Invoice/Bill - Change transaction type

It would be nice if you could flip an invoice or a bill to a credit note of each kind. Sometimes when bringing in data from Hubdoc, a credit note will be pushed as a bill, so if you could basically hit a button to flip it the other way that would be great, same with invoices.

You may already have seen on this idea, Hubdoc has rolled out support for automatic credit note detection.

As mentioned by some here, when a credit note is detected by Hubdoc, all you'll need to do is review before publishing to Xero.

Though there are suggestions for a direct button in Xero, based on this availability through Hubdoc, we're going to mark this idea as delivered.

    Alternatively, an option to convert a bill created into a credit note if, when creating it, the system detects that you've created a bill with a negative value (ie when you click 'Approve' on the bill, you get a popup with the option to convert to credit note or go back and edit, instead of a popup saying "you can't do this".)

    This would be so helpful, happens quite a lot that credit notes are in the draft bills.

    Agreed, importing a credit note it ends up in bills!

    It would be great if Xero could add all the similar requests together so that the votes were added together, and then a true picture of how many people would like an idea actioned could be gained!

    Yes. We use Dext and we have the same issue. I have tried to select different types to see if I can push it to invoices instead of a bill.

    Great Idea, When a credit note has been entered the default becomes
    Credit note and the next bill can be wrongly entered.

    This would also be good if you have paid a bill and then later it is refunded due t a return - so to create a credit note from the bill even if paid....
