Invoicing: Include original bill as attachment when expensing on to client
I would like to be able to attach a bill that has been expensed to a client to the client's invoice so that if client would like to view the expense bills it is available to them.

New reports - Set date without impacting date of layout editor
On the New reports - the ability to set a date criteria on each report without it affecting all the other dates. I know you can set up in custom reports but is a pain.... If i wanted to whiz a new report off for a client sat in a meeting, i don't wnat to have to start and edit the layouts. The dates worked brilliantly in the old style management report. I thought it would work the same in the new ones but really long winded. Please can you make it so we can amend the date criteria at…

Bank reconciliation - Ability to enter dates directly in formats other than dd mmm yyyy
Across Xero it would be very useful (and intuitive) to be able to type dates in formats other than dd mmm yyyy (for example dd/mm/yyyy, ddmmyyyy, etc). The dd mmm yyyy isn't the usual way to enter and clients have commented that it's irritating that they can't type the date in (they use the calendar instead) because it didn't occur to them to try this format, and even when you are aware the habit when typing dates into these boxes is to use one of the more common formats so it can lead to errors
4 votesHi Jonathan! Thanks for sharing this great suggestion about allowing more flexible date formats in Xero. We can see how being able to type a date in different formats (like dd/mm/yyyy) would be a much quicker and more intuitive experience for many, and acknowledge that this functionality is available within other areas of Xero.
We've also added the supporters of this idea to these two similar ideas; New invoicing and Fixed Assets.🙂

Organisations - Indication/Warning/Flag when changing organisation
It is too easy currently to click back/undo one too many times and end up inadvertently posting into a different organisation from the one you were working on.
I was showing a colleague how to do something in the Demo company, but I clicked back too many times and ended up making my dummy postings into a client's organisation instead.
For accountants and bookkeepers who have multiple clients and multiple transactions to post, this could create a lot of unnecessary work that can easily be avoided by some kind of indication that you are changing organisation.4 votesHi team, we understand wanting more of an indicator when you're entering data in the demo org, and with our new navigation experience you'll now have a banner at the top of the screen to let you know that you're in the demo company to avoid wasting time of data entry that should be in your actual org.
We want to be upfront that this banner is only applicable for the demo company, so not exactly what is being asked in this idea but hope it goes some way to helping in scenarios like has been shared here.🙏

Cash coding overpayments to suppliers and customers
Allow bulk cash coding as an overpayment to a supplier so they appear on the aged payables list instead of having to do them individually through find & match.

Inventory - Sales price history in invoice screen
The ability to see the history of an item's selling pricing within the Invoicing screen would be extremely helpful. Sales staff would be able to quickly access the selling price history of items within the Invoice screen to ensure that the latest price is used on invoices.
The ability to see this history within the invoice screen will also remove the need to access a separate report in Xero to view the history of inventory item sales price, which will save a lot of time.
This would also be particularly beneficial for businesses who have frequent changes in their selling…

Create a Xero integration with Financial Cents
Financial Cents has created the best practice manager I have found and would like to integrate with Xero but is not receiving much cooperation. I and several other Xero users would appreciate the integration.
4 votesHi Glenn, we don't develop many integrations ourselves but interested apps can build these themselves. It sounds like this might be something Financial cents are looking into. It might be worth sharing this link to our Developer platform where there are experts and lots of help in developing an integration with Xero.

Ability to switch Xero feature off for invoice/billing - prefilling account code
Have come across Xero "feature" of auto filling the account code on a bill, however the code Xero put in had nothing to do with the expense and never has been. The ability to switch this feature off so clients have to actually look for the correct code would be beneficial.
4 votesHey Lyn, thanks for suggesting this idea!
Xero will use your defaults accounts for a supplier or the inventory item to assign a pre-selected account code to the bill you've created. You can read a bit more about that here.
Just to clarify, is this the feature you're referring to? If so, it's possible to disable this by not entering in defaults for the items or contacts in question 😊

Reporting - Reconcile period report
Provide a report which shows all bank accounts listed alongside the latest reconciled month for each bank account to provide a quick overview of which bank accounts have not been reconciled.
3 votesHi Maria, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this reconciliation period report idea. It’s been helpful to understand how a single view of reconciliation status for all bank accounts could support the way you manage your work.
This idea has now moved to Gaining Support, so it’s open for the community to add votes and comments. If others would find this useful, it’d be great to hear how it could fit into your workflow or any specific use cases you have in mind. That kind of detail really helps guide what we explore next.

