Contacts - Search By Postcode
The ability to search for customers by postcode. It's painful having to search for customers by business names when there can be variations in spelling, grammar etc, the customer's name as there may be multiple people ordering. The search function for customers is woefully underpowered compared to other software such as Quickbooks, where you can search by almost any customer details.
Hey community, last week we rolled out an update to the search feature for the contacts list view. You can now search for contacts by postcode, as well as phone number and address 🎉
This'll give you more ways to refine your contact search, and make it easier and quicker to find the correct contact. Thanks again for all your feedback around this idea 😊

It would be good to be able to search for contacts on a variety of fields within the contact - eg suburb, postcode, region, country, account number

We have 600 Mr Jones' on our xero system. How are we supposed to find the right one? We desperately need to be able to search by post code, or village. It's crazy to think that all that data is in Xero and yet we cannot actually utilise it like we did on sage. I also use quickbooks for another business and it also allows us to search more fields that xero.
We left sage on the recommendation of our accountants yet they're knowledge of xero was extremely limited. -

The customer's name may vary but the address stays the same. Searching by address or even just postcode would be so helpful

Would be far better to be able to search for contact by any part of the known information.
There are times when one does not know the customer name or postcode but maybe the road is known.
This would help to find contact. -

I desperately need this. We deal with a company that has 100's of customers on their books. I am sick and tired having to go through everyone to find a customer attached under the umbrella of 1 company. Our last accounting software we used we could do this with. Put in an address, phone number and there it was. This is an absolute game changer not having this feature. Such a basic feature should already be set up on Xero. We are now in talks with our accountants to find a new accounting software or go back to the one we had! Such a shame as Xero does have many good features, but if a business can't use it to their advantage. whats the point!

Currently it is extremely laborious to search for Contacts. I have never come across such an outdated and laborious method to search a contacts database. Got lots of John Smiths? Try their address, oh no, you can ONLY search the Town field so if you enter any large town or city, say London, you're back to square one. Perhaps try searching on Postcode to narrow your search down, no, can't do that either. I suspect I am wasting my time here, nothing will ever be done to improve Xero's Contacts module, it just seems to get more and more convoluted with every update. Sigh.

It is absolutely RIDICULOUS that we cannot search by post code, or any other part of the address for that matter. I have no expectation whatsoever that Xero will improve their product, they seem to be determined to make it as un-user-friendly as possible.
