HI team, appreciate not directly within the Customer statement at present and being open we don't have immediate change planned for adding this to the customer statement. However, for the time being you could look to run the Customer Invoice Activity report which has a few more options for the columns and detail shown.
Once you've set up as you like you could save as Custom to make this readily available in your org and export to share externally with a customer/client.

I see this i a really common complaint, but has there been any update on adding this to the report? I've worked with template design and pulling from database in the background and I truly don't believe this is a difficult feature to add to keep xero users happy
. It would greatly benefit our company and our customers to have a running balance column added to the statement template. Every single other statement I receive from our own suppliers can display this data, I'm not understanding why this isn't something already in place on Xero.
It's far too time consuming to add up invoice values when it could be easily displayed on statement balance
