Global Search Across Bank Accounts | Notifications for user notes | Alerts for floating transactions
Hello team.
I wanted to suggest a few improvements that I believe could significantly enhance the overall experience and efficiency within Xero:
Global Search Across Bank Accounts
Currently, we can only search transactions within the specific bank account being reconciled. This makes it time-consuming to check for similar transactions in other accounts. (esp files with A LOT of bank accounts)
A global search feature that allows us to search by keywords in transaction descriptions across all bank accounts (not just by contact) would be incredibly helpful and save a lot of time.
Notifications for User Notes
It would also be useful if users could receive a notification or visual indicator when notes are added to transactions. We don’t need to know who left the note—just having a flag to show a note exists would improve team communication and ensure important details aren't missed.
Alerts for Floating or Unmatched Transactions
Occasionally, we encounter transactions that don’t match anything—like failed batch payments, transfers to the wrong account, or manual entries in the wrong bank. These can go unnoticed unless we’re actively looking for them.
A notification or dashboard alert for these “floating” transactions would allow us to fix them quickly before they cause further issues.
These features would really help streamline reconciliations, especially for teams managing multiple accounts or working collaboratively. Thank you for considering these (:
