the dollar sign.

    Please allow to paste the value with the $ in it.

    Also, there doesnt seem to be any way of deleting a draft period. Please consider adding a small garbage bin icon in the period list and inside the period.

    Hi community, we appreciate the support this idea is starting to gain. Our product teams are considering this idea among other improvements as they plan their roadmap and I'll update here if there's progress.

    For the time being, you can change the dates to essentially reset this to the period you want to reconcile.

    To open the period in an editable state from the 'All periods' list:

    • Select the "Continue" button on a draft period, or
    • Select "Edit" on a locked period, then "Continue" in the modal to unlock it

    From there select the 'Edit date range' button in the top right hand side and change the dates to the period you want to work on. You can also click into the "Opening statement balance" and "Closing statement balance" fields to update these.

  4. The auto reconciliation feature in Beta is great but it would be appreciated if you could tailor what to reconciliation. Eg only auto process things that match not create new invoices (from memory). We need to upload tax invoices on all purchases, by auto creating it is skipping this important step. If people have already uploaded (via expenses) then its ok.

  5. On the bank account transactions pages, when someone has paid one of my invoices, it displays as 'Payment: Joe Bloggs', it should display as 'Receipt: Joe Bloggs' as i have received the monies not paid them.

    Thanks for your feedback and for pointing out how the term "Payments" can be confusing—especially for those new to Xero or bookkeeping.


    We get that using clearer terms like "Receipt" or "Payment Received" might feel more intuitive and help reduce confusion when working through allocation of payments on an invoice.


    Right now, this idea’s open for feedback and support, so feel free to keep voting and sharing how a change like this could help in your day-to-day.

  6. Assign multiple transactions to a project in cash coding. There should also be a projects field on the main page, rather than having to go to "add details>assign to project>search for project>click project>click ok>click reconcile".

    As with many travelling workers, many of my transactions for a trip are all bunched together and it would save me so much on bookkeeping time and fees to be able to select multiple statement lines or transactions and "assign all" in one click. Under cash coding makes sense because the checkbox already exists for each line, Projects just becomes another column.

  7. When in a bank account and want to reconcile another bank bank account, it would be really handy from the drop down where we can choose the next bank account to go to, if the number of unreconciled items could also be visible within next to the name of the bank account.

    This stops going back to the homepage to see which account to go into next to reconcile.

  8. Currently, if you connect a new Stripe feed, your default Stripe payment account auto updates to the new account without asking or notifying you. This is highly problematic. At a minimum, you should be notified that its updated. At best, it should ask if you want to update.

  10. On the new home page, for each bank account, the Statement balance is on the left and the Xero balance is on the right. On the Xero app they are the opposite way around. Consistency between the two UIs would save time by reducing friction.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We understand that having consistent information across mobile and desktop is important, especially when you’re checking balances or making quick decisions on the go.

    The suggestion here is to align the bank balance view in the mobile app with the web version, so users can see the same balance details and have a clearer view of their reconciliation position.

    We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and gather more feedback on how this impacts your mobile workflows.

  11. Please could the 'Uncoded Statement Lines' button be reinstated on the new bank feeds page, rather than hidden under the ... menu?
    It makes for an extra click every time and there's plenty of room on the page for it.

  13. Would it be possible to add a feature to colour code our chart of accounts - especially expenses? When I am at the petrol station adding a receipt for a fuel purchase, it would be great to scroll down to a colour (with the account number). Another idea would be to have a favourites for expenses - we could add the ones we use most often.

  14. For bank accounts, add the date that the account was last refreshed in Xero. Currently, it only shows the date of the last transaction, but I can't tell if my last feed failed or if there just weren't any new transactions. Seeing the last successful refresh would tell me if I need to refresh again.
    (One of my accounts requires MFA every time, so Xero always shows a manual "Refresh" button, and so that doesn't tell me whether or not the feed succeeded.)

  15. I would like to be able to copy a Transfer transaction.

    When viewing a transaction on the "Transaction: Spend Money" screen, the "Options" menu includes a "Copy" function. However, when viewing a transaction on the "Transaction: Transfer" screen, the "Options" menu does not have the "Copy" function. Please add the "Copy" function in the "Options" menu on the "Transaction: Transfer" screen.

    Hi Gregory, thanks for raising an idea in the forums here. To try get a better understanding of your workflow, is there a reason you would generally want to create the Transfer transactions prior to reconciling in your bank account?

  16. It would be really helpful if the way the list of bank rules is displayed, when selecting them in the cash coding screen, was improved and made more user friendly.

    Often I have to manually apply bank rules (due to other bank rule limitations). We have a lot, so this means scrolling through the list each time.

    The arrow to display the whole list is tiny, requiring precise hovering to select it, and each click only moves the list at once.

    They could be displayed in a better way, at least in columns, and more shown at once.

  17. It is frustrating when manually reconciling transactions when a variance is a bank transaction fee and I select 'Bank Fee' as the reason for the difference only to then have to select bank fee again when completing the transaction line presented for the Bank Fee.

    Surely, if I have selected 'Bank Fee' as the reason for the difference, the line presented could have the 'Bank Fee' nominal account pre-selected and the appropriate Tax Rate populated given that it is for a Bank Fee?
    It's only a small thing, but it bugs me.

  18. It would save numerous steps if:

    When a new account is created from within a transaction (for instance spend money or journal entry) the option to add a reporting name was available, instead of having to update later through the chart of chart of accounts.

    When creating a new account, through the chart of accounts or elsewhere, that the Report Code mapping category could be allocated at the same time.

    Hi everyone, thanks so much for all your feedback and support on this idea!

    We know that sometimes you need to create a new account on the go—like when you’re right in the middle of entering a spend money transaction or a journal. But at the moment, you can’t create a new COA account then and there.

    The current workaround is to create the account first from the Chart of Accounts before doing your actual task. While that gets the job done, we understand it’s not the most efficient way to work, especially when you’re trying to keep momentum.

    This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. We’re keeping an eye on how much interest it’s getting, and your votes and comments help show the value this would bring to your day-to-day.

  19. Why do your devs keep burying things, that we need to frequently use, under menus?

    Please bring the "Transfer Money" quick button back to the Bank Accounts main page, rather than bury it under the 3-dot menu. That added click each time is incredibly annoying and takes away from the user experience.

  20. We have a major customer who pays multiple invoices but splits their remittance across more than a single bank statement line. There does not seem to be ability to match a bulk deposit against more than one bank statement line.
