Excel/Google Sheets Integration
The ability to have a live feed between Xero to Excel/Google Sheets so that we can create our own custom reports outside of Xero.
Hi Adam, do want to be open that we don't have intentions of creating a live feed of data into Excel/Google Sheet.
Many of the reports in Xero can be exported to Excel or Sheets.
Keen to better understand the data you're looking to be able to incorporate in your reports - Can you give a bit more detail about what is currently missing that you'd like to see in reports?

@Andrei I've had this problem myself previously, I think I did resolve it but can't remember how (and I'm not even sure if the same method would still work) - have you tried disconnecting your Google Drive integration from your Xero Integrations list?

Hi all,
Could you pls advise how to export a report to Google Sheets if I need to change Google account? I cannot use the previous Google account. So the export should be made to another one. Have no idea how to switch it in Xero -

@Sam I have looked into Datadear previously, I noticed that it had actually been purchased by QuickBooks! Even now it doesn't seem to be letting me log in to their portal via a Xero account, so as far as I was aware all Xero functionality has been restricted - although their website still says it should integrate with it...

Hi @Kelly, it could be any number of non-financial data or data from other sources that you don't/can't bring into Xero, but wish to report on with reference to financial data (which is in Xero).
You can't create a live dashboard from multiple data sources without first bringing those data sources together.
@Adam, I think Datadear (https://www.datadear.com/) and others do this 🙂

I agree that this functionality would be a great addition to the existing offering. The use case for me would be to easily update a consolidated report from multiple Xero accounts instead of the current time consuming method of exporting the report from every account and joining together. I am definitely keen for a solution to be developed similar to this where processes can be automated.

Currently I find there's a level of customisation in the reports that I feel is missing - for example, in the 'new' Profit & Loss report there's no option to add in variance analysis. I know you can add in formulas via customising the report, however as you can't have different formulas for both income and expenditure analysis this isn't really something we can use for that purpose.
Additionally, because we use Excel for a lot of our workings & schedules there is no way of implementing these into the reports on Xero e.g. we prepare a Deferred Income schedule that we report on a monthly basis that cannot otherwise be included outside Excel.
There's also no way of reformatting the reports inside Xero, there's only one format that you're given re: fonts, colours etc. and that's it. I'm surprised that Xero has no intentions of creating a live feed into Excel/Google Sheets as I'm aware QuickBooks have announced this capability for 2022.
