  1. Search job list by client, at the moment you have to scroll through the job list to find the job you are looking for, which when the job list is very large this is frustrating. It is easier to go to clients, search the client, then go to the jobs list. But this is not very time effective when you know what you are looking for or just want to check if there are jobs in there for a certain client.

    Hi everyone, appreciate wanting to keep in the know of the update here. This idea in itself is being delivered in 2 stages:

    First, from today you have the ability to filter by client in the All Jobs table. This means you won't need to navigate away from the new modern table to view jobs by client. You can also multi-select clients, use the client filter in combination with any of the other 10 filters already available and save it to find the client jobs you care about faster.

    As you can guess, stage 2 is the ability to Search by client, which'll be coming shortly. I'll keep you clued in on the development for search here. 🙂

  2. Currently when users take photos of receipts on the app they do not have the ability to add a note. This would be great so that the admin person coding the receipt can receive some additional detail regarding the purchase.

    Thank you for your input, everyone. Our team are currently looking into this idea. However, there's no dates planned on when the ability to add a note feature using mobile app will be released. Rest assured that we're keeping our eyes on this thread, so please continue to add your feedback and vote. For now, we'll move the status of this idea as 'Under review'.

    For the time being, you can use tags as suggested by Vicki, or send your document through email and use the format #note to add your note. If you have other options, feel free to share it 🙂.

  3. I would like to be able to add any available report into a practice Report Pack. At the moment, the available reports are limited to those within the Financial Statement realm.

    I would like to produce a report pack that had all the reports i need for my annual working papers:
    - Employee wage summary
    - Bank Rec
    - Tax depreciation report
    - GST rec reports

    etc etc.

  4. Ability to have one contact record link to multiple client records like a true CRM system would.

    Example: bookkeeper for a client is stored as a contact and may act for many other clients. Currently relationships only exist between 'clients'.

    Thank you everyone that's contributed and got involved in supporting this idea and helping our teams research.
    We're pleased to announce that we're moving the progress of this idea forward with our teams actively working on the the ability to share a contact across clients in Practice Manager. Further to this, we'll continue developments, so you can easily tidy up duplicate contacts.
    I'll be back later in the month to share as this starts rolling out and you can begin making use!

  5. We need the ability to add multiple email addresses for a client. Not extra Contacts, but the main email address for a client. Currently you can only enter one email address, this is the address that tax payment letters (for example) are automatically sent to. However, some clients want these to go to more than one address. We have to keep a separate spread sheet and our Tax administrator needs to manually send tax payment letters to those clients.

  6. Have a separation of Client Edit privileges to allow practice staff to edit Contacts, Groups, and Relationships without having full edit access (e.g. will not be able to edit client address, email address, Agent, etc)

    Thanks for all the detail around the different scenarios a pause function for the timer would help with.


    Our team have been taking interest in ideas in the forums here. 

    With the way the timer works with Practice Manager today, developing the ability to pause this would require extensive work and this isn't something we're able to resource at this time.


    As we enhance integrations through practice manager our practice teams will continue to track ideas on the site here, and share if there's any change.

  8. Integrate workpapers module into Xero with direct links to the Xero trial balance. Importing the trial balance is impractical and time wasting and the allocation of the account balances within workpapers is dependant on the report code allocations. You should have to option to view all the account balances and the net profit or loss from the trial balance when viewing workpapers to ensure all balance sheet accounst are included.

  11. Can you please amend the MANAGEMENT REPORT to have the ability to CHANGE DATES for an individual report in the Report Pack.
    Does it have to have the same date for every report page in the report pack? Almost every single month I need some accounts for the CURRENT MONTH, and others for the YEAR TO DATE, or for a DIFFERENT PERIOD, but every time i change ONE DATE, , EVERY SINGLE REPORT CHANGES. It';s just AWFUL.

Our reporting team are exploring the idea of allowing customers to use different date ranges for individual reports within report packs. They're interested to connect with customers who use report packs (management packs, bank reconciliation packs or custom packs). They'd like to talk to you about;

    Hello everyone, we want to let you know that we’ve recently released the ability to convert PDF bank statements into pre-formatted CSV files in Xero (Read more on our blog for more information).

    Currently, this feature is only available in the US and Canada. We know this tool will also be valuable to other regions and we'll be sure to update you with any new information about it becoming available globally.

    For now, we’ll move the status of this idea to ‘Under review’. So keep voting and give us your input on how this feature can benefit your workflow!

  13. Capital gains tax worksheet - where an capital assets is owned by more than one person say husband and wife 50:50. If the worksheet has been prepared for one taxpayer, have an option to have this copied/ transferred to the other taxpayer similar to rent schedule.

    For property generally there could be just one item but for shares there may be huge number of CGT events.

    Thanks for sharing in this idea, everyone. We understand and appreciate why you'd like to navigate back to your placing within your list of clients, however there is no work for this at present. 

    Current focus for the team is improving and enhancing syncing of clients between Practice Manager and Xero HQ.
    We'll continue to share as this work progresses and the team are able to give more attention to topical ideas like this, here.

  16. It would be a great help if we could update status for a job as and when the timesheet is done.
    At the moment we go to each job and update the status at the end of the day. In my opinion this would save lot my time hovering around.
    I have attached a screenshot in pdf to better explain.

    We would like to request that the GST Return, GST Reconciliation and general ledger reports are able to be included in the report packs at the practice level.

    We are requesting this function to streamline reporting for periodic GST work. We would ideally have two report packs set up at the practice level that all staff can access when preparing clients GST.

  20. We require additional report codes, particularly for financials, in the Adviser reports. More codes are needed to group and map Fixed Assets, and it's necessary to further breakdown Plant and Equipment into categories such as Furniture & Fittings and Office Equipment. We spend excessive time modifying report layouts to achieve this, and automation would be more efficient. Additional user-defined fields that are compatible with our practice would also be advantageous.
