Report Templates - Change font type and size
Ability to change font type and size in report templates.
Purpose: To make users’ can provide a report that is more readable, especially for older clients who want to see the report.

Thank you for each sharing and adding your support to this idea, everyone.
We've made some steps around being able to adapt the font size of reports through the use of Report styles. Report styles are available to any Xero Partner, and lets you apply different publishing styles by allowing you to set the logo, colour of titles in reports, and font size of client reports and report templates.
If you're a small business customer, reach out to your Xero advisor to understand how this could help your business, or find one through Advisor Connect today.
We appreciate there are other ideas for improving the format of reports further with improvements such as font type, or text colouring & wrapping - We have an idea across here we'd encourage you add your support and votes to and will share any future improvements on.

I would like to change the font style to make numbers easier to read. E.G. in manual journals the font is good because the numbers 6 and 9 have long tails, (not like the numbers I've just typed) whereas entering bills, these numbers have close tails and are much harder to read. Examples attached.
Please make this change. -

Considering all the sensible requests for this feature already. I am a little disappointed a dynamic industry leading product does not have such a basic facility. Please improve this in months, not another year's time.

Definitely need to be able to change the font size. Our client provides reports to elderly and you would not think this simple tool was unavailable!!

The Font Size on Custom Reports needs to be able to be changed so it is readable. This is a basic feature of reports which should be easy to be read by the recipient.
I am not the only one finding this very frustrating and a negative of Xero

It is a waste of time having to export to excell just to increase the font size to a readable size

Actually if you could allow the import of Excel documents into the reporting, all of this could be avoided, but currently if you try and import one it scrambles it. It looks good until you try and print it. Word is also finicky

Changing the font size is the basic when presenting an easy-to-read report.

I find the pdf versions of the new reports feature difficult to read. The font size chosen is really too small. Since Xero is a dynamic program, it is very useful to get regular "snap shots" of the current situation. While I can obviously enlarge the pdf report for easier reading when I view it digitally, that often means I do not see the whole page and so reading across columns becomes challenging. The printed version requires a magnifying glass!! It would be useful to have a facility where you could select a font size that made for easier reading in any format.
Another feature that I find rather annoying is that the columns widths are sometimes much wider than they need to be. Either there needs to be some sort of auto-fit facility, or someway of selecting column widths with a wrap facility (similar to Excel).

It is great to be able to annotate a report with note numbers, but not if they are so small (and get even smaller the larger the report they are being tagged on) that readers can't see them. If the note number took up the whole space rather than most of it being taken up by the coloured box surrounding the number it would be easier to read.

When adding a text box, the font size is not the same. It is important that font size is consistent throughout all reports. It should be an easy function to add.

THIS IS CRITICAL FOR US.
WE NEED ALL TEXT TO BE IN ALL CAPS, RIGHT NOW CERTAIN TEXT IS IN LOWER CASE LIKE THE DATE "AS OF TEXT" AND IT LOOKS UNPROFESSIONAL THAT ALL OUR ADDITIONAL TEXT IS IN ALL CAPS. ITS INCONSISTENT.
ALSO, WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHANGE OUR FONT TO TIMES NEW ROMAN. THIS IS A VERY WIDELY USED FONT. PLEASE ADD THIS ABILITY TO CHANGE!

Superscript is a basic feature of standard report writing (eg references) but is unavailable in Xero report

Allow the ability to set column widths in reports and in some screens - sometimes the date column is far too wide and wastes so much space, when it only needs to be DD MMM YYYY (11 characters wide) on reports and screens

And allow the ability to stop the text wrapping in the group headings as it takes up so much space on the report

I would like to be able to change the font and size of the lettering, so that it is in line with our company guidlines.

I would like to know if there is a way to change the layout/font/color of the budget variance layout?
Things we would like to be able to change:
1)Negative balances to be in red (to stand out)
2) The bottom amounts (trading income, gross profit, net profit, etc) to be bigger and more bold. -

Please update your reports to allow for adjusting the font size and positioning of the header (ie, centering instead of to the left). Also, please consider allowing the option to re-order the header lines so that the name of the company can be on top instead of the report name. Thank you.
