  1. I can no longer comment on the original idea

    what I would like is a button on a support case which allows me to create a product idea linked to the support case, so i don't need to copy and paste the entire case history into the product idea

    Aah I see what you mean now, and appreciate you sharing more detail, Anna.

    In terms of the original idea, you can reply directly to the email update you received about the status if there is extra detail you'd like to share with the team - In this case I've merged your original idea with this one to keep the information all together.

    We don't have immediate plans for this, but will keep considering how we improve their efficiency when engaging and sharing feedback. We'll track the support here and share if there are any updates. Thanks

  2. It's a huge problem for me that when billing fails for an entity, no notification is sent to the billing contact, only the subscriber (me) gets notified. If I'm on holiday, and something goes wrong with billing, people get locked out of the platform.

    There should at least be an option for the billing contact to receive these messages, if not the default setting. I can't think of any reason I wouldn't want my billing contact to know that the payment to Xero has failed. My book-keeper doesn't know something has gone wrong until she is locked out of Xero.

    Hi Alan, thanks for sharing this idea. This would be useful for situations when a payment fails, allowing a nominated user to be notified as well so action can be taken quickly and avoid being locked out.

    A simple workaround for now is setting up an email forwarding rule from noreply@post.xero.com

    or subscription.notifications@post.xero.com

    to your bookkeeper or Billing Contact. It’s not a permanent fix, but it can help make sure the right person sees the alert sooner.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would value more flexibility in who receives these notifications. If this would help your team, please add your vote or share your experience—it really helps us understand the impact.

  3. Small businesses increasingly want to understand the environmental and social impact of their spending — but ESG tools are complex, expensive, and built for large enterprises.

    Xero is uniquely placed to change that.

    Idea:
    Embed lightweight, real-time ESG context directly into Xero, so small businesses can understand the impact behind everyday transactions — without extra systems or reporting burden.

    What this could look like:
    • ESG indicators at transaction or supplier level (e.g. climate, labour, governance risk)
    • Simple, plain-English insights alongside payments and invoices
    • Optional summaries over time (e.g. “This quarter’s spend impact”)
    • No scores to manage…

    Hi Andrew , thanks for raising this idea here. We understand the business need to report on environmental and social impact for your business. For this reason, we're moving this idea to gain more support from the community. Now it's upto the community to get behind it and support it.   4. Create a "low bandwidth" version this is now so much slower than the old page on slow internet connections 271 resource requests is just stupid for a home page and 1=nearly 50mb of resources? not everyone has fiber to the building and a 250mb/s connection.

    Hi Geoffery, thanks for sharing this! We can see how a smoother experience on slower connections would make working in Xero more seamless, especially when you’re remote or have limited internet.

    Right now, using the Xero mobile app for lighter tasks or clearing your browser cache can help speed things up, but we know a dedicated low-bandwidth mode would make day-to-day work even easier.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how much of a difference this would make.

  5. We would like our staff to be able to experiment with JAX outside of our clients accounts - to do this, we would like JAX to be available in the Demo Company and it is not currently.

  6. At the moment when you go to Organisation Settings > Subscription and billing (e.g. https://go.xero.com/Settings/ManageSubscription), it says "Change plan and update credit card details Managed by XXXX"

    If we are XXXX - we don't see either of those things, only a button to take us somewhere else to Manage the plan.
    If we are not XXXX - we don't see either of those things.

    How dumb?

    Just show the Xero subscription/plan so we know what it is.

    Hi Sam, appreciate you sharing this idea — we understand where you're coming from.

    Being able to quickly see your Xero subscription plan from within your organisation’s settings would definitely make things easier. Having to jump to a different section just to check your plan or see what features are included isn’t ideal, especially when you’re trying to make quick decisions.

    At the moment, this info isn’t shown in the Organisation Settings, but you can view your plan by going to My Xero from the main menu and clicking on the Subscriptions tab. That’s where you’ll find your current plan and any add-ons.

    This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. If this change would make things simpler for you, feel free to vote or leave a comment — your feedback helps us understand what matters most and where we can improve.

  7. The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) allows partners to fill out and submit a Partnership Tax Return (PTR) without being a registered tax agent or accountant. However, TPR is currently only available in Xero Tax, which is a professional tax preparation software package designed specifically (and only) for registered tax agents and accountants.

    Can I request that (like BAS and TPAR) the PTR report and lodgement features be made available in the base Xero software?

  8. Could it be possible to create a video to explain about the particular features of the Xero function in their respective page? I am trying to better understand visually on how to navigate and use a particular feature within Xero.