Xero files - option to view files as a group, reducing the need to open individually
New Xero files - add option to return to the old way of viewing bills that had been uploaded?
I often log in to 80-100 bills that have been uploaded into files for me to add to a clients xero. Until the recent changes you could click on the oldest one and then scroll through each one viewing them full screen whilst working on another screen to add the information to a bill in xero. Now when you click on the file it opens in a much smaller box on the far side of the screen and you can't scroll…
3 votesThanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. While that exact group view isn't available in the new design, we have a helpful trick: we recommend you try expanding the side view of the file so it fills up most of your screen. When you do that, you'll be able to quickly jump between files just by hitting the Tab and Enter keys on your keyboard. If you run into any trouble with this or need more help, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team :)

Bank Statement Tab Search – Show Account Transactions in Results
I’d like to suggest a small but valuable feature update:
When we search for a bank memo, description, or reference in bank transactions or account transactions (e.g., “UberBV”), Xero does return the transactions, but the categorized account (account head) is not visible in the search results.
In MYOB, when performing the same search, the results also show the categorized account, which helps identify how transactions were coded in the past. This saves time and ensures consistency during reconciliations.
Feature Request:
Please consider updating Xero so that when searching transactions (by memo, description, or reference), the categorized account column also displays…
3 votesHi Abrar, thanks for the thoughtful suggestion and the screenshots showing the account code used when reconciling the bank statement lines. We’ve shared your feedback with the team so they can consider this in future improvements. In the meantime, it’d be great to hear from others who’d benefit—please add your vote and any specific scenarios where this would save time in your workflow. In the meantime as a short-term workaround, run the Account Transactions report for the Bank account and add the Related account column to see where each transaction was coded ✨

My Xero
It would be nice if My Xero could allow sorting by the number of unreconciled transactions. Being able to sort by the number of comments would be nice too
3 votesHi Christine, just making sure I understand what you'd like to see here. Would this be to sort all organisations you have access to from your My Xero page ordered by the # of unreconciled items ?

Checking of Bank Reconcilaition
Would it be possible to have a report that shows the bank transactions and the bill/invoices that it was reconciled with? It's time consuming to check transactions one by one just to find a transaction that was incorrectly reconciled. Please see below example for your reference.
3 votesHi Marleth, the Account Transactions report can probably help you here.
You can customise the report to add a Related account column, where you could then run the report to view the bank account and related account each line was coded to. Does this solve your needs?

power query trial balance
Is there a way to create a sql report for trial balance or some other form of report that can be downloaded by excel power query? Eg a website link that could be accessed privately by sending and excel query? It gets very tedious repeatedly downloading trial balances again and again.
3 votesHi team, I would recommend engaging our Developer community with you idea here where we have experts in the space of exporting and syncing data outside of Xero.

Connecting one bank login to multiple clients.
I would like to be able to link a bank login to multiple clients. So if the client has multiple businesses under one login, I should be able to link the bank feed to each Xero file. Currently I can only have one bank connected to one client if they can see multiple businesses on the same login.
3 votesHi Elizabeth, is there a particular bank your client is with that you're looking to connect to multiple orgs? For some bank feeds this is possible, but not all. It'd be good to know what bank you're using that you'd like to do this with.

Conversion Toolbox - Add a tool to convert Bank Transfers
Can you please add a tool for importing Bank Transfers to the conversion Toolbox. When there are more than two bank accounts, trying to work out the Bank account to transfer to, is a bit hit and miss, causing significant rework.

Invoice - Restore previous single-screen upload and confirmation
In the previous version of Xero, uploading invoices was much faster and more efficient. When uploading an invoice image, we could immediately select whether it was a Sales Invoice or a Bill from the same screen. This saved time and simplified the workflow.
Another important feature in the old system was the visual indicator: once an image was uploaded and recorded as a Sales Invoice or a Bill, there was a clear mark showing that the document had already been categorized. This provided transparency and reduced the risk of duplicate entries.
In the new version, we are required to go…
2 votesWe understand that the previous single-screen invoice upload process helped with efficiency, and it’s great to hear how it supported your workflow.
The idea is now in Gaining support, so the community can vote and join the discussion. Adding details about your workflow can help the community see the value and encourage others to share their experiences too.
We’ll keep this thread updated as the idea develops.
