    Hi everyone, thank you for your continued input and feedback through this idea. Since my last update as some may have seen we have announced a new plan Xero Simple designed to support non VAT registered sole traders and landlords, as they prepare for the next phase of Making Tax Digital. And, that MTD IT will be available for all Xero business plans - see more on my update here.

    While we understand the desire from small businesses in Xero Tax for the UK, our intention is for this to remain a Partner only feature. We'd highly recommend connecting with a Xero adviser if this is a tool you'd like to make use of.

    I have already commented on this - such a shame. I have had to investigate other software and I will be moving onto it at the end of my tax year for - less than the cost of my current Xero subscription. I would never have investigated the market and discovered a lower cost option if this functionality had been made available to me.

    I have used Xero since 2013, have recommended it and set it up across 9 other businesses and a non-profit.

    Xero will be losing a >12 year customer and all the referrals I created for them. Does not make business sense.

    Xero is leaving a substantial subscription revenue opportunity on the table here - a critical oversight that on which competitors will certainly capitalise.

    I do not need a 'Partner' to press a button for me. I need the functionality in Xero available for me in Xero to do this myself as I do with VAT, PAYE, CIS.

    This means that I, and many others, will go directly to Xero's competitors for this service - crazy.

    Xero's competitors will gain Xero's revenue and market share as customers move over to a SAAS that offers this simple functionality. Xero is missing out on a clear upsell and retention opportunity with their customers.

    From a marketing perspective - word of mouth, influencers, creators - would all be making it clear that Xero does not offer this simple functionality and this could lead to reputational damage and further revenue leakage.

    Some help is required in the CRO domain here to make it clear to Product Management as to the extent of the potential losses in terms of revenue and reputation from not having this functionality available.
