Hubdoc - differentiate credit notes from bills
Current Hubdoc behaviour is that the user must choose a single default document type per vendor and all documents for that vendor are treated the same. So if a credit note is uploaded for a vendor that usually sends bills, then that credit note is loaded to Xero as a bill.
It would be good if Hubdoc could differentiate between different document types for the same vendor.
We've reached a milestone! - Hubdoc credit note detection is now available to all Hubdoc users globally who are connected to Xero or QBO!
As mentioned previously, when detected Hubdoc will flag the document for your review, from which you can Publish as a credit note.
Thank you all for your feedback and contributions to this idea 😁

This is something that surly would be quite simple to do. The bills/Invoices or Credit Notes that comes in from a Supplier are usually named as such, he Software should be able to pick that up and select the appropriate document type.

Thank you Xero for taking my idea which was listed under Invoice/Bill - Change transaction type and running with it. (I suggested they merged all similar suggestions so that a more true picture of how many users wanted something was gained).
It is a pity that Xero did this without transferring the VOTES (49) and COMMENTS as well.
My initial comment (and vote) was under Invoice/Bill - Change Transaction type. This is a function within Xero itself, not hubdoc (which we don't have/use).
Our (creditors) invoices are sent directly to either Files or Bills. If they turn out to be a credit note, we cannot change them into one. It would be nice if the software would allow us to select credit note instead of just the options of:
Bill
Sales Invoice
Spend Money
Expense Claim
Receive MoneyPerhaps we could also have:
Bill Credit
Sales Credit?
