  1. As is frequently reported in the news, cybercrimes are prevalent and increasing. In light of a security incident experienced by one of our own clients - additional security measures to avoid cyber security issues need to be addressed.
Being able to safely send invoices electronically that have some type of protection on them is of utmost importance.

One small step that can easily be made within Xero is to remove the word 'Invoice' from the subject line of the email which basically can lead hackers to where the dollars are.
This can be updated in your email settings- however secondary…

Thanks so much for taking the time to share this idea with us.

We’ve now moved it to our Gaining support stage. This means it’s on our radar and we’ll be keeping an eye on how much interest it gets from other Xero users.

The best next step is to encourage any friends or colleagues who’d also benefit from this to add their vote and a short comment on how it would help them. More support and real‑world examples make it easier for our product teams to understand the impact when we’re prioritising future work.

While we can’t promise if or when this will be built, your feedback genuinely helps shape what we focus on next, so thank you again for sharing it 🙂.

  2. I can no longer comment on the original idea

what I would like is a button on a support case which allows me to create a product idea linked to the support case, so i don't need to copy and paste the entire case history into the product idea

Aah I see what you mean now, and appreciate you sharing more detail, Anna.

In terms of the original idea, you can reply directly to the email update you received about the status if there is extra detail you'd like to share with the team - In this case I've merged your original idea with this one to keep the information all together.

We don't have immediate plans for this, but will keep considering how we improve their efficiency when engaging and sharing feedback. We'll track the support here and share if there are any updates. Thanks

  3. At the moment when you go to Organisation Settings > Subscription and billing (e.g. https://go.xero.com/Settings/ManageSubscription), it says "Change plan and update credit card details Managed by XXXX"

If we are XXXX - we don't see either of those things, only a button to take us somewhere else to Manage the plan.
If we are not XXXX - we don't see either of those things.

    How dumb?

Just show the Xero subscription/plan so we know what it is.

Hi Sam, appreciate you sharing this idea — we understand where you're coming from.

Being able to quickly see your Xero subscription plan from within your organisation’s settings would definitely make things easier. Having to jump to a different section just to check your plan or see what features are included isn’t ideal, especially when you’re trying to make quick decisions.

At the moment, this info isn’t shown in the Organisation Settings, but you can view your plan by going to My Xero from the main menu and clicking on the Subscriptions tab. That’s where you’ll find your current plan and any add-ons.

This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. If this change would make things simpler for you, feel free to vote or leave a comment — your feedback helps us understand what matters most and where we can improve.

  4. Please update Notification Settings to allow "Job Managers" to be notified when they have been assigned to a job. Currently, only 'Staff' are able to be notified.

Thanks for starting this conversation, Mihir..

We can see how automatic notifications when a job is assigned could help Job Managers stay on top of new work and reduce the need to manually check their job lists.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If this is a feature you'd like to see, please keep voting and share how notifications would fit into your team's workflow.

  5. We would like our staff to be able to experiment with JAX outside of our clients accounts - to do this, we would like JAX to be available in the Demo Company and it is not currently.

Thanks for your feedback on enabling JAX in Demo Company. We appreciate you sharing how important it is for your team to explore JAX's capabilities in a test environment.

We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

Along with votes, other members can now comment to share additional detail about how your idea could improve their experience with Xero.

  6. The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) allows partners to fill out and submit a Partnership Tax Return (PTR) without being a registered tax agent or accountant. However, TPR is currently only available in Xero Tax, which is a professional tax preparation software package designed specifically (and only) for registered tax agents and accountants.

Can I request that (like BAS and TPAR) the PTR report and lodgement features be made available in the base Xero software?

Thanks for sharing your idea to add the Partnership Tax Return (PTR) to our base Xero packages.

We're grateful for your engagement and letting us know the changes that matter to you and your business partnership.

We've reviewed your idea and now it can gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others can now comment to share additional detail about how including PTR lodgement in the standard Xero software could improve their experience.

