Projects integration with Receipt Bank
Hi
I would like to be able to assign the project to bills in Receipt Bank like you can with tracking categories. It is very clunky assigning in Xero. I also have a number of team members submitting to Receipt Bank and it would like them to be able to assign each bill to a project rather then me have to chase around when approving in Xero. I have queried with Receipt Bank who say they can't add it as they don;t have access to the Xero Projects API.

Appreciate there's a bit of confusion on the integration.
To be open, whilst we did release an API to Xero Projects in 2018, to sync some of the data requested here would require a bit more development to our API.
As much as we like the interest in this, there are a few other high priority items on our API team's roadmap at present, and this isn't currently planned.
API and integration requests are best shared across in the Xero Developer community, where we have informed experts that can keep you updated.
It looks like we have an existing idea for the ability to link bill line items via the API, I'll keep this request closed so we can get a better view of interest across in the Developer community.

Totally agree. I am very frustrated and have spent a lot of time researching how to assign expenses to projects in Xero - but it's not possible with any apps - ridiculous.
Such a basic function and I need this to streamline for our team. I'll be looking to move to different accounting software. Anyone know of one that does provide this function?

Given the recent price rises in Dext and Xero, the fact that this integration doesn't work is really frustrating.
The fact that Xero Expenses / HubDoc are nowhere near as functional as Dext means I've got to use Dext.
HubDoc - I don't want 10x staff to be able to see everything going out of the company accounts. Doesn't allow creation of expense reports per staff member. Can't assign to project directly (STUPID).
Xero Expenses - can't email PDF's into it and can't auto-backup the files to Google Drive as you can with HubDoc and Dext.
Dext - Can't assign to projects because Xero don't want you to use Dext they rather they waste your money on 2x poor products of theirs.
This is infuriating, when on earth will Xero get their act together.
Why create 2x 80% functioning products in HubDoc and Expenses, rather than just getting 1x 100% correct. Total stupidity. Combining HubDoc and Expenses you'd have a basically functioning product, but no. -

Ability to link invoices and bills to projects via the API is essential. Xero Projects manages the accounting side of projects but not the rest (tasks, resources, etc).
Ability to integrate Xero Projects with an external project management system would provide a solution to achieve Project Management and Project Accounting. At the moment, Xero Projects is of limited value except in a narrow number of use-cases.
