Xero Film Production Accounting Software
I would love Xero to create a piece of software for Film Production Accountants - Xero4Film!
I work doing some film production accounting/bookkeeping for feature film companies in the UK as well as doing standard accounting for small businesses. Currently the software used for film productions seems to be Eclipse or Smart Accounting. Neither of these are very user friendly and I wondered if there was a possibility of Xero bringing out a version of its accounting software that could be used by Film Production Accountants. There are a few other software options out there eg Creative Computing but they are very costly. I am not sure if maybe the UK market isn’t big enough to make this worthwhile and it might also not be of any interest to Xero! But just in case it is I thought I’d ask.
I speak to a lot of other people in the UK film industry - accountants, tax credit specialists etc.. and they all hate Eclipse and Smart Accounting and are hoping for something better to break into the market. Lots of them have experience of using Xero and so it would be a perfect transition if there was Xero4Film !
