  2. Having the option to transfer a donation rebate to multiple tax types, tax years and IRD numbers would be great. For example, transferring credit to terminal tax and also provisional tax or tax owing from a previous year.

  3. Some charities maintain separate bank accounts for each fund. This works well where different staff/volunteers have delegated authority over specific funds, e.g. an outreach activity or youth work. It would be SO helpful for coding payments/receipts, if Xero would allow us to set default funds (tracking categories) according to the bank account. This is for coding payments directly from the bank statement, where Xero invoices or bills are not used.

    Yesterday a client explained why she leaves so many transactions unassigned to tracking categories (funds) – she expected that Xero would do it according to the bank account. I think…

  4. I would like to be able to edit the sales tax amounts. Sometimes there is no tax on some items and tax on others so the simplified tax calculation creates an inaccurate tax amount.

  6. People tend to ignore the description field when submitting expenses because it is currently labeled as "optional" even though this is very important for recording purposes. Is it possible to take off the "optional" wording beside the description field??

  8. Automatic BADR lifetime allowance £1m application.

    At present for a gain of over £1m you need to enter two transactions, one with a £1m gain to apply BADR, and the remainder to be charged at 20% (24/25).

    It would be much better if the system knew the lifetime allowance and applied it only up to the limit.

    At present if you put the whole transaction to BADR it will apply 10% to more than £1m which is incorrect.

  9. Currently, we can't add clients from inside a group - we need to be on the client list page. Our process is to create a group, then create the clients, and manually add to groups. It would help to streamline processes to be able to create a client from within the group screen, and have it automatically be added to the group.

  10. The future year returns require to be lodged prior to 15th June as per ATO requirements/specifications.

    If the return is not filed before then, then the team will need to re-enter the information onto the new 2025 tax form

    There is not a button to merge the future year into the new 2025 form and this would be a new feature request

When making distributions to beneficiaries, we are able to distribute more than the income type recorded i.e. if there is $1,000 of interest income you can distribute $10,000 of interest income to a beneficiary if there are other types of income and it doesn't put the total at keypoint 21B in the return to a negative figure. It would be helpful if the over distribution of interest was picked up by the audit check.

  16. Not every business pays wages regularly, especially on startup. When they make a "Unscheduled pay run" some times it uses an old date for the "Payment Date" which maybe over 7 days old. This is a major problem as the Bank ABA file will reject. then they spend hours trying to fix it.

  17. Xero's feature of importing invoices into XPM is great for clients. But there is no way currently to stop importing them for people who aren't clients. Currently - we sell digital products, which we need to keep invoices for. Every time a digital product is sold, it creates a new client in XPM. They aren't clients.There should be the option to only import if a client exists in XPM.

I work for an organisation that manages multi-millions in the public sector, and everyone in the team wants to move to Xero; unfortunately, with the nature of our finances, we need many cost-centres to sort the finances relating to each program. If Xero had the option of more than 4 cost-centres, say up to 50, then we would move to Xero in a heartbeat.

    At present we use Reckon as it allows for unlimited cost-centres, as this is the main feature we absolutely need for running our finances. We also use Xero for payroll but then do a manual journal…

    Hi Sydnee, when you say cost centres would you be referring to the Tracking feature in Xero?

    Might be worth having a play in the demo company, but it sounds like you could possibly use one Tracking Category for Cost Centres, and list each of your cost centres as a separate Tracking option. You can have up to 100 options within a single Tracking category. See more on the set up in Xero central.
