Hey Everyone! Thanks for the feedback on the New Workpapers experience. Xero Ask is available on the Classic Workpapers but as yet not available in the new Workpapers experience. We've reviewed your idea and moved it to Gaining Support and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!
Along with votes, other members can now comment to share additional detail about how your idea could improve their experience with Xero.

Hi team, we have split this idea from the original raised across here.
Our teams are watching the interest for changes in Workpapers through the forum here, and I'll make sure to let you know if any plans are made for this.
For now, we'd like to continue to track the interest in this. Thanks

I'm in NZ, so have only seen the instructional video, but I had wondered if you would be able to select multiple accounts to attach a note to.
Related, if the ability to attach documents to notes was available, then linking notes to multiple accounts would also have the effect of linking one single document to multiple account codes (something that is currently not possible with classic workpapers from *inside*). We currently work around this by linking to one sharepoint file, but it makes our workflow quite confusing.

This is critical - if you return GST on a cash basis (like most small businesses in NZ), the accrual journal will be included in the GST return. It's almost inevitable that GST will incorrectly claimed on accounts payable journals. I agree with the OP, that journals should be accrual by default, with the option to include on cash basis reports.

As Jamie said, referencing physical quantities is very important for advisors. We aren't asking for a full-blown inventory system, just that the account transaction displays a field that is mandatory for us to enter when creating bills/reconciling bank accounts.

You say that "Xero Ask is available on the Classic Workpapers". At least in NZ, this is definitely not true. The queries sent from Workpapers are similar to Xero Ask, but definitely a different experience for the client.
We have had much more success with Xero Ask. It seems to be a lot more user friendly. It seems crazy that we have to copy/paste all of these queries
