  1. New RBC Royal Bank Feed Flinks is very cumbersome for 2FA it asks for the code twice. It also cannot see the Line of Credit feeds that has to be refreshed separately compared to the old connector (Yodlee?). Would be great if you could give feedback to Flinks for a faster connection.

Hi Samantha, thanks for sharing your feedback on this. The suggestion here is to streamline the two-factor authentication (2FA) process for RBC bank feeds, reducing the need to re-verify as often when accessing your connected accounts.

We’ve updated this idea to **Gaining Support** so we can continue tracking interest and share your feedback with our teams.

A quick note: this post also mentions support for RBC Line of Credit feeds. To keep ideas focused on one improvement at a time, please create a separate idea for that request so it can gather its own feedback and support.

  2. Hi When I have one payment that was done for a lot of suppliers, you can match the suppliers to the payment. I would like to have a sub total of selected transactions at number 1. Find & select matching transactions

Thanks for your feedback, appreciate how a subtotal of just the selected transactions in section 1 may differ to the full subtotal of transactions shown in section 3.

We'll get a broader sense of interest from your idea here. It's not something we have plans around at present but we'll share if there's any change.

  3. In chart of accounts create filter listing items greater than 0 t allow a succinct list pertinent to your codes. The filter could be applied to all columns to allow greater flexibility.

Hi Steven, a filter to show only accounts with balances could make the Chart of Accounts easier to review, particularly for organisations with a large number of accounts.

In the meantime, the Trial Balance report can be used to hide zero-balance accounts and show the accounts with activity.

I’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest. If this would improve your workflow, add your vote and share your feedback.

  4. When auto-reconciling, separate spend items from received items. The Aged Receivables department does not find the auto-reconcile feature useful, whereas it is beneficial for the Aged Payables department.

There should be an option to enable auto-reconciliation for spend items while disabling it for received items

Hi everyone, thanks for raising this idea. We understand why having separate controls for auto-reconciliation of Spend and Receive transactions would be useful, especially for teams managing different parts of the reconciliation process.

The idea is to allow users to enable or disable auto-reconciliation settings separately for Spend and Receive items, giving more flexibility over which transactions are automatically matched.

We encourage the community to vote on this idea if you’d find this workflow improvement useful.

  5. Cash coding - Allow user to save partial allocations, such as tracking categories, instead of having to add all final data to reconcile

Appreciate you raising this suggestion. Being able to save partial allocations could provide more flexibility when working through larger list of reconciliation.

At the moment, only completed entries can be saved in Cash Coding. As a workaround, you can reconcile straightforward transactions there first, then return to more complex items from the Reconcile tab.

We've moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback and understanding the demand for this capability.

  6. Please add the feature so users can navigate side to side and up and down by holding tab while using arrow keys in the Reconciliation screen, especially in the table under add details on a transaction

Thanks for your feedback here, Carver. As you may have found this feature is now available within invoicing, purchase orders, quotes and the quick view for bills.

We'll keep an eye on the interest around this in the Bank Reconciliation space here and I'll share if there are any updates.

  7. The auto reconciliation feature in Beta is great but it would be appreciated if you could tailor what to reconciliation. Eg only auto process things that match not create new invoices (from memory). We need to upload tax invoices on all purchases, by auto creating it is skipping this important step. If people have already uploaded (via expenses) then its ok.

  8. There are often periodic top up payments for accounts (e.g. Tolls) and a periodic statement provided after the fact.

It would be useful to be able to set up a bank rule to apply these and reconcile the prepayments as the statements come in.

  9. Set up mortgage or long term bank loan accounts as Non-current liabilities but still enable the user to connect a bank feed. This will ensure the coding and processing burden is reduced when reconciling loan accounts and will ensure the Cashflow statement is correct.