    If not at the very least, link me back to the lesson where I can get on the feature in the Xero Advisor course? It would be helpful for me to revisit the topic.

    Hi Marc, thanks for your engagement and for this excellent suggestion on improving our Xero Central resources.

    We've reviewed your idea about making our support content more visual by adding demonstration videos or linking back to specific lessons from our help articles. We agree that for many people, seeing a feature in action is incredibly helpful.

  9. I'm in the Assurance Dashboard in a client's datafile, doing a quick audit trail check for things that might need fixing or looking at, and I noticed that there were a couple of contacts being flagged as having the same bank account. So I looked at those contacts, and yes they do have the same bank account... Because one of them was merged into the other and then archived!

    It's been dealt with, and should no longer be coming up as flagged for checking.

    Hi Freya, thanks for your feedback regarding the Assurance Dashboard. You’ve highlighted an important point about how archived and merged contacts are still being flagged.

    We’ve moved your suggestion to Gaining Support, meaning it’s now live for community voting. This allows us to monitor the idea's momentum and better understand its impact on our users.

    To clear the flag manually, you can briefly restore the contact, update the bank account details by adding a number to it, and archive it again. While we understand this isn't an ideal solution, it will resolve the immediate display issue. If you have any other questions, our support team is always here to help.

  10. When we go to the apps directory, and click on an app we are interested, they are usually associated with an external company. For instance, Crypto websites that consolidate our crypto transactions, then can be imported into Xero.

    But when I go to the information pages about the apps, there is no link I can find to the actual website of the company. There are usually links to support, or social media.

    Please go one step further and just put in the official website.

    The reason for this is because sometimes we are researching what services actually connect with Xero…

    Thanks for submitting your idea here, we appreciate you taking time to let us know how we could improve the App Store for you.

    As you mentioned, the app listings currently have links to their social media pages, but not directly to their website.

    For now, you might use these social media pages to get links to their websites. In the meantime, our team will check into this and your suggestion can now begin to build support with votes from other community members.

  11. Make the reactivate process easier. Currently you need to change the selection to "All" under myxero. Hidden in the filter icon, could be more obvious with a visible drop down when you click subscription tab.

    Current process
    Select the Subscriptions tab.
    Click the filter icon next to the search bar, select All, and search by the organisation name.

  12. When we receive communication from Xero regarding a case query, it is necessary to log into Xero again to read the answer
    This is time consuming and annoying- would love a fix for this.
    Is there a way to view the answer and perhaps log in when we are ready to respond?

  13. Things like tax returns change fairly frequently. Not all new features are entirely self-explanatory. Xero Support's Articles are simple and aimed at giving new users basic information, but often lack the detail to be used as an ongoing resource.

    I'd suggest adding changelogs to Xero Central Support pages/articles for existing products that have been updated.

    For example the IR6 tax return has changed in the 2025 year to match tax law. Estates are still able to use the 33% tax rate in their first 4 years, but the return defaults to the 39% rate.

  15. There isn't anywhere in Xero where we can add brief feedback. This would be helpful to have in the help menu please.

    For example there is a new issue after the new updates on invoicing - this feature would allow a quick notification to Xero that something needs fixed or we are super impressed with new changes! It takes too long to add something to product ideas (like now), to be ignored or gather a lot of voters before something is fixed. Same with raising a case, most of the time it wont be a fix, we get directed back…

    Thanks for your input to product ideas, Nadine.

    Though there is no direct way to leave feedback in the product atm, there are now many ways our team's are surfacing in product messaging to updates users of a change and request feedback especially through staggered releases.

    We'll continue to consider how and when is best to engage with customers through Xero and will keep a watchful eye on support for your idea here.

  16. Xero now has a vast database of businesses many of which are profitable, and many of which are probably less so. At any rate, it has access many savvy business individuals who have capital willing to invest within and outside of their boarders. Perhaps it could create a meeting place for willing buyers and sellers of businesses. I for one am ready to retire. My business is marginal but has opportunities for someone who wants to get into my domestic market.

    Hi team, we appreciate the interest for this idea and improvoing the product ideas forums for your use.

    As noted in my last response currently when logged into Xero Product ideas there is the option to go to Settings & activity from your initials in the top right of the screen Within this page you select the option to 'Export my data'. This'll email you a few files, one of which is a CSV of all the ideas you've started and the URL to be able to view these online.

    We appreciate wanting a simpler in product view of this and will continue to consider how we could solve for this as we develop this space. I'll share if there is any progress here.
