    As per our Spanish Accountant:

I’m writing to inform you know about the new invoicing regulation that takes effect on January 1, which requires that all invoices issued from that date comply with the Verifactu system.

If you’re already using invoicing software, your software provider must update it to meet the Verifactu requirements. Basically, this system prevents issued invoices from being modified — any changes must be made through a corrective invoice. In addition, all issued invoices are automatically sent to the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT), which returns them with a QR code confirming that the invoice complies with Verifactu standards.

If you don’t have invoicing software adapted to Verifactu, there are two options:

Purchase software that’s already compliant with the Verifactu requirements, or
If you only issue a few invoices per month, you can generate them directly through the Tax Agency’s website.
