  1. We need the ability to add multiple email addresses for a client. Not extra Contacts, but the main email address for a client. Currently you can only enter one email address, this is the address that tax payment letters (for example) are automatically sent to. However, some clients want these to go to more than one address. We have to keep a separate spread sheet and our Tax administrator needs to manually send tax payment letters to those clients.

  2. We would like Hubdoc to convert an uploaded Bank statement into a csv file.
    So as to easily import the data into Xero to reconcile new bank accounts prior to bank feed connection.

    Hello everyone, we want to let you know that we’ve recently released the ability to convert PDF bank statements into pre-formatted CSV files in Xero (Read more on our blog for more information).

    Currently, this feature is only available in the US and Canada. We know this tool will also be valuable to other regions and we'll be sure to update you with any new information about it becoming available globally.

    For now, we’ll move the status of this idea to ‘Under review’. So keep voting and give us your input on how this feature can benefit your workflow!

  3. Ability to have future tax forms generated for multiple entity types and not just individuals. This will enable practitioners to prepare tax returns for entities that have substituted accounting periods much before the due dates without having to request extensions from the tax office also will give us the ability to work out the timing differences on tax profit more accurately rather than relying on spreadsheets etc.

  4. Capital gains tax worksheet - where an capital assets is owned by more than one person say husband and wife 50:50. If the worksheet has been prepared for one taxpayer, have an option to have this copied/ transferred to the other taxpayer similar to rent schedule.

    For property generally there could be just one item but for shares there may be huge number of CGT events.

  7. Can we have the ability to search for a transaction , by amount , payee or description across all bank accounts. Rather than having to go into each bank account and sort dates etc and than search. Having the option to choose all bank accounts, rather than an individual bank account would be awesome.

  8. We require additional report codes, particularly for financials, in the Adviser reports. More codes are needed to group and map Fixed Assets, and it's necessary to further breakdown Plant and Equipment into categories such as Furniture & Fittings and Office Equipment. We spend excessive time modifying report layouts to achieve this, and automation would be more efficient. Additional user-defined fields that are compatible with our practice would also be advantageous.

  9. Ability to transfer customised reports between practices or other businesses. Currently this is not possible so if a client changes accounting practices then reports do not follow. This is expensive for the client for reports to be redone and totally unnecessary given that all the formatting necessary already exists on another system.

    Thanks for your input here, everyone. Our team is currently looking into adding a document merge feature into their roadmap. However, no dates are planned for when this will be implemented. 


    That said, we’ll move the status of the idea into ‘Under review’, so please continue to add your vote and give us your comment on how this feature can improve your workflow. 


    For now, you can merge your documents outside Hubdoc, then upload/email it into Hubdoc. Feel free to also share some options here on how you merge the documents before you put it into Hubdoc.

  13. When using the start button in the timesheets in XPM to track time on a job, the option for a pause button to pause your time, then to unpause and keep recording your time.

    Thanks for all the detail around the different scenarios a pause function for the timer would help with.


    Our team have been taking interest in ideas in the forums here. 

    With the way the timer works with Practice Manager today, developing the ability to pause this would require extensive work and this isn't something we're able to resource at this time.


    As we enhance integrations through practice manager our practice teams will continue to track ideas on the site here, and share if there's any change.

    Next to the date of birth in Xero PM, could you do a little thingy so the age calculates and shows there?
    I've done my best Canva work in the attached to explain better!
    And chose my most favourite clients as an example :)

    We would like to request that the GST Return, GST Reconciliation and general ledger reports are able to be included in the report packs at the practice level.

    We are requesting this function to streamline reporting for periodic GST work. We would ideally have two report packs set up at the practice level that all staff can access when preparing clients GST.

    Hi everyone, to provide an update relating to the original reports that were raised in this idea, and feedback through the thread. The following reports are all available to add to a report template in Xero HQ;

    • General Ledger Detail 
    • General Ledger Summary 
    • General Ledger Exceptions
    • Tax Depreciation Schedule


    We currently have no plans to make other reports available in report templates.

  16. I would love to see an improvement with Xero XPM NOTES.

    We seem to leave 2 types of notes.

    TYPE 1: is URGENT, we want people within the firm to see it and read it. It would be good if you could select this note to be a banner across the top of the clients screen. Similar to how if the client has a debt it shows at the top. (love that function)

    TYPE 2: is just an ordinary note that is sufficient with the current design.

    It would also be great if you could share notes across multiple clients…

    Hi everyone, though appreciative of the idea. This is a function available through the Xero Tax Product with a Xero advisor, and we don’t have plans for developing this capability from within a Xero organisation.

    You can find an advisor to suit your full business needs through Advisor Connect.

  19. Integrate a bank statement generator into bank feeds so accountants and bookkeepers can send a request directly to the clients bank for a bank statement for quarterly bank reconciliation. Pre-approved by client when bank feed integration is setup. Alternatively, automated bank statements per quarter generated and uploaded to Xero via bank automation.

  20. AU Tax - Error notifications. When a return is rejected by the ATO and appears in the Error tab of the Returns section of Xero Tax, an email should be triggered to alert the tax agent so that the error can be rectified immediately.
