Xero Me - Ability to log start/end times and breaks

Ability to select log start/end times and breaks in Xero Me.

Purpose: Users can easily log their start/end times and break in Xero Me rather than having to use a third party app.

Hi everyone, thanks for your continued interest here. We’re pleased to share that as of today start, end and unpaid break times that we recently announced is going to be rolled out to payroll employees using Xero Me Mobile, and will be available to all employees by the end of the week.

When using Xero Me Mobile, employees will be able to select a new timesheet setting which will allow them to enter start, end and unpaid break time within their timesheet, as well as enter a Note, all of which will be visible to the Payroll Admins using the web experience of Xero Me.


To add to this, we’ve updated My Payroll within the product to Xero Me to simplify the experience and create more consistency. Read these updates and more from product on the Xero Blog.

    Employee 'Start/Finish' times over two days as in hospitality industry. Example, start Friday night 8.00 pm, Finish Saturday morning 2.00 am. Same shift but different pay rates/penalities

    Do we know how far away the feature of start/finish/break times on timesheets is? I am getting extremely frustrated in all this double handling and would have thought that this would have been in place years ago with all the legal processes regarding payroll in place.

    It would be great if an employee could enter his/her start, finish and break times into their timesheet each day, rather than just total hours worked per day. I have employees who regularly miscalculate their total hours worked in a day, which creates errors if they use web or XeroMe timesheets. I know there are paid add-ons that do that but their functionality overlaps with Xero and is well beyond the scope of just needing to add specific start and finish times for the subscription costs.

    This is critical to have a complete system rather than having to integrate a 3rd party for this simple process.

    I agree, this is extremely important for employers to be able to keep track of staff hours. It will eliminate the potential for human calculation errors and transcribing errors.

    We have tried the Xero time sheets but have gone back to paper based time sheets as the time sheet function does not give enough information.

    Would really love to have an option of roster/time sheet function.

    I will not use Xero time sheets until this can happen. They are currently no use to me

    Xero does not meet timesheet compliance as staff are unable to enter start, finish and lunch breaks. Would love for it to meet this requirement rather than having to use other options.
    Also would love the timesheets to show entered leave applications and the hours in red on the timesheet. This saves jumping back and forth from leave to timesheets to double check.

    Payroll AU: This is much needed feature update. Staff needs to record start & finish times and breaks on timesheets is required by law.

    This feature will save us a lot of HR/Admin time and make us compliant.

    Yes, need to have this ability. At present staff can only log the total hrs worked - which is not appropriate. We need to have start finish and lunch break options that then flow seamlessly into Xero. At present I spend half my time adjusting hours resetting following up staff - this is very frustrating and I really don't want to engage another 3rd party for this.

    ability to record start & finish times and breaks on timesheets is required by law - Xero does not provide this function for users of Xero Me, which makes us non-compliant

    I am currently searching for an appropiate portal where staff can record their start and end times and lunch breaks so it would be most helpful if Xero would implement this as soon as possible

    Absolutely important. Why have timetabling it doesn’t allow for staff breaks?
