Navigation - Add 'Statements' to Sales drop down menu
Adding 'statements' to the Sales drop down navigation. Simple addition, rather than having to go through the full Invoice page to send statements at EOM.

Navigation - Sub menus on Sales drop down for different statuses
On the Sales menu, I would like a sub-menu/fly-out to the right of Invoices with links to the Draft, Awaiting Approval, Awaiting Payment, Paid, and Repeating tabs on the Invoices page. This would enable me to go directly to the tab I want, saving a click or two, and reduce page load time instead of always landing on the default tab then having to click the one I actually want. Clicking Invoices should still go to the All tab. Same could be done on the Purchases menu for Bills.
Alternatively, instead of a sub-menu/fly-out, add Draft, Awaiting Approval, Awaiting Payment,…

We appreciate hearing how and why sub menus could be helpful in some sections of the navigation and this is something our product team are monitoring closely.

Understanding that sub menus or more levelled drop downs could be helpful in some places, this is an idea our product team have a close eye on.

Navigation - Ability to Favourite Repeat Invoice page
The “Favourite” feature in the Reporting section is excellent, please consider expanding this to other dropdowns or sections across the platform.
This could help address the long-standing need for sub-menu shortcuts or easier navigation, especially for commonly used tools like Repeating Invoices or the Chart of Accounts.
Note: historically, I’ve used browser bookmarks as a workaround for this. However, recent updates seem to have made these bookmarks unreliable, some now fail to link correctly, and this issue appears to be getting worse. I fear with this update It may no longer be viable to rely on bookmarks as quick links.

We know there are a range of sub menus our customers would find advantageous to have more accessible from the main menu.

Navigation - Move Tax within the Reporting or Accounting menu
I'd prefer to see the Tax Menu consolidated into either the Reporting or Accounting menu. Having more options just adds clutter and unnecessarily overwhelms users.

Navigation - Restore ability to favourite "report codes" in the reporting menu
One of the key steps in preparing client financials is to ensure accounts, especially newly added ones, are assigned to the correct report code. I had the favourited on every client in the old navigation for quick access as it's something I need almost every time. It'd like that back.

Navigation - Add Custom reports access to Reports menu
Custom reports as an option the Report drop down. I know we can favourite them, but if we have a lot of custom reports it's quicker just to go to the custom report page immediately and work from there.

Navigation - Practice Setting to set default for Favourite reports
Can the list of favourite reports be set to default to always include the Trial balance (at least with Advisor rights). As an accountant I always run a Trial balance report and have to manually set this as a favourite on every client I log into. I also regularly use the accountant transaction report and Aged payables and receivables which are already default favourites.

Navigation - Add Urgent or Priority to Projects menu
Hi Kelly, concerning projects, I have a thought or idea in seeing HOT Projects or URGENT or PRIORITY Projects in the Projects drop down just like the drop down on the Reporting button that you have Favorite Reports when you create custom reports or when you favorite some of the standard ones. Keep Reporting and Accounting tabs together
As an accountant I prefer the Reporting and Accounting tabs together, under one tab as it has always been. It would slow me down, if I had to search for accounting tools/reports under different tabs.

Navigation - Rename Sales and Purchases to Payments and Receipts
The new tabs are nominated as Purchases and Sales but some of their sub tabs go beyond that. I would prefer to label them Payments and Receipts

Navigation - Move up practice tools section on main menu
Navigation - Main Menu
Personally, I access practice tools and hubdoc / syft several times daily, I'd prefer not thave to scroll down to get to these. Settings and Subscription / Billing are access much less frequently and coud me lower in the menu.
Also the Xero Menu and Home Menu seem to do exactly the same thing? Could the main drop down menu therefore be moved over to the LHS where it was previously.2 votesThanks for your feedback, Tina. Navigation | Search - auto close and remove entry
I have seen the new Xero update, and the search bar has changed (only looks and complaints)
1. The search bar stays open, so you manually have to close it, which is slightly annoying.
2. Your search stays in the bar when it is closed. So when you open the bar again to search for something else, you have to delete the original search. If it has been a while since you last searched, you forget, and it can be so frustrating.If the search bar were fixed (actually finding things I were searching for), I wouldn't mind. But this…

Navigation | Accounting - Direct access to Tracking
Put Tracking Categories back under Accounting. Same as Chart of Accounts, Tracking Categories needs to be accessed regularly.

Navigation - Access Product & Services from both Sales and Purchases
I think the new menu bar is great as its closer to the original layout from about 9-10 years ago.
But super annoying that I can only access Products & Services via Sales.
All our purchasing is run through Xero, all our sales is run via external POS that we import summary csv, not detail, so no products or services.
Seeing as the new navigation bar is already quite full and having a separate productions option is not visually viable, would it not make sense to have the Products and Services link feature in both Sales & Purchases?
