Have actually useful links to Xero Central from the chatbot and the help articles
I have just spent a frustrating amount of time going round in circles with the chat bot. I said that yes I would like to add a product idea and it gave me a link to a help page which tells you how to search for a product idea and how to submit one, but it didn't give me a link to the actual page where I can do that (this page it turns out!). I specifically asked for a link and it told me it was unable to do so. Then I asked how to navigate there and it…

Product Ideas - don't close comments the second you roll out something
Xero like to release/roll out a "solution" to a product idea and immediately close the comments.
Often, Xero Product Team, has completely misunderstood the request and delivered a "solution" that completely misses the mark.
If the comments were still open, when Xero say they've delivered it, the people interested in the product idea could comment and provide feedback on the "solution".
Because comments are closed, the only way is through the feedback button, which has multiple downsides:
- the feedback only goes to Xero, it's not available on a forum for others to support
- less users are likely to…1 voteThanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Ideas. We appreciate you taking time to let us know how we could improve Xero for you.

MFA user audit capability or report
Provide organisation owners / admins the ability to audit and positively verify that users have enabled MFA where required.
Recently we were able to see this in the organisation -> settings -> users list.
This is no longer available and Jax tells me that I need to contact every user individually, have them log in and show me themselves.

Enhancing legal docket tracking & county administrative integration
Streamlining record management across regional municipal networks helps improve client billing and document workflows. For firms managing cases at institutions like the Placer County Courthouse:https://countycourthouses.com/, standardized tracking tools make handling local administrative expenses and court filings significantly faster.

Communications
Shared Notes & Communications Section on the Xero Homescreen
Add a Notes/Communications section to the Xero organisation homescreen where users can leave notes for other people who access the file.
Xero files are often used by multiple people, including business owners, admin staff, bookkeepers, accountants, business coaches and other advisors. Having a shared notes section would provide a simple way to communicate important information directly within the Xero file, rather than relying on emails, Teams messages or separate records.
Notes could be used for things such as:
Important client-specific accounting treatments
Tasks or reminders for other users

Subscription invoice - Provide more advance notice
For direct debits, you send a notification of the latest Xero subscription invoice on the day that its due, which doesn't always give enough lead time to have cash ready in the account. Could you provide at least two days' advance notice?
1 voteHi Marcella, thanks for sharing your feedback here. Can understand how more advance notice would be useful.
This isn't something we have development of right now, but we'll track wider interest in this here and let you know if there's news.

Better Security
We would like the option to kick out all logged in users in case of intrusion.
Also would like IP whitelisting.1 voteHi 👋 your idea is being looked into by our Community team. We'll be in touch soon to update you once your idea has been reviewed.

Users - Automated email notifications for inactive or dormant user logins
Please add the ability for admins to receive an email notification when a user hasn't logged into an organisation for a configurable period (e.g. 3, 6, or 12 months). This should cover all users with access, including our own staff, as well as any accountants or bookkeepers invited into our organisation.
Access often persists long after someone has left our organisation or after an accountant/bookkeeper relationship has ended, and there's currently no easy way to spot this. An automated alert for dormant accounts would let admins proactively review and remove stale access, reducing security risk from old, unmonitored logins (e.g.…
2 votesAppreciate you bringing this to the community, Dennis. We understand the request for a way to identify dormant user accounts through automated alerts, rather than relying on manual checks.

Billing - Report showing subscription start and transfer dates
A report which shows us the date we take on a subscription, as we sometimes can win multiple subscriptions in the same month but the team who action the billing to the clients don't see this - is there a way to have a central report from Xero which shows us the changes so we can ensure the billing is right.
1 voteThanks for raising this with us here, Lucy. While there isn't a current report that'l accommodate your needs here this is something we can consider as a future enhancement to help with practice visibility of client subscriptions.
We're keeping an eye on the support for this so be sure to share with any colleagues that'd find this helpful. I'll be sure to update if there any report or visibility of this nature planned.

Dedicated Xero Partner Support Path for Certified Bookkeeping & Accounting Partners
Xero Partners generate and retain a significant portion of Xero's subscription revenue, yet currently receive the same support pathway as general end-users.
Recent changes to support have introduced an AI chatbot as the mandatory first step for lodging cases. While this may be helpful for users seeking guidance or support articles, it creates substantial inefficiencies for experienced bookkeeping and accounting professionals who have already completed their own investigation.
For certified Xero Partners, support requests are rarely "how do I do this?" questions. They are typically:
• Product defects
• Reporting discrepancies
• Compliance concerns
• Data integrity issues
• Payroll…1 voteHi 👋 your idea is being looked into by our Community team. We'll be in touch soon to update you once your idea has been reviewed.

XPM - Make timer button available on all screens
The Calendar and Plus options are not visible in the Timer when viewing a single client in XPM. They are only visible on the full client list screen. This slows me down when completing timesheets as I have to change screens first.
1 voteThanks for highlighting this improvement. Keeping the Timer controls visible when viewing an individual client could reduce extra navigation when starting or adding time entries.
We've updated the status to Gaining Support. Add your vote and let us know how you'd like the Timer controls to work on the client screen.

