  1. When Xero Support is added to a Xero Practice Manager tenant, Xero should automatically send an email notification to the tenant’s registered email address.

    This would provide a clear audit trail and help firms track when staff members grant Xero Support access to the tenant.

  2. Xero instances need user restorable snapshots (daily, weekly, monhtly). AI Agents with API access are about to destroy people's accounts by mass delete/create operations, incorrect operations and making poor assumptions. Now is the time for Xero to act. I can see this going poorly if not addressed this side of AI accounting adoption. Image for attention as a joke and satire - please don't sue me.

  4. This is very basic, but a search didn't reveal an answer. Maybe it exists. Maybe it doesn't. It frustrates me when I try and look back on a reconciled bank item that it only shows the account description in view mode, not the code. I can only see the account number when I enter edit mode. Please make the account number visible in view mode. It would remove ambiguity when making a similar posting and prevent accidental corruption of previous postings. Pictures below Edit vs View mode.

  5. Can you please enable passkey as an authentication option for logging in to xero.com? Given the "trust this browser" doesn't remember the selection between sessions, being able to authenticate via passkey would be even more helpful and removes the extra step of having to grab the mobile to open Google Authenticator for the OTP each time.

  6. Please update Notification Settings to allow "Job Managers" to be notified when they have been assigned to a job. Currently, only 'Staff' are able to be notified.

    We can see how automatic notifications when a job is assigned could help Job Managers stay on top of new work and reduce the need to manually check their job lists.

    Hi Timothy, while we appreciate your feedback I want to be upfront that we don't have any plans to add a complete opt out option.

    JAX has become a core part of how Xero works, which is why we've moved it to always-on. That said, JAX isn't active until you open it and move through the initial consent step, so it won't do anything without you initiating it.

    You won’t be able to turn JAX off for the whole organisation, but you don’t have to use it:

    • If you don’t want to use JAX, simply don’t open it
    • If you don’t want certain people to use JAX, you can manage their Xero roles and permissions so they can’t see sensitive data
  8. We have integrated Xero with Avalara, but when we extract a transaction report in Avalara, instead of being able to see the Contact's name or Invoice number, we see the URL (the invoice’s unique ID). Can this be fixed?

  9. From the standard template, is it not possible for Xero to create a "show tax amount column" option which I can select as opposed to only including the tax rate in each line item? This without creating an advanced docx template from scratch?

    Hi Lungile, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We can see how including a VAT amount column on standard invoice templates could provide a clearer breakdown of tax for each line item and make invoices easier for customers to review.

  10. Have invoices from Xero in a more logical place, like under subscription and billing. The way it is now isn't logical and always takes more time. It would also help with efficiency if the Xero invoice was attached as a PDF to the email saying you've been billed or available via the Xero app.

    This seems like such a simple fix from Accounting software.

    Appreciate your feedback here, Jessica. While subscription invoices are available to view from the Billing accounts tab under Subscription & billing it sounds like you're wanting the view option to be more prominent and directly available from Subscription and billing. We'll get a better sense of the interest for this from the community here.

    We have an existing idea around being able to attach a PDF of the invoice to the email you receive and I've added your vote for this so we can keep you updated here.

  11. Most of my companies do not have credit or debit cards, now I need to correct the Xero account with internal invoicing between the companies to recoup the costs and and claim the VAT in the correct company. Easy fix is to allow for debit orders or EFT payment. If accounts are not paid up to date, just block the use of the company.

  12. XERO Tax the Tax practitioners Board TPB and the ATO have placed strict requirements on tax agents to sight identification of new clients. Both the TPB and the ATO have advised that you are unable to have a face-to-face meeting and sight the actual documents, then it is highly recommended that the Tax Agent uses a security system or secure link to transfer documents. Xero should look at this service to assist with satisfying the security of certain documents.

  13. HAVE A PHONE LINE!

    Xero claims "24/7 support" - This is a fraudulent claim.

    Denying your clients a number to call is not only repugnant customer service, it is spitting in the face of people who pay for your product.

