Workpapers - Ability to use Custom Excel Templates
It's been mentioned previously but seems to have fallen off Xero's radar - the ability to use our own Excel workpapers within Xero workpapers would be fantastic.
Thanks for the feedback here, everyone. We get how being able to use custom Excel templates for Workpapers could save you time and power up your use of Xero Workpapers.
Currently, you can export Workpapers data to Excel and then copy info into your preferred template. Allowing you to continue using your custom templates for now.
The good news is we're delivering a new Workpapers solution, and our team are exploring how to enable this functionality within this.
We'll post an update as soon as we have any news to share.

Hi There,
It would be greatly appreciated if you could implement a feature that allows the creation of an Excel worksheet as a new workpaper. This enhancement would enable us to save time by eliminating the need to prepare a separate worksheet before saving it into Xero workpapers.

Hi Adam,
I had a similar idea, the ATO reports W2 figures in a report (and PAYGI if you look) we should be able to export this and import into Xero Workpapers (wether CSV or PDF) so we don't have to manually type these out.
If someone was also smart, they would request with the ATO (as they already have the information) the ability to build a report that shows all these items in order for us to export as a CSV file and import into xero workpapers. -

Due to the lack of good functionality in standard Xero work papers, it is critical if we can continue to use these that we can use custom templates.
