    Thanks so much for sharing this idea, and to everyone who’s added their thoughts and votes.

    We can see why having a clearer view of which VAT return a transaction was included in would be helpful, especially when reviewing bills, invoices, and adjustments.

    So often a client asks "but how do we know that this big reclaim transaction has been included somewhere already, can't we include it in this return as a late claim?" Then I have to trawl through VAT return after VAT return to find the line in the detail to show them "yes, this was included already, see it says so right there" - I know its included somewhere because if it wasn't Xero would be automatically including it as a late claim now. But that's not satisfying for the client, they want me to tell them exactly when it was included, sometimes months after it happened.