    Whoever had the idea to save money by not having a number to call should be let go, uncerimoniously

    Hi team, thanks for sharing this feedback. We understand that sometimes speaking with someone directly is the quickest way to work through an issue, especially when you need help with something urgent or complex.

    At this stage, an inbound phone number isn’t part of our current support model. Our focus is on making sure customers are connected with the right team member who has the right context to help, rather than spending time waiting in a queue.

    For situations where a call is the best option, we offer a callback service so our team can connect with you at a suitable time and be prepared to assist.

    We appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Feedback like this helps us understand what matters most to customers and where we can continue improving the support experience.

  14. Create a button on Jax that allows the dialog box to "Pop Out" or detach from Xero. It makes no sense that I have to copy directions from Jax to paste into Word so I can follow the often multi-step instructions that cannot be done while Jax is active.

  15. The automatic, timed log-out leaves data visible on screen for a few seconds before reverting to a log-in screen. This may be browser specific (I tend to use Chrome) but there is a small security or privacy risk when this happens if whoever sees it isn't meant to. And once you know it happens, you can plan for it. I haven't tried it yet, but a screengrab seems a simple approach. I'm not clear on the mechanism to fix this, however, but I thought it would be a good, if trivial, improvement.

  16. When speaking to Xero support on a chat can Xero show the date, time of each part of the chat please like most other providers do each time each party of the chat types something in. It's really handy to refer back to.

  17. Ability to be able to subscribe (via email) to Status updates and incidents for all or selected options within Xero, via the Status page.

    A problem with Projects the other day, there was NO alert, no notification. I was entering data thinking it was being saved. Only by accident did I notice my whole day of adding time was gone, went to the discussions then to the status page to see the incident report.

    If I was aware of the issue, I could have done manual recording of time.

    Other brands like Webflow, Squarespace and many others do this.

  18. I would love Xero to create a piece of software for Film Production Accountants - Xero4Film!

    I work doing some film production accounting/bookkeeping for feature film companies in the UK as well as doing standard accounting for small businesses. Currently the software used for film productions seems to be Eclipse or Smart Accounting. Neither of these are very user friendly and I wondered if there was a possibility of Xero bringing out a version of its accounting software that could be used by Film Production Accountants. There are a few other software options out there eg Creative Computing but they…

I'm in the Assurance Dashboard in a client's datafile, doing a quick audit trail check for things that might need fixing or looking at, and I noticed that there were a couple of contacts being flagged as having the same bank account. So I looked at those contacts, and yes they do have the same bank account... Because one of them was merged into the other and then archived!

    It's been dealt with, and should no longer be coming up as flagged for checking.

    Hi Freya, thanks for your feedback regarding the Assurance Dashboard. You’ve highlighted an important point about how archived and merged contacts are still being flagged.

    We’ve moved your suggestion to Gaining Support, meaning it’s now live for community voting. This allows us to monitor the idea's momentum and better understand its impact on our users.

    To clear the flag manually, you can briefly restore the contact, update the bank account details by adding a number to it, and archive it again. While we understand this isn't an ideal solution, it will resolve the immediate display issue. If you have any other questions, our support team is always here to help.

  20. It's a huge problem for me that when billing fails for an entity, no notification is sent to the billing contact, only the subscriber (me) gets notified. If I'm on holiday, and something goes wrong with billing, people get locked out of the platform.

    There should at least be an option for the billing contact to receive these messages, if not the default setting. I can't think of any reason I wouldn't want my billing contact to know that the payment to Xero has failed. My book-keeper doesn't know something has gone wrong until she is locked out of Xero.

    Hi Alan, thanks for sharing this idea. This would be useful for situations when a payment fails, allowing a nominated user to be notified as well so action can be taken quickly and avoid being locked out.

    A simple workaround for now is setting up an email forwarding rule from noreply@post.xero.com

    or subscription.notifications@post.xero.com

    to your bookkeeper or Billing Contact. It’s not a permanent fix, but it can help make sure the right person sees the alert sooner.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would value more flexibility in who receives these notifications. If this would help your team, please add your vote or share your experience—it really helps us understand the impact.
