    Have there been any update to this? Coming up to the end of financial year expenses will need to be changed and updated without it impacting historical data

    This is a massive issue which essentially makes Xero project completely unusable. This needs to be rectified urgently.

    Hi everyone, appreciate you highlighting this improvement. We can see how having separate staff cost rates and charge-out rates in Xero Projects could provide a more accurate view of project profitability.

    While Projects doesn't currently support individual internal cost rates for each user, some businesses use Tracking Categories alongside payroll and project reporting to compare revenue and staff costs. We appreciate this isn't the same as having dedicated cost rates built directly into Projects.

    I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest from the community. If there are particular reporting views or profitability metrics you'd like this to support, let us know as those examples help us better understand how this could fit into your workflows.

    We have come across to Xero to streamline our processes and I was very shocked to find out that changing staff cost rates in Xero projects will also change all the historical data that has been previously entered in a project.

    This feature requires urgent attention and remedy as all companies will be negatively impacted by this floor in the program ever financial year when staff wage cost change.

    Please advise how are we meant to track projects when all the historical data will be altered when a simple staff cost rate is updated to a new rate?
