  1. Currently, when mapping the chart of accounts from your financial statements in Xero Blue to the tax return labels in XPM, you can only map to labels in the business schedule section of the return.

    This means that accounts relating to other tax labels, such as rental property schedules, or other deductions, must be noted as "do not import", and then entered manually.

    It would be great if there was the ability to map these accounts, in addition to those relating to the business schedule, as it would lead to further efficiency gains for accountants using Xero's suite of products.

  2. Returns Management User Interface (UI) - "All" Tab Improvements/Customization

    To improve handling returns by adding bulk selection and status update functionalities on the "All" tab of the Returns Management interface. Also, suggesting having a customizable UI to best fit our workflow preference.

    Key Features:

    Action Buttons
    - Located in the table header, these buttons perform bulk actions such as "Approved", "Out to Sign", and "Sign". They remain disabled unless one or more return items are selected.

  3. XPM has been updated recently (April 2025) and the update has removed the re-ordering of tasks function. We used the re-ordering function to put all tasks in chronological order e.g. monthly payroll tasks, VAT returns, year end accounts were all arranged in date order. Since the update all the re-ordering that we have completed on jobs have been changed and now all tasks are non-chronological and in a jumbled order. This is very frustrating. Please could Xero re-instate the ability to re-order tasks as required? These changes are a backwards step.

Very disappointed to hear that you haven't considered how the new reporting standards for Tier 3 entities is going to effect the reporting templates i.e. the requirement to split grants into multiple sub-categories, which is only one area of the new reporting standards that needs to be expanded.
    Would you be able to make this a high priority for the product team and provide a reasonable timeframe as to when this will be considered for further development as obviously we need to meet our obligations and your reporting mapping is no longer going to make this easy for us given…

  6. It would be really helpful if invoice templates could adjust automatically based on client type, instead of having to create and assign multiple templates manually.

    For example:
    1. Individuals and Partnerships would include the 'Attention' field, but not include the 'Contact Name' field
    2. Company invoices would include the 'Attention' field, but not the 'Contact Name' field
    3. Trusts, SMSFs, and Charities would include both the 'Attention' field and the 'Contact Name' field

    This would save time, reduce errors, and ensure invoices are always addressing the legal entity correctly for each client type.

  7. Before the update, we were able to add settings like Report Codes to favourites, so it would appear automatically on the drop down list. Can you please reinstate the ability to add specific settings to favourites

  11. In the new staff experience, it's only possible to assign staff members the Advisor or None role for a Xero organisation. It would be good to have blue Xero organisation roles available to select so to give my staff the correct permission from within practice tools (HQ/XPM)

  13. Can we please have a relationship type for 'Bookkeeper of'.
    We have third party bookkeepers who act for several clients and it would be useful to add them as a contact and associate them as the clients bookekeper.

  15. To be able to have a short cut on the "new" Accounting tab for Financial Settings to have easy access to lock data back where it was.

    Please stop making everything take longer to do Xero and start asking those of us who use Xero instead of developers coming up with "ideas" that don't work.

  17. Being able to add a description condition with a containing word or exact words would be a time saver.

    As an example, I am currently recoding some transactions in an equity account that contains over 700 transactions. I need to recode at least 10+ of these transactions to another account. In my case, if I were able to add a particular word the recodes would take less than a minute to complete. However, I have spent about 15 minutes on these recodes.

  18. On the Fixed Asset Register can there be a column for showing Tracking Catergories?

    We deal with clients in the Hospitality Industry and a portion of them operate multiple sites.

    It would be handy to have an option in the Fixed Asset Register so we can quickly identify which assets belong to Pub A, Pub B, Pub C etc.

    The inclusion of a filter to only show the Fixed Assets of a particular site would also be a huge benefit.

    We know that the Register can be exported to Excel which will show the Tracking Catergories but something within Xero…

  19. Since the XPM update (April 2025) milestones in XPM are now at the bottom of jobs. They should be at the top of the job (as they were previously) so that they are one of the first things we see on a job. We use milestones to remind us of important filing dates so relegating this to the bottom of jobs requires too much scrolling and is very frustrating.

  20. Implement accounting periods rather than running from transaction dates. We have to close the period for management accounts by day 7 but there will be supplier invoices or expenses appearing after that date. Currently we have to manually amend the date on posting to be the first date of the open period. If accounting periods were implemented, we would be able to allow a late transaction through in the current open period rather than amending the transaction date.
