We are going to have to move away from xero because of the lack of this functionality too

We only sell bundles of products. Our products all have a buy and sell price and so we have to maintain a separate spreadsheet for our bundles and constantly recalculate and update the buy and sell price of our bundles.

This is always changing and we don't update, so our reports don't tell us how profitable a piece of work is. We're looking at PowerBI now to do what we think should be achievable within Xero.

I can see the lack of this feature being the reason we end up switching to another accounting system as Xero won't scale as our business grows

This is an important feature of any inventory/accounting system. Great the xero take submissions from this forum seriously & act accordingly. I note reqquests for this feature back as far as May 2022, its now September 2024. Presumably this feature will be rolled out in the next update

Agreed. As a small business we bundle a number of bought in parts to create a simple sales entity. I don't need the complexity of a full MRP system, so this feature would be a huge plus

i'm trying to set xero up for a veterinary practice (All the practice management software that i tried has very little accounting functionality)
So a feature such as this will help a great deal. I'm actually surprised that its not a standard feature.

A BOM function will be a great addition to the program features. Feature to bundle items to create a set to be invoiced to customers

Manufactured Items, or "builds", are produced from other stock items. When you manufacture an output item you deduct the component items from stock and build the new manufactured output item, which is then placed in stock. This item is then sold in the usual method with pricing specified on the output stock items.

Combo packages as in the required ladies, lawn mower lady weed eater lady trimmer lady and the rakers

sounds simple but it is the thin edge of the wedge, or it opens the door to greater complexity than the current scope of Xero. You know it never stops there, get a BOM and then you will want .... It's crossing a line... I think I've run out of metaphors, but you get the idea.
Still, it's a good idea.

Im bundling individual products for kits and party bags.

It’s very hard to track inventory when there’s no feature for this.

Having an inventory module without this functionality is like using a bucket that leaks from a hole in the bottom.

Does anyone from Xero even read these? It is like they gave us a forum to just vent about all the small things they refuse to address.

BILL OF MATERIALS WOULD BE AWESOME AS MOST OF THE APPS YOU CAN DOWNLOAD COST YOU R900 PER MONTH AND THAT IS A BIT ROUGH ESPECIALLY IF YOU ONLY NEED THE BILL OF MATERIAL SECTION.

It is imperative that this feature be added to the current system in order to benefit all parties involved. FML

Desperatly need the option to track sales for individual items that are sold together as a bundle

Yes this is required of a Market Leader

I consider Xero the best on the market but without this available I'm stuck with Quickbooks as I can't afford the staff time it would take to add in all the parts individually on every quote. Please sort this urgently and you'll have my business.
