Tracking - Increase the number of tracking categories
I have a real estate client who wants to track clientID and Postcode but also Agent name and property value range. I can only use 2 categories and so have had to make a number of Item codes for each agent 30+ codes per agent in order to do this. If we could have more than 2 tracking categories that would be great!

Hi everyone, we appreciate all the interest in Tracking. As widely used as this feature is we have no plans at this point to develop and extend the current limitations of Tracking in Xero.
As some here may have explored - there are connected apps that may serve some of the needs of Tracking, as well as Xero Projects for those looking to monitor and record finite business projects or jobs.
If there's any change, we'll return here to update.
You're welcome to continue to share detail of how increasing options for tracking could benefit your business, however we want to be transparent in our position, so you can make the best decision as needed for your business.

As a company, we require both of our existing tracking categories to remain active to support our current operational and reporting needs. With the upcoming implementation of E-Invoicing, an additional tracking category has been requested to facilitate accurate classification and compliance.
Given this, we recommend extending the current limit on tracking categories to accommodate this new requirement without compromising our existing structure.
We would appreciate your consideration of this request and look forward to your guidance on the next steps.

Seriously this needs an update, we will need to consider other systems if the number of tracking categories cannot be increased beyond 2 active categories.

We moved over to Xero under the impression that 4 tracking categories are available as stated online "In total, you can only have four tracking categories." When setting up the categories - suddenly we can only have two? This is very confusing and does not make sense. A third tracking category would make a huge improvement for our company.

This would be a great addition to Xero. To limit us to only two categories when there is so much interest in adding more seems nonsensical.
It would greatly benefit our tracking ability within the company, which at the moment is being seriously limited.

I would love to see the number of tracking options increased. I see there were no plans in 2023, maybe in 2025! Options are OK, but it would be even better if there were sub-options as well, if you get my meaning.

Indeed, we need additional tracking category in order to proceed for E-invoicing implementation. Currently the maximum 2 tracking we already in used are not enough as E-Invoicing required another new tracking. Suggests Xero to open extra 1-2 tracking so that E-Invoicing Implementation can be smoother.
Just few days left, On 1st Jan 2025, the phase 2 Malaysia E-Invoicing implementation. Please re-consider to add in new tracking. Thanks