  7. Could it be possible to create a video to explain about the particular features of the Xero function in their respective page? I am trying to better understand visually on how to navigate and use a particular feature within Xero.

If not at the very least, link me back to the lesson where I can get on the feature in the Xero Advisor course? It would be helpful for me to revisit the topic.

Hi Marc, thanks for your engagement and for this excellent suggestion on improving our Xero Central resources.

We've reviewed your idea about making our support content more visual by adding demonstration videos or linking back to specific lessons from our help articles. We agree that for many people, seeing a feature in action is incredibly helpful.

Your suggestion is now open to gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others can now comment to share how more visual content like videos could improve their learning experience and help them better understand Xero's features.

Hi team, we appreciate the interest for this idea and improvoing the product ideas forums for your use.

As noted in my last response currently when logged into Xero Product ideas there is the option to go to Settings & activity from your initials in the top right of the screen Within this page you select the option to 'Export my data'. This'll email you a few files, one of which is a CSV of all the ideas you've started and the URL to be able to view these online.

We appreciate wanting a simpler in product view of this and will continue to consider how we could solve for this as we develop this space. I'll share if there is any progress here.

  9. Have invoices from Xero in a more logical place, like under subscription and billing. The way it is now isn't logical and always takes more time. It would also help with efficiency if the Xero invoice was attached as a PDF to the email saying you've been billed or available via the Xero app.

This seems like such a simple fix from Accounting software.

Appreciate your feedback here, Jessica. While subscription invoices are available to view from the Billing accounts tab under Subscription & billing it sounds like you're wanting the view option to be more prominent and directly available from Subscription and billing. We'll get a better sense of the interest for this from the community here.

We have an existing idea around being able to attach a PDF of the invoice to the email you receive and I've added your vote for this so we can keep you updated here.

  10. It's a huge problem for me that when billing fails for an entity, no notification is sent to the billing contact, only the subscriber (me) gets notified. If I'm on holiday, and something goes wrong with billing, people get locked out of the platform.

There should at least be an option for the billing contact to receive these messages, if not the default setting. I can't think of any reason I wouldn't want my billing contact to know that the payment to Xero has failed. My book-keeper doesn't know something has gone wrong until she is locked out of Xero.

Hi Alan, thanks for sharing this idea. This would be useful for situations when a payment fails, allowing a nominated user to be notified as well so action can be taken quickly and avoid being locked out.

A simple workaround for now is setting up an email forwarding rule from noreply@post.xero.com

    or subscription.notifications@post.xero.com

to your bookkeeper or Billing Contact. It’s not a permanent fix, but it can help make sure the right person sees the alert sooner.

I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would value more flexibility in who receives these notifications. If this would help your team, please add your vote or share your experience—it really helps us understand the impact.

  11. The automatic, timed log-out leaves data visible on screen for a few seconds before reverting to a log-in screen. This may be browser specific (I tend to use Chrome) but there is a small security or privacy risk when this happens if whoever sees it isn't meant to. And once you know it happens, you can plan for it. I haven't tried it yet, but a screengrab seems a simple approach. I'm not clear on the mechanism to fix this, however, but I thought it would be a good, if trivial, improvement.

Hi Robert, appreciate you raising another request to share feedback on your original idea. I've merged these together and re-opened the initial idea so we can continue to build interest through this.

Just to note, if your idea is moved to Feedback comments and voting are closed however if you have additional feedback you can rate and respond to the update to share additional information and this will be reviewed by out community manager to take action if needed.

From your detail here it sounds like you'd like any information on the screen blanked out for privacy when you're timed out - Would that be correct?

Thanks again for engaging with us through these forums.

  12. Ability to be able to subscribe (via email) to Status updates and incidents for all or selected options within Xero, via the Status page.

A problem with Projects the other day, there was NO alert, no notification. I was entering data thinking it was being saved. Only by accident did I notice my whole day of adding time was gone, went to the discussions then to the status page to see the incident report.

