Hi Rory, while it's not possible to set up a default email template for a contact at present you can set a default currency & branding theme.
This might go some way toward helping you communicate with contacts in different locations. 🙂 - See our help article here

Implementing an option to set a default email template would be highly beneficial, especially for clients who pay via GoCardless (direct debit).
The email template would remind them not to make a manual payment, stating, "The amount will be deducted from your nominated account."
I have several clients who forget they have signed up with GoCardless and end up paying twice, which creates a lot of unnecessary work. The branding theme option is not viable in this situation.
