Xero Sign - Signature Pad
SIGNATURE PAD
It would be great if you could attach a signature pad to the computer so that a client can sign their Tax Returns on the spot without having to print the Tax Returns for the client to sign.
We love the convenience of digital signatures however some clients don't have their emails on their phone, don't have email addresses at all, or just refuse to sign electronically via email when they can just sign their documents when they are in the office.
We think that having the option to sign an an electronic signature pad, like you do at the bank or post office would be a great option that would suit both the client and the office staff.

Hi everyone, after further review we're going to move this idea to 'not planned' as there are no plans for developing this functionality directly from Xero.
As mentioned in my earlier comments here there are a some apps in our Xero App Store that offer 'signature' based services.
It is best to explore these yourself and how they could aid in your business processes. App partners will be best placed to confirm if they provide capabilities to collect signature through a device with your clients. Thanks

Wouldnt this come down to an IT requirement rather than a Xero requirement? Would using a touchscreen laptop or an iPad should resolve this issue?

Thanks for the confirmation, Stacey. Being open, it's quite unlikely we'd develop the device ourselves, however good to get an interest of those that'd be interested in a service for collecting signatures here.
Having a quick look in our app ecosystem(https://apps.xero.com/nz/search?q=signature&function=documents) it looks like there are a few apps that offer 'signature' based services, however you'd need to explore with each if there is the ability to collect signature through a device with your clients.

It would be great if Xero had a compatible device but would also be happy to purchase a device separately.
How would I find out if their was already something in place? I contacted support a few weeks ago and they told me there was nothing available but if I found a third party person they could possibly integrate with Xero, but I haven't had much luck.

To get a bit more understanding here - would you like Xero to develop a signature pad, or be able to connect XeroSign with a device you've purchased?
With our large ecosystem of apps in the marketplace - there maybe one that's already enabled the latter capability.