If I was aware of the issue, I could have done manual recording of time.

Other brands like Webflow, Squarespace and many others do this.

Thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We're sorry to hear about the issues that you experienced with Projects recently. 13. In the different Sales and Purchases entry and edit areas in Xero the save or update buttons are in different places, one has it at the top of the screen and the other at the bottom. This is really annoying and would be way more efficient if they were both the same. Clearly two different people set them up or the same person was on a different mood when they created the two. I get this, I'm inconsistent all the time, its just super annoying in a major software package!

Thanks for sharing this idea. We can understand how having the Save and Update buttons in a consistent location across transaction pages could make moving between different workflows feel more intuitive.

We've updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest and sharing your feedback with the product team as they consider future improvements to the experience.

  14. Create a button on Jax that allows the dialog box to "Pop Out" or detach from Xero. It makes no sense that I have to copy directions from Jax to paste into Word so I can follow the often multi-step instructions that cannot be done while Jax is active.

  15. Small businesses increasingly want to understand the environmental and social impact of their spending — but ESG tools are complex, expensive, and built for large enterprises.

Xero is uniquely placed to change that.

    Idea:
Embed lightweight, real-time ESG context directly into Xero, so small businesses can understand the impact behind everyday transactions — without extra systems or reporting burden.

    What this could look like:
    • ESG indicators at transaction or supplier level (e.g. climate, labour, governance risk)
    • Simple, plain-English insights alongside payments and invoices
    • Optional summaries over time (e.g. “This quarter’s spend impact”)
    • No scores to manage…

Hi Andrew , thanks for raising this idea here. We understand the business need to report on environmental and social impact for your business. For this reason, we're moving this idea to gain more support from the community. Now it's upto the community to get behind it and support it. Feel free to share this idea with your friends and colleagues who would also benefit from this feature being added on so they can share their thoughts and add on a vote as well! :)

  16. When we receive communication from Xero regarding a case query, it is necessary to log into Xero again to read the answer
This is time consuming and annoying- would love a fix for this.
Is there a way to view the answer and perhaps log in when we are ready to respond?

  17. When we go to the apps directory, and click on an app we are interested, they are usually associated with an external company. For instance, Crypto websites that consolidate our crypto transactions, then can be imported into Xero.

But when I go to the information pages about the apps, there is no link I can find to the actual website of the company. There are usually links to support, or social media.

Please go one step further and just put in the official website.

The reason for this is because sometimes we are researching what services actually connect with Xero…

Thanks for submitting your idea here, we appreciate you taking time to let us know how we could improve the App Store for you.

As you mentioned, the app listings currently have links to their social media pages, but not directly to their website.

For now, you might use these social media pages to get links to their websites. In the meantime, our team will check into this and your suggestion can now begin to build support with votes from other community members.

If you're interested to see recent releases or get a pulse on what's coming soon see The Long and Short of it. 🙂

  18. place "Product Ideas" on your main page. if i could have my customers suggest how to imporve my business right at the time they are getting frustrated I would be elated as this would give me direct access to my customers and what they are experiencing as they interact with my business. this seem like an absolute no brainer.

Thank you for taking the time to share this idea with us — we really appreciate you helping us identify ways to improve security in Xero. 🔐

This is now open for votes and comments from the community. The feedback and support received here help us understand how valuable this functionality would be for other customers. In the meantime, feel free to share the idea with colleagues who would also like to see this functionality so they can add their support too.

  20. Please add the ability for admins to receive an email notification when a user hasn't logged into an organisation for a configurable period (e.g. 3, 6, or 12 months). This should cover all users with access, including our own staff, as well as any accountants or bookkeepers invited into our organisation.

Access often persists long after someone has left our organisation or after an accountant/bookkeeper relationship has ended, and there's currently no easy way to spot this. An automated alert for dormant accounts would let admins proactively review and remove stale access, reducing security risk from old, unmonitored logins (e.g.…
