Customer Support - Create an idea from a case on Xero central
I can no longer comment on the original idea
what I would like is a button on a support case which allows me to create a product idea linked to the support case, so i don't need to copy and paste the entire case history into the product idea
10 votesAah I see what you mean now, and appreciate you sharing more detail, Anna.
In terms of the original idea, you can reply directly to the email update you received about the status if there is extra detail you'd like to share with the team - In this case I've merged your original idea with this one to keep the information all together.
We don't have immediate plans for this, but will keep considering how we improve their efficiency when engaging and sharing feedback. We'll track the support here and share if there are any updates. Thanks

"Trust this device" for 7 or 30 days (like Myob)
"Trust this device" for 7 or 30 days (like Myob)
I am tired of having my work flow interupped to enter 2FA at random times in the middle of the day. Could we have Trust this device for longer than 24 hours??
Over time it gets really really annoying to do this on a daily basis.

Reporting - Real-time ESG insights inside Xero to help small businesses understand their impact
Small businesses increasingly want to understand the environmental and social impact of their spending — but ESG tools are complex, expensive, and built for large enterprises.
Xero is uniquely placed to change that.
Idea:
Embed lightweight, real-time ESG context directly into Xero, so small businesses can understand the impact behind everyday transactions — without extra systems or reporting burden. What this could look like:
• ESG indicators at transaction or supplier level (e.g. climate, labour, governance risk)
• Simple, plain-English insights alongside payments and invoices
• Optional summaries over time (e.g. “This quarter’s spend impact”)
• No scores to manage…3 votesHi Andrew , thanks for raising this idea here. We understand the business need to report on environmental and social impact for your business. For this reason, we're moving this idea to gain more support from the community. Now it's upto the community to get behind it and support it. Feel free to share this idea with your friends and colleagues who would also benefit from this feature being added on so they can share their thoughts and add on a vote as well! :)

Subscription & Billing - Send payment failure alerts to the Billing Contact
It's a huge problem for me that when billing fails for an entity, no notification is sent to the billing contact, only the subscriber (me) gets notified. If I'm on holiday, and something goes wrong with billing, people get locked out of the platform.
There should at least be an option for the billing contact to receive these messages, if not the default setting. I can't think of any reason I wouldn't want my billing contact to know that the payment to Xero has failed. My book-keeper doesn't know something has gone wrong until she is locked out of Xero.
…
2 votesHi Alan, thanks for sharing this idea. This would be useful for situations when a payment fails, allowing a nominated user to be notified as well so action can be taken quickly and avoid being locked out.
A simple workaround for now is setting up an email forwarding rule from noreply@post.xero.com
or subscription.notifications@post.xero.com
to your bookkeeper or Billing Contact. It’s not a permanent fix, but it can help make sure the right person sees the alert sooner.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would value more flexibility in who receives these notifications. If this would help your team, please add your vote or share your experience—it really helps us understand the impact.

JAX - Allow JAX in Demo Company
We would like our staff to be able to experiment with JAX outside of our clients accounts - to do this, we would like JAX to be available in the Demo Company and it is not currently.
4 votesThanks for your feedback on enabling JAX in Demo Company. We appreciate you sharing how important it is for your team to explore JAX's capabilities in a test environment.
We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

cash flow manager extend date range
Cash Flow Manager is a great tool but please can it cover 52 weeks not just 26 weeks, as at present you can not see where your business will be in 12 months time?

Pricing Plans - Add Partnership Tax Return (PTR) to base Xero package
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) allows partners to fill out and submit a Partnership Tax Return (PTR) without being a registered tax agent or accountant. However, TPR is currently only available in Xero Tax, which is a professional tax preparation software package designed specifically (and only) for registered tax agents and accountants.
Can I request that (like BAS and TPAR) the PTR report and lodgement features be made available in the base Xero software?
7 votesThanks for sharing your idea to add the Partnership Tax Return (PTR) to our base Xero packages.
We're grateful for your engagement and letting us know the changes that matter to you and your business partnership.
We've reviewed your idea and now it can gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others can now comment to share additional detail about how including PTR lodgement in the standard Xero software could improve their experience.