  11. Proposal Title:
Introducing Xero Bank Feeds for Nigerian Financial Institutions
    Introduction:
The absence of direct bank feeds in Nigeria creates unnecessary manual work and increases the risk of errors. We propose the introduction of bank feeds for key Nigerian banks to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    Objective:
To enable seamless, secure, and automated bank feeds in Xero, reducing reliance on manual imports and strengthening audit readiness.
    Problem Statement:
Currently, users must manually import bank statements. This process is:

    Time-consuming and repetitive
Prone to human error and reconciliation delays
A barrier to real-time financial reporting and compliance
    Proposed Solution:
    Xero should partner…

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback on being able to import PDF bank statements directly into Xero in the UK.

We can see how this would make it easier to get bank data into Xero without needing third-party conversion tools.

Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

Along with votes, other members can now comment to share additional detail about how your idea could improve their experience with Xero.

  13. We have twice had clients attach the wrong bank account to the Xero bank accounts when setting up direct bank feeds. Obviously they should check the bank account number when attaching the account but there should be a check in the software to prevent or at least warn against this.

Hi there, appreciate you for putting this forward. We can see how validating bank account numbers during direct bank feed setup could help reduce errors and give users more confidence when connecting their accounts.

We just want to highlight that users have the option to edit and change bank account numbers from the Chart Of Accounts screen after the bank feed is connected.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If this is something you'd like to see, please keep voting and share how this would improve your bank feed setup process.

  14. During bank reconciliation we deal with many customers that slightly over/underpay their invoices, which makes it necessary for us to create overpayments often.
Suggestion: when a payment is partially matched during reconciliation (the user has checked one or more invoices to match with the same contact) and the user selects 'New Transaction' to allocate the remainder, Xero should prefill the contact field with the same contact that the user has already matched.
Reason: Xero makes it a bit too easy to accidentally create new contacts when a user types into the contact field, sees the correct contact showing, but does…

Thanks for sharing this idea with the Xero community. We appreciate the time you’ve taken to explain your suggestion for carrying the contact from a matched invoice or bill through to an additional transaction during bank reconciliation. We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can gauge community interest and hear from other customers who would find this useful in their day-to-day workflows. Votes and comments help us understand how broadly an idea would benefit the community and allow others with a similar need to add their support. If this idea would be valuable to you, please vote for it and share any additional feedback or examples in the comments.

Thanks for sharing your idea, Ellen. We appreciate there are more banks our customers would like to see us to connect with and save manual efforts involved in having to import bank statements manually.

We'l start to get a sense of the wider interest in a feed with Caixa and I'll be sure to let you know here if there are any plans made for this.

Thanks for sharing this idea, Maria. We understand the request to add a Reference column to the Chart of Accounts transaction view. This could make it easier to review and trace transactions without opening each one individually.

We've updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this could improve your workflow, add your vote and share your use case.

  18. Why do your devs keep burying things, that we need to frequently use, under menus?

Please bring the "Transfer Money" quick button back to the Bank Accounts main page, rather than bury it under the 3-dot menu. That added click each time is incredibly annoying and takes away from the user experience.

    Side by side comparison below.

  19. Because overpayments are the only means of receiving or spending money directly in the control accounts (A/R and A/P), they should be called direct payment. On a statement, the activity is called Overpayment, which confuses clients. To the layman, overpayment indicates an error in payment.

If not Direct Payment, can it be called Payment?

Thanks for sharing your feedback here. We understand the request for statements to use terminology that better matches the type of payment being recorded, rather than displaying Overpayment.

I’ve moved this post to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering community feedback. If this is something you’d use, let us know what label you’d choose and why.

  20. My bank connects via Yodlee and is consistently 7-10 days behind. Upon manually refreshing it is still several days behind. This makes staying on top of reconciliation in a timely manner frustrating and at times creates more work as items that have been user entered and manually reconciled then appear again from the bank feed. The rest of Xero is great to use but this one feature is a significant negative.

Hi everyone, thanks for the idea. We understand you’d like Yodlee bank feeds to update more quickly, ideally in closer to real time, so transactions are available sooner for reconciliation.

This could make it easier to manage day-to-day bookkeeping with out waiting for feed delays.

We’ll continue to monitor feedback and input from the community here.
