Thanks for continuing to engage with us on this, everyone. While it is now possible to include account numbers, as mentioned in our last update we've been continuing to review this idea and look into how we develop the option to show nil balance for accounts when running reports.
Work for this is now in development with our product team. We'll be looking to implement a solution that enables the ability to show nil balance for accounts across the Profit & Loss (Income Statement), Statement of Cash Flows - Direct Method, Trial Balance, Cash Summary, Movements in Equity, Blank report as well as in Report Templates.
As work for this progresses we'll keep you all informed and updated through the idea here.

Very essential for accountants to demonstrate the completeness and query if the submitted reports are correctly coded compared to the other years. We request you more than 1000 times if needed, please include this essential feature in all the reports as an option to include or omit Account numbers with Zero balance. Note: Most of the other accounting softwares has this beautiful features and it will save lots of time in reconciling and comparing individual accounts, sometimes can make accountants Crazy and glue to the seat... More productive hours will be wasted in the absence of this feature, infact will demoralise a good professional who can otherwise effectively devote time to train many future accountants. In fact, Xero software rating will improve drastically with this additional feature. The recent report improvement is an addition and expecting this feature will be provided in the near future. Please note you have given the option to include or omit for Account transaction but the same not given for reports especially Profit & Loss account, Balance Sheet, etc. which are in fact used by the operations manager for decision making purposes.
I hope this will be added in the near future, being a big fanatic and enthusiast of Xero user, will not be left with disappointment I believe.