Organisation Settings - Show Xero subscription plan in Settings
At the moment when you go to Organisation Settings > Subscription and billing (e.g. https://go.xero.com/Settings/ManageSubscription), it says "Change plan and update credit card details Managed by XXXX"
If we are XXXX - we don't see either of those things, only a button to take us somewhere else to Manage the plan.
If we are not XXXX - we don't see either of those things. How dumb?
Just show the Xero subscription/plan so we know what it is.
5 votesHi Sam, appreciate you sharing this idea — we understand where you're coming from.
Being able to quickly see your Xero subscription plan from within your organisation’s settings would definitely make things easier. Having to jump to a different section just to check your plan or see what features are included isn’t ideal, especially when you’re trying to make quick decisions.
At the moment, this info isn’t shown in the Organisation Settings, but you can view your plan by going to My Xero from the main menu and clicking on the Subscriptions tab. That’s where you’ll find your current plan and any add-ons.
This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. If this change would make things simpler for you, feel free to vote or leave a comment — your feedback helps us understand what matters most and where we can improve.

Xero Certification - Suggestion to reduce or remove the 24-hour lockout period
24 HOUR LOCK WHEN CERTIFICATION TEST "FAILS" NEEDS REMOVED IMMEDIATELY.
We have a trainee going through his Xero certification. He timed out the first test. He is now locked out for 24 hours.
We can't have him spending weeks doing this.
LOCK NEEDS REMOVED IMMEDIATELY
4 votesHi team, we appreciate the feedback however want to be upfront here that we don't have any plans on removing the 24 hours lock off period - This 24 hour cooling off period is designed to give a user time to visit the learning needed to close any skills gap.
Certifications is a test of a users ability to carry out tasks in Xero accurately.
We generally recommend completing the full learning course first as it covers everything a user needs to know to pass.
The direct assessment route is really for those that have been certified before. You use Xero daily and have all the skills, and are just needing to get certified.

Subscriber change over
The subscriber has left the business. I have access but cannot invite support to the ticket. I need to change the subscriber to me. I am the new Director. Please contact me

Xero Film Production Accounting Software
I would love Xero to create a piece of software for Film Production Accountants - Xero4Film!
I work doing some film production accounting/bookkeeping for feature film companies in the UK as well as doing standard accounting for small businesses. Currently the software used for film productions seems to be Eclipse or Smart Accounting. Neither of these are very user friendly and I wondered if there was a possibility of Xero bringing out a version of its accounting software that could be used by Film Production Accountants. There are a few other software options out there eg Creative Computing but they…

Too much clutter
When reconciling transactions there is now so much clutter on the page it is slowing me down. I find the blue auto reconciled info is not useful and there are two buttons for turning auto- reconcile off/on, making the screen very messy.
The reconciling information I am working on is pushed down to the bottom third of my screen, how is this "beautiful accounting"?1 voteThanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Ideas. We appreciate you taking time to let us know how we could improve Xero for you.

Issue: Payment deletion triggers uncontrolled automatic charges and reminders
ISSUE: Payment deletion triggers uncontrolled automatic charges and reminders
When a payment is deleted in Xero (even to correct a reconciliation mistake), it automatically re-triggers both autopay and invoice reminder notifications without any warning or opportunity to prevent it. This created a situation where:
- A bookkeeper deleted a payment to reconcile what appeared to be a duplicate charge in Stripe
- This action caused Xero to mark the invoice as unpaid and automatically re-charge an autopay client through Stripe without ANY notification, which cannot be recalled.
- A second client received an invoice reminder and paid again manually
THE PROBLEM:

Assurance dashboard - don't flag archived contacts as having the same bank account
I'm in the Assurance Dashboard in a client's datafile, doing a quick audit trail check for things that might need fixing or looking at, and I noticed that there were a couple of contacts being flagged as having the same bank account. So I looked at those contacts, and yes they do have the same bank account... Because one of them was merged into the other and then archived!
It's been dealt with, and should no longer be coming up as flagged for checking.

Automatically allocate Subscription Sales into Unearned Income and Earned Income based on timing
Allow front-loaded revenue (such as annual subscriptions or project fees) to be automatically allocated to Unearned Income (i.e. a liability) and then gradually transferred to earned Subscription Sales Revenue.
As a small business owner which sells hundreds of annual subscriptions to our service (different price packages and different start dates for each customer), it would be really handy to know how much of that received money has been 'earned' and how much remains 'Unearned Income'. On Day-1, 100% of it is unearned income (and would need to be refunded if we close as a business), on Day-183, 50% is in…

Xero App Store - Add a link to each app's website
When we go to the apps directory, and click on an app we are interested, they are usually associated with an external company. For instance, Crypto websites that consolidate our crypto transactions, then can be imported into Xero.
But when I go to the information pages about the apps, there is no link I can find to the actual website of the company. There are usually links to support, or social media.
Please go one step further and just put in the official website.
The reason for this is because sometimes we are researching what services actually connect with Xero…

As you mentioned, the app listings currently have links to their social media pages, but not directly to their website.
