  2. Xero Tax(AU) | Worksheet to calulate number of days not liable for M2 (Medicare levy surcharge)

    When some client has more than 1 health insurance policy and the period of the same are diffrent and sometime overlapping we need the work out this manually which can sometime be wrongly caluclated and can impact the tax estimates.

    Xero should have a worksheet where we can enter policy details along with perioid of coverage to that it can calculae the days acurately. Similar feature is avaialble in MYOB AO and comes in very handy.

  3. Separate the INCOME TAX EXPENSE from the normal operating expenses in the Profit & Loss Statement. for example:
    - Net Profit Before Tax
    - INCOME TAX EXPENSE
    - Net Profit After Tax
    This is the basics of accounting apps.

  4. Create a Registered Office field in the contact details so that for client companies, we can have a quick view of physical/business, postal and registered office details. Currently, we have had to create a custom field, which you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to view.

  5. AU Tax - Error notifications. When a return is rejected by the ATO and appears in the Error tab of the Returns section of Xero Tax, an email should be triggered to alert the tax agent so that the error can be rectified immediately.

    Totally understand how notifications of errors can improve efficiency and handling of returns in Xero Tax (AU). Thanks for all your input and sharing on this idea, everyone.

    While we have a few pieces of work underway atm, this is something our team are looking to develop. We're going to move this to Under Review and as we have more info and progress we'll return to share this with you all, here. 🙂

  6. Be able to edit sent document packs.

    Purpose: for when clients ask you to send the pack to a different email address or you want to rename the document pack, or add another document.

    Hi community, thanks for your support and sharing in the idea here. Diving into your comments, there are a few different ideas that we're picking up on within this one thread;

    1. ability to change the email address/contact of a sent pack
    2. ability to add additional documents to a sent pack, and
    3. the ability to edit metadata of a sent pack

    For the first, we'd like to better understand what is driving the need to change the email address?  is it down to a typo when entering it? or if its on a tax return, is it wrong on the client record etc?

    Although it's not possible to add additional documents to a pack right now, creating and sending a new document pack is essentially the same - Is there any reason this isn't suitable?

    Lastly, it'd be good to get more substance of how the ability to rename a pack…

  7. allow quantities to be added direclty to the ledger and then to feed into reporting templates. manualy entered reporting data is fraught with danger and history is lost from year to year, which means we are replugging data every year...current "semi-automated" practice doesnt seem to fit with xero ethos

  8. Losses carried forward have to be manually entered into XPM tax each year. It would be great if the information flowed through automatically from the tax return so that all we have to do is confirm it matches the IRD assessment. At a minimum it would be great if the losses to carry forward figure from 2023 automatically rolled forward to 2024 once it has been confirmed.

    Thanks so much for your continued feedback and for casting your votes for automating losses carried forward in Xero Tax NZ. We genuinely appreciate you highlighting the challenges you face with the current process, and understand that manually re-entering these figures is a significant pain point for many of you. 

    I wanted to let you know that this idea is currently In discovery - Meaning our product team is actively researching and exploring the best ways to address the need for automated loss carry-forwards, including how different loss types behave and how to ensure a seamless flow of data within Xero Tax.

    We'll be sure to provide another update as soon as we have more information to share on our progress.🙂

  9. Integrate a bank statement generator into bank feeds so accountants and bookkeepers can send a request directly to the clients bank for a bank statement for quarterly bank reconciliation. Pre-approved by client when bank feed integration is setup. Alternatively, automated bank statements per quarter generated and uploaded to Xero via bank automation.

    Sorry for the status confusion here, Simone. Atm, our team has no plan in building the ability to roll forwards the balance sheet items in Workpapers for now. Rest assured that we’ll still gauge the interest in the community here, so keep voting and let us know how this feature can ease your workflow.

  11. The current 'To Sign' list is a combination of tax returns that might be out for signature with the client, or ready for the tax agent to sign. At the moment there is no way for our tax agents to tell which tax returns are ready for them to sign.

  12. It would be very helpful that when a new Tax Return for a new Client is created that the Clients mobile numbers and emails are put in by default and we have the option to set a default for the Clients bank details & postal address to always be selected.
    I know that the information carries on from the previous year regarding the address and bank details but if the information is supplied on the new client profile before the Tax Return is created it should automatically select the Clients Information.

  13. Allow Hubdoc to publish a receipt to an existing 'BILL' in Xero without creating and new transaction and duplicating the amount. Failure to do this forces the user to upload the receipt directly into Xero files instead or opt not to use the BILL feature in Xero and publish transitions in real time from Hubdoc instead. For those wishing to have all their receipts in a magical shoe box in the cloud (Hubdoc) it appears that this would be a way forward.

  14. Have a separation of Client Edit privileges to allow practice staff to edit Contacts, Groups, and Relationships without having full edit access (e.g. will not be able to edit client address, email address, Agent, etc)

I'd like a dashboard showing all clients listed under our organization with all banking details as well as in the moment bank feed status (ie: is the bank feed active, does it needs to be refreshed, has it dropped). This would enable those that have many clients under their organization to work smarter to fix bank feeds as soon as they're down without delays.

  16. Currently the apportionment percentage for the rental is calculated for all income and expenses. However, in reality this is not always the situation. Sage has the ability to change the apportionment of each expense individually as well which is very useful, time-saving and error reducing.

    Hi community, thanks for sharing how we can improve Hubdoc for your business. While we'll continue to review and consider these sort of integrations overtime, we want to open that we don't have plans to integrate Hubdoc with Onedrive at this time. If there is any change or progress to share around this, we'll return to let you all know on this idea.

  19. Integrate workpapers module into Xero with direct links to the Xero trial balance. Importing the trial balance is impractical and time wasting and the allocation of the account balances within workpapers is dependant on the report code allocations. You should have to option to view all the account balances and the net profit or loss from the trial balance when viewing workpapers to ensure all balance sheet accounst are included.

  20. Client access to Report Templates
    In Xero HQ as a partner we have the ability to create report packages however it is only for use within our practice, it would be really helpful if we had the option to share these with our clients.