Report template - Ability to update report template when creating new account
Chart of Accounts and Report codes should be combined together. Currently if I create a new account, i have to go to three places - COA, report codes and potentially financial statements to group something. Very inefficient.
Xero chart of accounts also doesn't have the header/subaccount options. I don't want to edit report templates every time i want to group something.1 voteThanks for sharing this idea. We can understand how being able to assign or update report templates while creating a new account could make setting up your Chart of Accounts more efficient and help reduce the chance of accounts being missed from customised reports.
For now, you'll need to update your report template or report codes after creating the account to ensure it's included in the appropriate reporting groups.
We've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. We'll keep sharing the feedback from this thread with the team as they consider future improvements to the Chart of Accounts and reporting setup experience.

Navigation - Ensure Save or Update button is at the same area for all transactions
In the different Sales and Purchases entry and edit areas in Xero the save or update buttons are in different places, one has it at the top of the screen and the other at the bottom. This is really annoying and would be way more efficient if they were both the same. Clearly two different people set them up or the same person was on a different mood when they created the two. I get this, I'm inconsistent all the time, its just super annoying in a major software package!
3 votesThanks for sharing this idea. We can understand how having the Save and Update buttons in a consistent location across transaction pages could make moving between different workflows feel more intuitive.

Email Audit Notification - When Xero Support Is Added to XPM
When Xero Support is added to a Xero Practice Manager tenant, Xero should automatically send an email notification to the tenant’s registered email address.
This would provide a clear audit trail and help firms track when staff members grant Xero Support access to the tenant.
When Xero Support is added to an XPM tenant, Xero should automatically send an email to the tenant’s registered email address.
The email should include:
The date and time Xero Support was added
The user who added Xero Support
A short explanation of what access was granted
A reminder to remove Xero Support when access…2 votesThanks for sharing this idea. We understand you would value the of receiving a clear notification when Xero Support has been granted access, including what the access is for and how long it will remain active.

Spend/Receive Money Transaction - Make account number visible in View Mode
This is very basic, but a search didn't reveal an answer. Maybe it exists. Maybe it doesn't. It frustrates me when I try and look back on a reconciled bank item that it only shows the account description in view mode, not the code. I can only see the account number when I enter edit mode. Please make the account number visible in view mode. It would remove ambiguity when making a similar posting and prevent accidental corruption of previous postings. Pictures below Edit vs View mode.
1 voteThanks for sharing this idea, Martin. We can understand how displaying the account code or general ledger account number when viewing a Spend or Receive Money transaction could make it quicker to review coding without needing to switch into edit mode.
We've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this would improve your workflow, add your vote and let us know where you'd find this information most useful, such as the transaction summary or another view.

XPH | Jobs - Notify Job Manager when a job has been assigned
Please update Notification Settings to allow "Job Managers" to be notified when they have been assigned to a job. Currently, only 'Staff' are able to be notified.
8 votesThanks for starting this conversation, Mihir..
We can see how automatic notifications when a job is assigned could help Job Managers stay on top of new work and reduce the need to manually check their job lists.

JAX - Ability to opt out
Grandfathering JAX to every user with a new ToS is garbage, please allow a complete opt out of the feature.
3 votesHi Timothy, while we appreciate your feedback I want to be upfront that we don't have any plans to add a complete opt out option.
JAX has become a core part of how Xero works, which is why we've moved it to always-on. That said, JAX isn't active until you open it and move through the initial consent step, so it won't do anything without you initiating it.
You won’t be able to turn JAX off for the whole organisation, but you don’t have to use it:
- If you don’t want to use JAX, simply don’t open it
- If you don’t want certain people to use JAX, you can manage their Xero roles and permissions so they can’t see sensitive data

Invoice template - Ability to add Tax Amount column via standard template
From the standard template, is it not possible for Xero to create a "show tax amount column" option which I can select as opposed to only including the tax rate in each line item? This without creating an advanced docx template from scratch?
2 votesHi Lungile, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We can see how including a VAT amount column on standard invoice templates could provide a clearer breakdown of tax for each line item and make invoices easier for customers to review.
I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If you'd like to see this added, please keep voting and let us know how this would improve your invoicing process.

Xero Subscription Invoices - Make available within Subscription & Billing tab
Have invoices from Xero in a more logical place, like under subscription and billing. The way it is now isn't logical and always takes more time. It would also help with efficiency if the Xero invoice was attached as a PDF to the email saying you've been billed or available via the Xero app.
This seems like such a simple fix from Accounting software.
5 votesAppreciate your feedback here, Jessica. While subscription invoices are available to view from the Billing accounts tab under Subscription & billing it sounds like you're wanting the view option to be more prominent and directly available from Subscription and billing. We'll get a better sense of the interest for this from the community here.
We have an existing idea around being able to attach a PDF of the invoice to the email you receive and I've added your vote for this so we can keep you updated here.

Xero subscription: SA Payment Offerings Bank Transfer or Direct Debit
Most of my companies do not have credit or debit cards, now I need to correct the Xero account with internal invoicing between the companies to recoup the costs and and claim the VAT in the correct company. Easy fix is to allow for debit orders or EFT payment. If accounts are not paid up to date, just block the use of the company.
2 votesThanks for taking the time to share your feedback.
We can understand why paying by card for subscriptions does not suit everyone.
Xero does offer differing payment methods across regions.
Depending on the region, these include card payments as well as direct debit options such as BECS in Australia and New Zealand, BACS in the United Kingdom, ACH/eCheck in the United States, and SEPA in Europe.
In South Africa, the current subscription payment method is Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card payments.
We'll get a broader sense of interest from other SA users on offering direct debit or bank transfer here.
